I took this photo on the Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis in Paris on June 29 this year and it's relevant more than ever today. Last night in the Jungle refugee camp in Calais, a huge fire burned dozens of tents, home to migrants fleeing violence in the Middle East and elsewhere, and looking for a better life as any of us would. These people have been subject to almost daily intimidation and violence by the security forces of the French state 'guarding' the camp (follow @calaisolidarity on Twitter for the full situation), and today extra tents are being refused, with winter closing in. It's way to easy to let events like last night's in Paris feed a climate of fear and racism towards people of the Islamic faith, people of colour, and of economic and humanitarian refugees. We need to spread love and solidarity, and do what we can to support our fellow human beings in desperate times. Paris has become a second home to me this year - I've spent almost as much time there as in London. I love the city and I'm in shock. Please let's use this appalling atrocity as an opportunity to come together rather than further divide ourselves
