cywreck :
His impressive capacity to remain calm simmered some of Cyrek’s agitation, remaining on edge as he took a seat after draping his coat over the back of it. His disposition of skepticism stayed stone-still, settling in the chair and tucking his hands into his lap, mismatched eyes meeting the detective’s with a challenging air to it. His double-studded eyebrow piercings through his left eyebrow would make the gaze intimidating to just about anyone else in the world, but this guy’s homicide. He’s seen shit worse than Cyrek can ever dream. He had no doubt seen cases that would make seeing Alice’s body under the white sheet at the morgue feel second-rate by comparison. The detective’s face was familiar, but he couldn’t put a finger on it. Extensive time had passed since he had set foot in the office, and until recently, he hadn’t really lived here in years. Cyrek knew how to keep his head down and avoid the police, avoid getting a record after the offense that landed him in here as a teenager. If he was supposed to remember this guy, it wasn’t coming to the forefront of his mind. On the other hand, if the detective remembered him from whatever he can’t place, the mismatched eyes would give him away. Nobody can forget a man with gorgeously unique eyes like that, one a deep chocolate and the other a striking, leafy green. “I don’t want anythin’,” Cyrek said firmly, gaze slipping to the file on his desk and reading the name upside down. Alice Pallas-Dexicos. One of the photos was peeking out of the papers and sparked a nauseous sensation of stomach acid churning inside of him. Keeping up the tough guy act was difficult when the memories he had sought to bury flashed behind his eyes.
A sad sigh almost escaped him the longer he lingered on it, starting to deflate, only to tense up all over again when the detective clarified why he was here. Immediately, the fire his brother seemed to vehemently admire burned in his eyes again, narrowing his gaze, spitting venomously, “Right now? What fuckin’ allegations and suspicions? Come the fuck on! Does Manchester have nothin’ better to do than run around pinnin’ the fuckin’ blame on family? That monster she was livin’ with wasn’t family, where the fuck is he? Don’t you fuckin’ sit here and tell me I’m a fuckin’ suspect when I saved her from that fuckin’ monster that was our birth father, put my ass on the line for that little girl, like HELL I’d lay a fuckin’ hand on her!” His temper got the best of him, willing himself to take a deep breath and let it fade, the bitter gaze steeling into the detective until they dropped to the file then, blinking back tears. This isn’t doing jack shit to make him look good. Reaching into the pockets of his jeans, he produced his wallet and flipped it open, removing a photograph and a piece of paper, flicking them onto the table carelessly. Sue him for sentimentality, carrying that picture of bottle-feeding his baby sister around, and never bothering to get rid of the paper that informed him of the grant of custody for Orion, considering it’s been four years since Orion’s been legal. “Look, I raised that fuckin’ baby. That’s– they might as well be my fuckin’ kids, man. Wouldn’t have given up bein’ some normal teenager if… they didn’t need me. Just… get on with it, show me the pictures, ask me your questions, I don’t care, I was in Milan the whole week of the timeline. I already lost my sister. I already buried her. I’m gonna fuckin’ puke if you show me the body again, but I’ll fuckin’ look at it if you want me to,” he murmured, setting his wallet aside on the desk and running a hand through his hair, rolling up his sleeves that exposed his scars and forcing the tension to leave his body, “Just… don’t call her ‘victim’ when you talk about her. She has– had a name. She had dreams.”
twelve years on the force and four as a detective, and nick learned long ago that lashing out is a way to mask pain. he’s done it himself in the past, but he doesn’t let his expression change at the words spat at him with enough venom to melt walls. it’s not unusual, he’s seen it before; in fathers demanding justice, mothers who break into the office to yell at them, family who try to break into a crime scene. it’s mostly the same with these people, but he can understand where the emotions come from, and he doesn’t deny that his own anger would rival the one portrayed before his eyes. the silence falls into the office once again and nick is grateful for the blinds being drawn or there’d be a whole audience by the window. he waits for a beat longer before digging around the drawers of the desk and places a box of tissues on the table before his eyes fall on the photo on the table. he oversteps his boundaries for a minute and picks up the photo an examines it, his professional demeanor slipping into a softer, more natural state for a second. no harm in being understanding, especially when the situation reminds nick of his own childhood in its own way. if his own brother hadn’t been there, there’s a fifty fifty chance someone else would sit in this chair, questioning cyrek. “ beautiful picture. ” it’s all he dares comment without letting his professional integrity suffer, and the once-over he gives the custody paper results in a tired sigh. he runs his hands over his face and leans back in his chair, scribbling something else on his pad, underlining it twice before crossing his arms over his chest, fingers casually tapping the unloaded sidearm under his arm.
