Do you accept criminal muses?
Yes, we do! We will probably limit it since we don’t want to overwhelm the dashboard. But as long as your character hasn’t killed/murdered anyone, then yes, we do accept criminal muses!
CATHAL ACOSTA --
Birthdate: April 10th, 1988 ( 30 ) Gender and Pronouns: Male, he/him Hometown: Houston, Texas Neighborhood: Upper West Side, Manhattan Occupation: Heir, Businessman and Owner Faceclaim: Alex Pettyfer Trigger Warnings:Â None.
BIOGRAPHY --
Born and raised in Houston, Cathal had more in his bank account than most of the world’s population before he could walk and talk. He was the heir to an American dynasty, to American oil, and to a line of some of the greatest businessmen in the world. His great grandfather staked his claim in southeast Texas with much of the land he owned having reserves of oil, the Acosta family became instantly rich with the Texas oil boom. With the Texas boom being considered the start of the Oil Age in the entire world, fortunes only grew over the years and the Acostas were considered American royalty due to their massive wealth. Everyone in Texas and most of the South knew the family name and the notable men that carried and expanded the oil business into other ventures as well. As a youngin’, Cathal rarely fit in, he couldn’t sit still and he was constantly into any and everything he shouldn’t have been.  He was quite a lot for his young debutant mother to keep up with, especially since she had been spoiled with her first child, Cathal’s older brother, being so quiet and well behaved. His attention span was limited and he wasn’t interested in anything his father and grandfather were doing or trying to teach him, he was the opposite of his brother. Cathal wanted fun and adventure, he may have been small but he did his best to keep up with the boys his age. He made friends easily, partly due to status but mostly because of his friendly and outgoing personality.
School wasn’t a breeze for Cathal, not for lack of intelligence but for lack of wanting to be there. He couldn’t sit and listen to lectures or focus long enough on assignments, his mind was always off in far off places. He’d seen most of the world by the time he could legally drive a car but he was a daydreamer and not at all interested in politics or big business. This created problems at home, his brother was the model child his father and grandfather dreamed of and they praised him often. Whereas Cathal, was scolded often and told to be more like his brother, to do better in school and to stop getting into pointless trouble. He was always testing himself, purely to see if he could do it, whatever it was. Cathal would steal things and then later return them or pay for them and he was always a sweetheart about it, no one ever even complained, mostly figured the kid was bored. When he turned eighteen, Cathal finally had access to the billions in his bank accounts. The money had been sitting and growing over the years and the freshly graduated from high school teenager made his way out to California. His grades didn’t quite get him into Stanford, the big time Ivy League university in the northern part of the state, but a phone call from his father did. He did well enough to pass his classes but his focus, yet again, was never really on academics. Cathal had no desire to be the next generation to continue the Acosta fortunes, his brother was perfect for that.
Always a strong interest in all things automotive, especially whatever went fast, Cathal got involved in street racing. It was easy for the young man to afford the cars and it didn’t take him long to become quite good at race driving. Winning the money meant nothing to him, it was all about the thrill and fun for Cathal, and he often gave the cash away or donated it anonymously to local shelters or struggling small business owners. After graduation from Stanford, Cathal made what was to be a temporary move to New York City, there was a job waiting for him at his grandfather’s company. In the late eighties his grandfather purchased the New York Giants football team and was the active CEO, causing him to split his time between Texas and New York during the on and off seasons through the years. It wasn’t the business Cathal immediately stepped into when arriving, instead focusing on the investment company acting as a broker. Clearly, he wasn’t in need of working or a steady job with income, it was all about experience in the business world and with maturity came a respect for responsibility and Cathal began to actually enjoy the things his father and grandfather tried to groom him for so early in his life. Looking back of course he wouldn’t have changed a thing. Most of his time was spent working on expansion of the company, and when a major hardship hit the close-knit Acostas, they all branched out and took over where needed. Â
Three years ago his grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and chose to step down on all business ventures and companies, figuring it was wisest to retire completely before the disease hit too hard. Cathal took over the investment company completely as well as the New York Giants from his grandfather. He’s doing his best to juggle it all but has been finding the lack of social life a problem; once a guy that was all about the nightlife was rarely seen out anymore but in part, some of that was due to Cathal becoming even wealthier. In the timing of his playboy lifestyle, as the media called it, slowing down Cathal met a woman by the name of Giovanna Duffy when she came into the Giants offices to interview for a job. The romance went fast but he had fallen in love for the first time in his life and he was serious about settling down with her. Life had other plans and threw a wrench into his happiness, losing his grandfather and mentor set Cathal on a lonesome path for a while as he tried to mourn and accept the loss. Throughout his life, he always stayed protective of his identity, being someone literally made of money, it was extremely hard to trust anyone. No one knows him, other than family and a few closest friends all that well beyond what’s been publicized about him over the years and the general stories about the Acosta family legacy.

