saw this floating around sorry to rain on my fellow kataangs.. parade but after all the time spending about how zutaras pushed a fake interview with this guy im not gonna blindly believe this happened. Plus aaron ehasz is highly overrated in this fandom anyway.. i mean his idea for irohs son being killed by spirits? Awful terrible. i really dont get the whole obsession people get with this gu gives of jkr making up new stuff on the fly vibes to me.

i mean come on does any of this really sound beliveable? esp that END part of it.. and the whole s4 is as likely to happen as invader zim being renewed . IE was never planned. use your heads atla fandom.

i won’t take this as gospel and I do agree that ehasz is overrated, but there is some evidence to suggest that this encounter could be true, maybe just overexaggerated:

- aaron ehasz has expressed interest in tokka in the 2018 interview where he denies being a zutara or kataang shipper.

- i feel like the person writing it could easily have stated that aaron prefers kataang over zutara if they were making it up. but the fact that (in the post) he said tokka makes me think that it is in line with an ehasz type of answer, especially because just a couple of weeks ago he posted a joke video where he chose azutara while poising the question of kataang vs zutara.

- the ending of legend of korra with korrasami parallels a wedding (zhu li and varrick’s). the atla finale wouldn’t be the first time they use the ending scene to portray a marital bond.

- aaron has ALWAYS pushed for a season 4. he keeps changing the narrative on this supposed season 4, even after bryke corrected him, but him answering that there’s a likelihood for a season 4 sounds exactly like him tbh. that’s the most believable part of this interaction.

there’s still a likely chance of it being fake. but it DOES sound much more real than all of those interviews made by zutara shippers claiming to be aaron ehasz.

if it is real id wish he stop pushing season 4. Season 4 was never needed and a lot of his recent tlaks to fan just give me grifter trying to appease fandom by saying whatever vibes maybe im paranoid but i just cant trust this man

@iminaworldofpureimagination we do know there was interest from nickelodeon in a s4 of avatar and that ideas were written / tossed around for it with at least one half of bryke (azula redemption arc, zuko helping aang navigate some of the possible consequences of energy bending and his own immense power) but like. he does not talk about s4 almost ever precisely bc of fandom stuff like this, and has been busy running his own company and show for almost a decade now (with some ideas from that s4, i.e. the thematic zukaang bits, clearly being incorporated and built upon).

the fandom's weird conspiracy theory surrounding him is not his fault & he is pretty clear about his preference for kataang/maiko if you look at the few times he's ever actually talked about shipping - he's even asked to read my kataang meta once (i was comparing similarities between them with the - at the time - non canon leads of his show so like. pretty blatant)

i also wouldn't compare someone who writes trans rep / regularly works with trans actors for his shows on the same level as a massive raging actively hostile terf

Well yeah hes not as bad as her shes completely and uttterly batshit insane. and him working with trans people is cool but i know nothing about what he does of recent i dont keep track of the guy so Id have no way of knowing any of that im not usually invested in the lifes of famous people all i hear about him is whatever is see on tumblr tbh.

what i meant by JKR vibes was the whole her saying dumbledore is gay/ Hermonie is black while aaron talks about Irohs son being killed by Koi and not in the war /even the azula redemption arc it feels performative to me.. and theres also the whole workplace abuse accustations against him whetheryoubeliveitstrueornot i wont deny he had great ideas for but im just tired of seeing him put on a pedastal by the fandom

also this is the only response i have bec.. im not that invested
