I think I’m in the minority when I really want Daan and Elise’s relationship to have been a generally mutual and loving one. Like maybe not the healthiest, but overall it was a good thing. Like I’m fully aware that’s probably not what the narrative intended, but I’m clinging on to this idea until we get more info lol.
But like, really the reason I want it to be a small sense of joy in Daan’s tragic life is because it would be more devastating once he loses her in such a gruesome way. Like it just hits more rather than have it be bad thing after bad thing because narratively speaking the latter won’t leave as much of an impact.
It’s like this idea where you give someone something they never knew they needed (love and happiness in this case) only to make them go back to the beginning (being isolated and left with nothing). It’s that added sense of perspective. Being alone again hurting a lot more for Daan because he finally knew what it was like to have someone good in his life. Idk that’s just me, I’ve had this on my mind for like a week lol. I think all versions of Elise are fun and interesting. Who knows what Miro has planned