“ that was eight ‘fuck’s in the beginning there. cursed more when you were younger. ” he mumbles under his breath and stares at his case file, reorganizing his question in his head. bringing up old meetings, or old cases, was not accepted, but it was worth mentioning. questioning was about trust, and the man obviously wasn’t keen on either the place, or the nypd representative sitting in the room. it didn’t take long to recognize people, not when they had quirks, or physical characteristics that stuck to his mind. and who could forget that surname? there had been some talk about it in the break room after the incident. he lets the recognition fade away while he mulls the information; there’s something rotten about this case to begin with and he doesn’t want to dwell on it, in case the gut feeling doesn’t go away and he screws up his job. “ the pictures aren’t the main focus here. you’ve seen them once, and those pictures will stay in your head whether you want it or not. ” personal experience resonates in the words and nick stops his steely stare and instead runs both his hands over his face and through his gelled-back hair. he takes a drink from his coffee and pokes a stray paper back into the file, then moves it tot he side of the desk, only leaving his notepad in reach. he places botch his palms flat on the cold surface of the desk, takes a deep breath, ans speaks, “ now let me make something absolutely clear here. i get you’re upset, and i get it. shit hurts, but your contribution today might help us get leads on this man, the monster that got way. you’ve heard the phrase, the innocent have nothing to hide? the attitude is not helping. do you want us to send the manchester police helpful information, or a report on you being uncooperative and giving them even more reason to turn you into a full-fledged suspect? do you want alice to receive the justice she deserves, or do you want to end up behind bars for what happened to her? then let me do my job and find the cause to these accusations, and get tot he bottom of your innocence, since that seems to be the case here. ”
anabvlle :
One perk to Anabelle that everyone has always seemed to crave in her company: she knows how to turn a bad time into a good time. Sugarcoat it, spice it up, give it the missing ingredient it needs to make any awkward situation flare with anticipation. It was said in high school, one touch from her witchy hands and she could send sparks flying and electrify someone’s entire body. Now is the ideal time to utilize that to make her performance believable, nuancing through what she remembered from faking this and that around her parents. An unfortunate trait to acquire, but a must in a household that wanted something from her that she ultimately wasn’t. No introduction I’d come up with lives up to you. “Oh yeah, I’m a queen. I need no introduction,” the redhead spoke confidently, without sounding inflated, brushing her fingers through her vibrant hair and smiling up at him. After growing up with thousands of eyes watching her, whether that be peers waiting to see her turn out like her parents or people in high school staring at her in envy, she was unfazed by feeling the eyes of the other patrons in the coffee shop on her. It could be worse– he could still be alone in this predicament, facing off with this ex, and that would be beyond difficult. Nice to meet you. The southern drawl was refreshing, a bittersweet reminder of the place she had come to call home and shook her hand briefly.
Her next comment was the exact opposite of a nice to meet you, but again unmoved, Anabelle only smiled and waved at her, calling, “I’m older than you think I am, honey, just aged better than you!” She must still be at least a decade younger than the man. Mind, that didn’t stop her from getting knocked up by a guy with some age difference between them. Lamenting momentarily over that, she came crashing back into reality when he dropped his hand from her waist, turning her attention to him politely. “Hmm? Oh, don’t thank me, it’s no problem. I just couldn’t stand to see you embarrassed like that anymore. I mean, damn, does she have no shame? I wouldn’t put my kids through that…” Although it wasn’t her place, that had never stopped her from voicing an opinion. Laughing when he tried to humor her with a joke, the genuine, warm smile remained on her face, finding herself almost blushing now. “Oh, please, no more, I’m fine. Seriously. Are you okay? Do you need a minute to relax? My table is just over there, I have some time before my shift… Ana is my real name, by the way.” Gesturing toward the table she had left behind with her cream cheese bagel in waiting, her almond eyes fixated on his face, winking playfully and saying with the intent of lightening the mood, “Guess if you were my ex, I’d have a hard time letting go too. You’re kind of cute. Still totally embarrassing.” Patting him on the arm reassuringly and chuckling, Anabelle smoothed the wrinkles from her shirt now, gathering her composure. What a start to the day.
