Kane: Okay. Good luck buddy. Take care.
Landyn: You too, Kane. Kill them, in LA. I'm gonna find my way to you, one of these days.
Text @ Sammy
Sammy: I will. Good luck.
Landyn: Thanks, man. Good luck for you, too.
Text @ Kane
Kane: Dude, what? What's going on? You're scaring the crap out of me. Kane: You know I'm always a phone call away too, buddy. You're my best friend. Whatever's going on....it'll be okay. And I'm here.
Landyn: Don't be scared, I'm just going out of town. I'll let you know where I'm staying when I know.
Landyn: Thanks, Kane. I appreciate that, a lot.
Text @ Sammy
Sammy: ….Thank you. I will.
Sammy: No hard feelings?
Landyn: No hard feelings. This is not your fault, Sammy. I just want you to make sure he's loved, because he deserves that.
Text @ Kane
Landyn: Hey, buddy... I miss you. I've been so caught up in my own shit I haven't given you the time of the day to hang out... And now, it's not gonna happen. I'm going out of town. I don't know where, but I won't come back. Maybe we'll meet again when you're a big star, huh? You're my best friend, and I'm sorry I suck and I'm sorry I'm leaving like this, but I need a change. To start over. But if you ever need, I'm just a phonecall away. Remember that. I love you, man. It sounds cheesy as fuck, but I do.
Text @ Sammy
Landyn: Take care of him. I know you'll do that better than I ever did. And take care of yourself.
Text @ Brittany
Landyn: Hey, Britt. It's been a while since we talked... I hope you've been good. Look, I'm going... I'm going out of town. I don't know where, but I need to leave. I won't be coming back, this time; Greensville is not my home anymore. I'm sorry I'm leaving, but I'll always be a phonecall away. So if you ever need me, just call or text, and I'll give you the attention you need. I love you, Britt. Don't forget that.
So this is the end of you and me... | Self-Para
We had a good run, now I'm setting you free.
It had been a while since Landyn had gone home; he wasn't even sure he could call that place home, anymore. Everytime he walked into the apartment, lately, he felt nothing but a cold, empty feeling; that wasn't his home, anymore. Today was no different. After endless shifts at the hospital, ones he'd signed up for, on his own, he was finally back in that house, and it felt emptier than before.
With a sigh, Landyn shut the door behind him, but immediately the security alarm went off. Fuck, he couldn't remember the code; again. Avery used to always laugh at him for that, and come to the rescue whenever it was needed; today, Avery wasn't there. Looking at the device on the wall, Landyn tried to remember; he'd seen Avery do it countless times, but the code had never registered, in his mind. He groaned and looked around, helplessly, and that's when he saw it - the note. The ring.
His heart felt heavy on his chest, and he walked over to the counter, slowly pushing the ring aside and grabbing the paper, walking back over to the alarm and turning it off. Once that was done, he walked back over to the counter, resting his elbows on it as he read the words Avery had written, careful and slow. He could feel his heart beat faster, he could feel his eyes water, but he did nothing; he simply read the note until it was over, sighing, after.
Avery was right; they had lost themselves. It hadn't been only his fault, or only Landyn's fault; it was almost like a joint effort that none of them had realized they were making. All the mistakes they'd made, the ones that should've made them stronger, had torn them apart, but they still held on - they held on until the rope of hope broke, leaving them to fall apart. Landyn had loved Avery; he still did, if he was fair - but not in the same way he had, before. That depth had been lost along the way, and Landyn couldn't find it, no matter how much he tried; the spark was gone.
Sighing once more, the boy looked around him; the appartment was filled with nothing but good memories, but still, he didn't want to be here anymore. In fact, he didn't want to be in Greensville, altogether. The town was dull, and it didn't feel like home; he needed to start over. Somewhere new, exciting; somewhere where he could find himself again. With that in mind, he made his way back to the bedroom, and retreated all his clothes, shoving them into a duffel bag. He then grabbed his bass's bag and placed it on the bed, before grabbing a few pictures and shoving them in the duffel bag as well. Once he was done, he didn't even look twice; he grabbed his bags, phone and keys, and made his way back to the kitchen.
He put everything down once in that division of the house, walking back over to where he'd left Avery's engagement ring. He looked at it nostalgically, a pang of hurt hitting his chest; one that was due to missing that day, a moment where they were so happy. When Avery and him were the same; he wished that could change, but it couldn't. Instead of picking the ring up, like he'd originally planned, he simply took his own off, placing it next to Avery's. Whoever bought the house could give them a better use than Landyn ever could.
After doing that, he grabbed his cellphone and texted only three people; the three people he knew needed to be texted. No one else mattered; no one else would even notice he was gone. When he was done, he tucked his cellphone away, and then walked over to his bags, again, picking them up and throwing them over his shoulder. He took a second to look around, let the walls around him engulf in a soft happiness, one that came from memories created in that space, and then turned around, to the door, and left.
He had no destination in mind, no plans, but he knew he couldn't stay; his heart was somewhere else, and he needed to find that place.
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
I love you more.
That's impossible in any sense.
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
*smiles lightly* Yay
*pecks his lips* I love you.
You better watch out for your man. Sammy's trying to steal him.
... Not gonna happen.
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
You really mean it?
*smiles softly* Of course, Avery. Nothing would make me happier than you having my last name, instead of... his.
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
*kisses back* I want my last name to just be Parks. No Bronze.
*nods a little* We can do that, baby.
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
Seal it with a kiss?
Of course, baby. *leans forward and kisses him gently*
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
*giggles uncomfortably* You sure about that?
*nods* As sure as I am that I love you. So yeah, a lot. *smiles lightly*
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
*pauses* I know that. I know… and I wanna get married real soon… *nods*
We will, baby. We'll get everything ready, and we can get married as soon as you're out of here, if you want.
*walks into the visiting room at jail, an aggravated look on his face*
*shrugs* I’m used to it, it’s nothing really… *rubs his hand gently, keeping his eyes closed*
Just... remember that I love you a lot, okay? That we're engaged, and I'm yours and yours only, even if I'm not around as much.