ELIAS JOHNSON --
Birthdate: May 9th, 1988 ( 30 ) Gender and Pronouns: Male, he/him Hometown: Chicago, Illinois Neighborhood: Williamsburg, Brooklyn Occupation: Private Investigator Faceclaim: Shamier Anderson Trigger Warnings: None.
BIOGRAPHY --
Joan and Aaron Johnson only ever wanted to build their family. Since Joan was a child she dreamed of being a mother and raising her how bundle of children so when she got pregnant with Elias they were both overjoyed. He would be but the first of many. Unfortunately 6 months after Elias was born Joan started having trouble with her vision. Doctors diagnosed her with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative disease that causes her retinas to deteriorate over time. It was a shock, the idea that she would slowly lose her sight but her biggest heartbreak came when she learned that it was hereditary and her dear son had a fifty percent chance of developing the disease as well as well as any other children she may have. It was hard enough to come to terms with it for herself but the idea she could pass it on to her own children was too much. With a heavy heart she gave up her dream of having more children of her own and with Aaron’s support set her sights on making her house a home for others. She could still be a mother to those children out there that needed one.
Elias grew over the years helping his mother adapt to her failing sight and taking care of the foster children they had brought into the home. He knew he could eventually reach the same fate as his mother but he put it to the back of his mind as he let himself dream of the future. For as long as he could remember Elias dreamed of being a cop. He wanted to stop bad guys and protect people. He’d grown up around kids who felt unsafe in their world and he wanted to make them feel safe. Plus he had a knack for puzzles and liked the idea of solving mysteries. His parents supported his dream but feared what a future diagnosis would do to his career. As he graduated high school they urged him to go to college, to have a degree to fall back on and to appease them he did. With a full ride to NYU he moved to the big city in hope that as soon as he got his degree he would join the academy and become one of elite boys in blue of New York City.
Elias’s drive pushed him to follow his dream and it came true. The day he got his badge was one of the proudest in his life. He was eager to push his career forward and become a detective. His parents watched him succeed with high hope that he was on the good side of that 50/50 chance not sadly he was not. He was 27 when his night vision started to fail him. He prayed for anything else as he went to the doctor but the diagnosis hit him like a knife to the heart. Retinitis pigmentosa. Over time, his eyesight would get worse and he had now idea how slowly or quickly it would progress. The day he was forced to retire from the force his heart sank. It wasnt that he didnt know how to manage the disease, he had helped his mother through it after all, he just didnt know how to be himself anymore. He had only ever wanted to be a cop.
For the next few months he fell into a deep depression. He could barely get out of bed some days. It took a visit from his mother, now fully blind but surviving beautifully to shake him out of his funk. He wasnt dead, he could make this work. With his knowledge in criminal justice and his training from the force he found himself in the closest job he could think of, Private investigation. The progression of his disease was slower than expected which gave him more range to ply his craft but again he looked to the future training himself to adapt to the low vision he would have in the future. With the help of his service dog, Byron, he has found his way again and is looking to find a new dream to reach.

IVAN EKLUND --
Birthdate: September 25th, 1982 ( 36 ) Gender and Pronouns: Male, he/him Hometown: Stockholm, Sweden Neighborhood: Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Occupation:Â Security Guard Faceclaim: Josh Dallas Trigger Warnings: Death.
BIOGRAPHY --
Luck seemed to be a staple within the Eklund name. For centuries, they were entrusted, privileged to have steady jobs within the staple Sweden palace, finding prominence in providing generously for their families for their daily lives, their children’s schooling. It was no different for Samuel Eklund, who took on the role of kingdom groundskeeper, eventually happily marrying Hanna, a nurse at the local hospital. Yet, there always seem to be times when luck takes a turn for the worst in some cases and upon what was supposed to be a joyful birth of their first son, Ivan, it turned into that very nightmare. Hanna passed in childbirth, Samuel promising her that he would take the utmost care of their baby boy and never forget her memory. In his heartbreaking grief, he did just that, throwing himself into work at the palace and taking care of Ivan. When he came old enough to understand, his father explained as to why there hadn’t been a steady mother around for this entire life, and unable to feel as if part of it was his own fault, no matter how much his father protested the notion, Ivan had fallen into his own state of dealing with the grief. Albeit as more time passed and Ivan could start taking care of himself, Samuel began working later and later hours at the palace, causing Ivan to do the same, although in a different sort of rebelling way in his teen years, feeling the distance that had started to come between him and his father. Whether voluntarily or un-voluntarily.
