Vidal Sassoon and Grace Coddington 

Considered by some to be the hairdresser of the 1960s, Vidal Sassoon tapped in to the prevailing fashion for cropped hair. He specialised in strong, blunt cuts for his clients, and of course is perhaps best known now for chopping off Mia Farrow’s long blonde hair (and famously upsetting Frank Sinatra as a result). 

Grace Coddington is a flame haired beauty, and was a favourite of both designer Mary Quant and photographer F C Gundlach. After her modelling career she set about, with fellow Brit Anna Wintour, to redefine American fashion through the pages of US Vogue in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
