today I helped my wife with a service for a young soldier and his wife who were taken together and way too soon.

I watch how meticulously she placed every memory, every photo and every floral arrangement. How she planned out a beautiful dual memorial, directed every step and every aspect of the day for not one but two families. I watched the mothers and fathers of the two take several deep breaths and allow themselves to fully lean into and process their grief and their hardest goodbye because they didn’t have to think, she had them.

I fell in love with my wife all over again today, a million different times in a million different ways. She moves and serves with a grace and a compassion that I never truly saw in action until I met her. Getting to watch her steward her gift with pride and the passion she has, will always be one of the greatest joys of my life.

I love you sweet girl, I’m proud of you.
