44. After the war, Hannah Abbott and a number of her fellow Hufflepuffs decided that the Houses were too isolated, too easy to pit against each other, and that it was part of what had sparked the war. So they started a determined effort to build inter-House relationships and community. 

Seeing that her old friend (and secret crush) Neville Longbottom was still a bit shell-shocked and grieving after the war, she decided to recruit him to help, thinking that something more healing and life-affirming to do would be good for him. 

It was. 

Especially since it resulted in the pair of them having long conversations about anything and everything in the Hufflepuff Common Room, and eventually getting over their mutual shyness and ending up in each other’s arms.
