need to get this off my chest ouaurghgh. the lesbian macy headcanon is a pet peeve of mine in this fandom. like Yeah . ok sure. the tomboy only likes women and the effeminate guy only likes men and chocolate milk comes from brown cows☝️. feels like it plays into stereotypes. obviously im not gonna actively hate on the people having this headcanon anyone can have any headcanons they want we all have free will but its just piss me off a little.

I feel like when people get popular, they use it as an excuse to be an ass. I don't understand.. I've seen people genuinely be nasty to eachother in this fandom and it baffles me.

I don't understand how people can be nasty.. it's a kids show about Lego knights.

Less of an analysis post, more of a reason this show pisses me off sometimes.

Season 3 is good, but the mistreatment of Clay regardless of if it's a joke is ableism against a disabled character.

For context in case people don't remember.

Clay in S3 is canonically disabled, specifically he's slowly losing his ability to walk, making him canonically paralysed since ep 24 when we first learn his condition is worsening. He cannot walk by himself, and it's SHOWN.

So how exactly is show humour ableism? Constantly having Clay's mech weaponised against him. It's like a paralysed person being beat up with their wheelchair, which?? Shouldn't happen, and the continuity of Clay falling out of it, beating beat up, falling down places. It's a mess.

You can't just have a disabled character as the season punching bag, regardless of what happens. It's weird, it's ableist, because you wouldn't treat disabled people with the same level of disrespect would you?

I get it, season 3 is praised for being a good written season but really, you can't ignore the way it treated Clay before episode 29. Even if it's unintended, it's a bitter way to treat a character you've basically confirmed is disabled.

There's something sour about having a character as disabled just to weaponise his mobility aids against him since it was introduced.

"It's a kids show, I really don't need to be pissed off" when the kid show has ableism, I can nitpick and be pissed off all I want.

I have complicating feelings on Clacy that no one asked for but ,

I actually liked Aaron/Macy more back then and read Wattpad fics of them but this isn't about them (I also once wrote a Clacy oneshot back then but sijf)

More like yeah when I was younger I felt as if they were romantic it would've felt very forced and I was tired of that in my shows and felt "vindicated" when Tommy confirmed they weren't a thing. But years later here is the thing for me,

I feel as though they would've butchered their writing in a romantic way, something tells me. I didn't really enjoy most of early Jaya from Ninjago (Before season 8) so I'm kinda not sure if I trust Tommy to write a well thought out romance lmao (I'm fond of Zane/Pixel in Ninjago but I dont remember a lot from there)

Plus the fact they don't know how to write women ouuu..

But I can now appreciate fanon Clacy since the fandom has great characterization. I have similar feelings on another ship that's actually canon but I will not get into this.

Sorry, this is probably wasn't the best place to yap about this since this was mostly jst pointing out how ppl don't like it when a woman is involved in a ship but sidhfb I have many thoughts on the dynamics in this show and how Tommy handles things

This fandom had really overwhelmed me so badly, I've felt like shit for the past two weeks, unmotivated and constantly feeling as if what I say will be tracked as "oh well get over it." I'm scared because I don't know what people are doing.. I'm scared because I'm afraid anything I say, any ideas I actually have will just be cheap shitty copy and pastes of different things that already exist.

I don't know what to do, apologise?? Honestly, it's the probably the only thing I can do. So I'm sorry. I'm sorry for inconveniencing other people, I'm sorry that everything feels like a joke. I'm sorry, that I don't know what to do, maybe stop? I've already DONE that, and I still carry the guilt of basically everything.

I suppose I shouldn't generalise this, the fandom are lovely.. but I'm so tired of pretending that things haven't really bothered me recently.

HUGE disagree that Jestro had no reason to turn evil. He felt like a failure nobody cared about. Everyone was laughing, yes, but they were laughing at the wrong parts of his routine— only when he failed would people laugh. They were also making fun of him and jeering. (That’s cheering but BAD.) When everyone around you is AMAZING (The top-of-his-class Knight and the ancient Wizard, along with actual royalty) and you feel somewhat mediocre, it’s surprisingly easy to feel like absolute garbage. He wanted a little credit, maybe some respect. Monstrox, being a manipulative leather bound leech at the time, used the promise of respect to lure him into evil. It also doesn’t help that people don’t draw a line between fear and respect enough, because they aren’t equal or derivative of each other. He wanted a quiet place to sulk, heard Monstrox yapping, and was suddenly in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Both of them are fundamentally different characters, while neither of them can be considered better. They're both in the end written by a man who had no idea how to genuinely write women without having males around her 24/7.
