I want to get mad.

I want to get so fearsome no one questions me. No one even thinks to ask why or what I have planned, where I'm going or if I'm sure. I want to stand up with the fear of God in my voice and complexion to anyone that doubts my abilities in my field. I believe in a lot, and I have so much faith, but never will I be as passionate in my work as when I am helping others. I have so much confidence in my field because yes I will take someone to the ER and sit with them for 12 hours so they're not alone instead of writing a paper that may have some hidden meaning but is not vital, except apparently to your judgement against my abilities to put my work first over myself. I am the healthcare worker that will spend my days off making my patients their favorite desserts from scratch, finding their favorite flowers, reading them their favorite book, renting them their favorite movie; anything to make their stay that much comfortable, to make their patience for our sometimes unnecessary "business" that much less frustrating. You doubt my abilities? How much I care? How far I will go and what I will accomplish? Welcome to a front row seat to the largest 'thank you' you will ever receive. Thank you. Thank you for removing me from your teachings. God, please forbid I ever become that uncompassionate. I want to get mad, but I could never fall to your stunted abilities because my patients deserve so much better.
