The things that Complete me as an average college student :

iPhone- my phone is a need ! I have family members who count on me for certain things and I always need to be in touch with them. I pay around 160 a month for my phone

Laptop- being a college student I believe that a laptop is essential! It's definitely a need .. being off campus becomes easier with the use of a laptop. No payment !only requires wifi

Tablet- want .. i rarely use my tablet but yet I pay 20 dollars a month for it to be used any and everywhere

Earphones- need .. i look at earphones as a privacy and curtious object . I don't pay for them they came with my phone

Apple Watch- my Apple Watch is in between a need and want . I'm very active so having an Apple Watch helps me balance my free time with school work and gym time.. I paid almost 400 for my Apple Watch

Tv-want .. I stopped watching tv along time ago .. having a phone allows me to stay updated with everything that's going on around the world.. I don't pay for tv

CLOSET/ DRESSER

Uggs + / very important for the bipolar weather! I paid 200 a piece for every pair of uggs that I own(need)

Coats, hoodies, scarves, jackets , sweaters- need ... traveling across campus in the winter is no joke !

Jeans, leggings, sweatpants- need ..

Makeup, hair products - want and need !!! I like to feel and look pretty however I know that most of the time that I spend doing my hair and makeup could go to something else. However being a college student involves social events where you want to look your best while meeting new people

Skirts , dresses, heels, crop tops - these items are debatable. As I mentioned before, sometimes we have to put on our best ..

These items are needs .. in order to be a successful student you have to be prepared at all times

TRANSPORTATION

Car

Gas

Money

Charger

All of these things are a need ! I don't live in campus and I do not know how to catch the bus so with that being said I need money to buy gas for the car !

EXTRAS

Noodles - need .. every college student can relate

Heat - need.. I'm anemic .. I will literally freeze to death

Microwave - need .. very convenient and easy

As I reviewed my list .. I find that a lot of things that I need , many people could do without . I think this is so because depending on how your brought up , your mind is exposed to things that we make ourselves believe is essential. If you've never had a car .. you won't see the importantace of a car versus someone who's always had a car. It all boils down to consumer culture

I am a female so if I was to compare my list to a males list .. I'm more than certain that I will have a longer list.

Lastly , it seems that I could save a lot of money if I eliminated my needs .. ( alternative needs )

I just have to ! I look at you several times a day and I'm sure others do too.

But where did you come from? Who created you ?

In today's post I'll talk about something that we all see ourselves in . A mirror....

According to a day entry made by Joseph Castro, published by live science. Mirrors got their first start in Germany almost 200 years ago.

A German chemist by the name of Justus von Liebig developed a thin layer of metallic silver to a clear glass and created something that we know as a mirror.

The same purpose that mirrors serve now happens to be the exact same for years. However as time goes on , many people have found different use for them. Ex: if someone is stranded a mirror can be used to help signal down people who are higher up. This can only take place in the day time because the sun plays a huge part in showing through the mirror to create a ray . Another example similar to the first one would be creating fire .. a mirror can catch the light from the sun and the ray from the sun will reflect else where where it will then begin to burn ( if left there long)

My use for a mirror is super important! Mirrors help me to see where I went wrong , where I got it right, when I need to screws up at . I'm sure many can agree

My first picture is an example of UNEVEN DEVELOPMENT . Demonstrated in the picture is and example of high end houses in comparison to cheaper living . As you can see, they are in the same area but separated by pavement. The second picture shows FLEXIBLE ACCUMULATION. Here is a picture of McDonald's in a totally different country . This is an example of offshoring TIME SPACE COMPRESSION- in the third picture I showed an example of a military man on face time with a relative . Often times there is a disconnect with families who are in different countries . Time space compression makes it much easier to talk and reach people who aren't near INCREASED MIGRATION- lastly the last picture shows multiple people trying to climb over a bridge . When I searched this picture I typed in "immigrants crisscrossing the boarder" I can conclude that a reason for their disbursement would be for better living ( no pictures are original, I obtained every picture from google images)

Good morning!

My name is nichkole Johnson, I am a sociology major. I am also a junior. I plan to learn as much as possible about anthropology as I can . I am looking forward to doing field work and getting to know at least a quarter of the class

My goal for this class is to become involved and to actually dedicate those 6 hours that the TAs recommended