By the time Ivan had begun to have to start thinking about later education, he wanted none of it. His life it seemed had only hit a block in the road with only hanging out with the wrong, constantly partying crowds. His father felt hopeless at the same time, unsure how else to convince him, and only seemingly giving up further. That was until, Ivan had attended an event at the palace with him during that time. During so, he couldn’t help but feel that something had been off, and his inkling had turned out to be right, correctly having pointed out an intruder who had made their way into the event to the guards, thwarting what would have been a disastrous plan. The guards afterwards couldn’t help but be thankful for his watchful eye and it eventually gave Ivan the idea that maybe from the way they were speaking, something could stem from this situation. Maybe he had found something that he could be potentially good at, some path to finally go down. After all, the whole security detail had fascinated him and that keen interest only continued as he eventually made the decision to apply for a training program, as much as he would have preferred and constantly told himself growing that not to follow in his family’s footsteps and work at the palace. It would be a significant something and not be nothing.
Ivan proceeded to go through training and eventually became appointed into the security detail, shadowing many as time went on until he was given a permanent position in becoming the bodyguard of the princess. Once again, Ivan felt distaste for it, surely thinking it would be but a drag, only to find himself surprised. He and Princess Louisa had struck up a fast friendship, finding that he became the first person she’d go to when things would go awry in dealing with her personal and royal life and in turn, he’d tell her things that he hadn’t ever told anyone else. For nearly the first time, he felt safe to open up, honored to be trusted by someone of such a title. It didn’t take long for him to take his job seriously in entirety, finding the princess was nothing as he expected, and even though he pushed the notions away that there feelings beginning to develop for her, he couldn’t help but think that maybe in some way, she did feel the same for him. Or if it was just wishful thinking. The time to express anything to her had run out before he knew it, finding she would be moving away to the States and he wouldn’t be on her protective team for security reasons. Ivan didn’t know exactly how to even say goodbye, and so he left it simple, although, confused and frustrated as to why this was happening. He never received an overt explanation even in the messages he did receive after Princess Louisa’s move. Ivan returned to general security at the palace nonetheless, not knowing anything else, until his father had suddenly fallen ill, and gravely. Given devastating news that he wouldn’t make it very long, Ivan quit his job at the palace completely to take care of him. And when Mr. Eklund did pass before long of an encompassing stroke, Ivan felt as if he had nothing yet again, as if time turned back to when he was a teenager. Entirely lost.
Knowing what Samuel Eklund had done in his grief, Ivan began to research work and eventually find something perfect that he could still keep in the same security field. And in the states, where Louisa said she was. Although unsure of how a reunion would even occur between the two, Ivan packed his bags, everything, his entire life, and made the move across the pond to New York City. A place only those where he was from dreamed about making a living. Impressed by the resume that he had worked in royalty detail for a good amount of time, Ivan had taken the job in the security department at the world-renowned Freedom Tower in the city. And in a way, after leaving as if he lost everything once again, no matter what would happen, he felt like there was some sense of a purpose again upon working there. After all, it was a new start that maybe he didn’t even know he needed until now.

( + ) integral, reliable, self disciplined. ( - ) headstrong, resentful, subjective.
WELCOME TO NEW YORK’S 45TH ANNUAL PARADE!
New York’s Village Halloween Parade is an annual holiday parade and street pageant presented on the night of every Halloween in New York City’s very own, Greenwich Village. The Village Halloween Parade, initiated in the early 70’s by Greenwich Village puppeteer and mask maker, Ralph Lee, that lays claim to being the world’s largest Halloween parade and the only nighttime parade in New York City. The parade is largely a spontaneous event as individual marchers can just show up in costume at the starting point without registering or paying anything. The parade’s most signature features are large puppets which are animated by hundreds of volunteers. The official parade theme each year is applied to the puppets.
Every year, 50,000 folks parade up Sixth Avenue -- decked out in some of the City’s scariest, most inventive and most hilarious costumes -- while numerous live bands complement the ghoulish revelry. Show up with a creative costume of your own and join the parade, or stick to your civvies and take in the spectacle from the sidelines. Marchers line up on Sixth Avenue between Canal and Spring Streets. The parade gets rolling at 7pm and heads north up Sixth Avenue to 16th Street.