calling out after the ex with the age comment gave nick enough time to notice her shoulder twitch, like it always did when she was teetering on her breaking point. maybe it was his snort that triggered that subtle twitch he’s gotten used to. it doesn’t matter when she’s gone and the atmosphere settles and he’s ready to hear how he’s supposed to stand up for himself, but her sympathy is welcomed and he lets the surprise linger for only a moment. “ she’s a good mother, we just have our personal differences. kids as pawn are the last resort so she’s probably in a bad place. ” and his empathy for the ex-wife never fades, even after the two years they’ve been apart, as much as she fights him and insults him personally. he takes a long look after her, where her figure disappeared past the window and he sighs. it’s always worry, that’s the mother of his children after all, it’s all they’ve got. the good times threaten to come back and a part of him still wants to excuse himself and run after the woman who humiliated him in front of the whole cafe but he forces his attention back to ana when her laugh is louder than his wife’s voice in his head. he matches her smile. the reply to her question is a nod and a shrug at the same time, and he spreads his hands to his sides with another short chuckle, “ better now, i’m not petrified anymore. downgraded to terrified. good? ” he grimaces, a playful edge to it. she seems okay at least, and that’s saying a lot when he doesn’t talk to many civilians anymore, least of all woman younger than him. it’s noticeable too, when he registers her wink and he almost chokes on his own tongue. he hides the cough and laugh, a throaty “ what ” that brings out the lower bass of his voice before it disappears again.
“ jesus, thanks, i guess. sounds like a lie, but it made me feel a bit better. ” he pats his chest to clear out the last of is need to cough. “ still totally embarrassing though, can’t disagree. ” the last, low dad-rumble clears his throat and he gestures towards the table and takes a seat after she has, his coffee already cold when he takes a sip from it. he makes a face but rolls with it, only now realizing he missed his chance to make a cool introduction. like he hadn’t lost his chance to be cool since the beginning. “ oh right, i’m phoenix, nick for short since phoenix is really hippie-ish and only acceptable if my surname was wright. nice to meet you. genuinely, not the way my wife said it. ” he shifts on his seat and reaches over the table to shake her hand, realizing how awkward it might seem after just faking a relationship for a few minutes. maybe the other patrons could forget it, in time.
@nickdern
“Fuckin’ pigs,” the musician muttered under his breath, throwing his duffel bag aside in the bus and informing his bandmates he would be back soon enough. Of course, his day off couldn’t be spent going to meet his wife, beckoned by the police to come in for something about Alice. Why the fuck do they want to know about Alice? Her case was dealt with in England, there’s no reason to have it migrated here, and he chalked it up to some Sid Vicious bullshit, hissing under his breath while he pulled on his coat and headed down the steps of the bus and down the street. Police were a sore spot for him and it always would be, not just because of the murder but because of Manchester PD’s lack of finding any justice for his brother’s assault. Absolutely no justice was served to those rats that ripped him up to shreds and stole his voice from him. That aside, his reputation as a punk rock musician shaped the perspective that the police did little to help. What had they ever done for people that didn’t look like the normal passerby coming down the street? For the people with the piercings, tattoos, weird hair, music, style and their admonishment of the government because come on, Brexit is going to fucking ruin the United Kingdom and God only knows that the current president is prepared to shred the States, burn it all the fuck down already. What happened to that stipulation in the Constitution that said burn this shit to the ground if it’s hurting the people? Well, it’s been hurting punks, among other demographics, for three decades with violence and arrest, nobody’s doing shit for them. the police had little kindness to spare in their direction. As far as he’s concerned, the police of today would be just as likely as the police of yesterday to accuse someone of something before evidence is collected. Forgive his cynicism, it’s merely the product of that bitter, angry kid that shoved his family into foster care and partially grew up on the streets.
