More live music, on bigger stages! Songs from Ireland at Liberty Hall, Lawrence, KS March 2022

Live music is back
Well, it's another St Patrick's Day in lockdown. Looking ahead to brighter days with this version of U2's Beautiful Day, created by Nick.
Wishing everyone a Happy St Patrick's Day and a safe Spring. See you all before long!
What do we do on a frigid Valentine's Day when it's too deathly cold to go outside? Jam some sweet Hall & Oates of course!
Hope you had a smooth Valentine's Day!
Another Carswell & Hope quarantine cover, just in time for Election Day. In case you are wondering if you are losing your mind, or this shitfest year will ever end. It will, but in the meantime, smooth 70s jams can help, too.
Very excited and honored to have put together a little song and video for Explore Lawrence’s “Lawrence Promise” campaign.Â
During the summer, I was asked to write a song to accompany the campaign to create safe and transparent community practices in response to COVID19. As the tune came together, a video idea showcasing how some businesses in Downtown Lawrence are dealing with safe practices came to mind. The result was an afternoon strolling around sunny Lawrence, and showcasing some great people and businesses.

Another #QuarantineCover, this time via Radiohead.
A little quarantine cover for you, from the vault of Peter Gabriel. Thanks to the inimitable and amazing Katlyn Conroy for lending her talents, yet again. Please stay safe, be well and look after each other!

In what can only be described as a bizarre series of escalating misjudgments, it turns out that I've now been at this songwriting malarkey for more than 20 years, there or thereabouts! Pretty wild.
I've had prolific periods and quieter spells. Songs have found their way onto records or been performed live in different incarnations. Some have taken different routes, and others still have yet to make it to anyone else's ears. As yet.
Anyway, it seemed like an auspicious enough occasion to give some of the words from my songs a little jaunt all of their own, in a short collection of poetry: Songs for Today
Some are pretty raw, some are verbatim from final studio recordings, and many others have been reworked for their new home on the page. It's been a fun process I started about more than 2 years ago.
24 pieces in all, shared in two parts, in a cute 5 x 8 "trade book" with some bonus photos, doodles and other little oddities of inspiration and insight.Â
You can get a copy shipped direct to your home for around $20 from Blurb.com. That’s currently the only place it’s available. I'll print some copies to sell at shows, eventually.
It's a little scary to put this out there, but to quote the titular piece:
Open up, You've got to let me in You're the only one who knows where I've been
