It's okay to forget holidays
It's okay to forget to practice for days, weeks, even months at a time
It's okay to experience burnout
Burnout usually happens when we set expectations for ourselves that are unrealistic or way too high up to achieve. You don't need to practice daily, you don't need to do a spell every phase of the moon...
You just need to focus on your health and happiness, magic will weave its way into your life, I promise.
When you are mentally and physically able to do more active magic, it will be there waiting for you. It's not going anywhere.
Rest and revive, dear, you are worth it.
I've been on a "break" for like 2 years now and I'm almost fighting myself trying to get back in to this stuff. I worry sometimes my patrons will be upset with me, sometimes I think they probably are..
I feel a bit lost tbh.

Reminder to always check your pockets before doing laundry. A few months ago, I left my earbuds in the pocket of my jeans. The one time I didn’t check my pockets is the time my earbuds got obliterated. I just bought new earbuds, they’re coming today. I have gone awhile without music in public.

When I take my ADHD meds after sleeping in or without stimulation immediately after, it takes forever to kick in. My jaw goes to the side, I slur my words, I’m really tired and out of it, I drool, mouth breathe, and I cannot fucking focus for the life of me.
Does this happen to anyone else? Please tell me I’m not alone.

Every time I listen to music directly, I space out. Music makes me forget I exist sometimes.
Not me being an hour late for work because I forgot it was a Monday. Tbh, I forget I exist sometimes.

Idk if you were actually looking for an answer but I talk about this with my therapist a lot so heres his wisdom:
Laziness=You don't want to do a task, so you choose not to, and you're fine with that. You either dont care if it gets done or you figure someone else will do it.
Procrastination=You want to do the task, but you put it off because it seems difficult/boring/time consuming.
Executive dysfunction=You want to do the task, and intend to at that very moment. There is no significant reason not to, but you can't because your brain is having difficulty transitioning between activities.
The key difference, he points out, is that if you experience guilt or shame from not doing it, then it's NOT laziness, because those feelings indicate, on some level, a desire to complete the task.
The latter two have more overlap imo, but for myself, I think of it as whether you are having trouble confronting the task itself, or just the transition.

I’m not sure if this happens to anyone else, but if I don’t take my ADHD medication before noon, I act and sound like I’m either drunk or high.
Yesterday, I had one of those motivation hypes and cleaned half of my house. Usually I can't act on them because I'm either not home or it's the middle of the night. So... yeah. Yay!

Why am I like this?
ADHD is missing almost every call, feeling bad, then cranking up the volume and keeping it in close proximity to prevent making others upset. A perfect example of hyperfixating on a solution because if you don't focus enough, problems will arise.
