The Process :
The process can take from 40 minutes to an hour or more depending on the complexity of the case. We try and ensure the root canal treatment remains pain-free with effective local anesthesic. The cavity is cleaned out and small highly flexible files are used to thoroughly clean and disinfect the root canals before being sealed with a special cement and a silicone like substance that prevents any leakage and future infection. A crown would usually be necessary after the procedure in case of the back teeth (Molar Root Canal Treatment) as they are usually subject to heavy biting forces.