Listening to the beat of his own music inside of his head, ingrained in his memory, the bassline brought out the lyrics of palpable depression that followed the murder, demeanor becoming sullen the more he thought about it. Have you heard the news that you’re on your own? Wrapping his arms around his waist, pretending he was trying to shield himself from the cold breeze when in actuality, he was attempting to provide himself with some vague comfort, Cyrek hiked up the steps to the police department. A moment of significant hesitation came then, acknowledging he would be endlessly badgered if he didn’t make an appearance today, wrapping his nimble fingers around the handle and letting out a slow breath. Time to fly to the moon again, why the fuck not? Wrenching the door open and stepping inside, he glanced around momentarily, recalling the lobby from when he was sixteen and sitting in one of these chairs waiting to be called in, some bitter, angry kid that got fed up and vandalized a high school employee’s car. That time seems aged now; the years haven’t been generous to him and he would admit, on occasion, the rough times aged him. It looks the same, more or less, a little paint chipped off the walls. “I’m supposed to talk to Detective Dern,” he mumbled, mismatched eyes following the direction the receptionist pointed him to and heading for it without much more than a passing thanks, letting himself into the room. “You wanted to see me,” he said, not bothering to hide the coldness in his tone, removing his coat and asking impatiently, “What the fuck do you want? I gotta be on the road again by tonight and frankly– this case is supposed to fuckin’ closed. Alice was interred over two years ago.”
there was a special sort of movie magic when he walked into his office that morning, tired as all hell and trying to squint through the sleep still clinging to his eyes. the case file still lays open on his desk when he gets to it and he knows he doesn’t have much time to prepare for the interview scheduled to that day. the receptionist informs him it’s in an hour and he nods, offers her a smile, and heads towards one of the offices used for less than criminal interrogations. an hour to pour through the testimonies and reading up on the new suspect. his feet are unceremoniously propped up on the desk while he reads the file, but as soon as he hears the door handle turn he pulls his legs down and closes the file, taps it against the table to straighten it out. the motion is halted when the man goes on the offensive defense straight of the bat and nick nods slowly for himself. he lays the file on the table and gestures at the table. he’s used to aggressive persons by now, but somewhere in his mind he hopes it doesn’t end up with a scuffle. he doesn’t speak up before the man sits down, only taking a drink from his coffee that will eventually be forgotten on the desk while he commences the interview.
“ i’m aware you’re a busy man, mr. pallas-dexicos, musicians understandably always are. would you want something to drink before we start? coffee, tea? ” it’s an easy choice to let the profanity and offense fly over his head and roll with the politeness instead. there’s a whole different m.o if this was a full-on interrogation but looking at the evidence already gives nick enough to treat this like a questioning instead. the case is gruesome, and it confuses him when he flips the file open again and reads over the verdict. the culprit was found, taken into custody, bailed out, disappeared. he doesn’t judge the english police per se, but his brows knit in irritation when he reads the report over. the culprit disappeared into thin air, and they didn’t set up a man-hunt for him? nick takes a breath and shakes his head, putting on the most professionally accurate smile he can, lets it melt into something more natural over time. “ you’re absolutely right, this was a closed case, but new allegations and suspicions have arisen which prompted the manchester police to reopen it. i’m just here to lend them an international hand, you are by no means under arrest as of now, but we’d appreciate your cooperation so the both of us can get on with our jobs quicker, yeah? ” he interlaces his fingers and leans to the desk, scrutinizes the punk rocker before him in one quick sweep. he doesn’t seem too nervous. aggravated, spiteful, sure, but that’s what fifty percent of new york thought about the police, it was nothing new, and it didn’t even hurt anymore.
anabvlle :
Her initial thought is oh my god, this is the most embarrassing, awkward situation I have ever had to witness in my entire life. What else can she do but observe when she was going for the door herself? It would be weird to back up and leave, so the redhead was left with her eyebrows raised in utter shock and disbelief, her gaze flickering between the man and the woman. How dense can this woman be to the fact that her presumed ex clearly does not want her touching him or kissing him and whatever else she’s doing right now? Her words were sweet and unrealistic, wincing in secondhand embarrassment. That hardly ever works. While her parents never split up or got a divorce, she grew up with a lovely girl she came to view as her sister that went through a divorce and it threw her into a cynical perspective of the subject. For the kids were words she specifically deciphered from the atrocious jumble, lifting her hand to her mouth with a horrified expression on her face. Who would try to reconcile a marriage for the kids if they had already split? That would just hurt those poor kids mentally more than it already had…
Realizing it wasn’t her business, Anabelle lowered her hand as soon as she could manage to put on a neutral expression again, turning off her emotions like a switch. His response was pathetic to a woman who knew how to muster up the confidence of a rockstar, and it was borderline painful to see him flounder and struggle. Especially when he looked her way as if she could do something to save him. Looks like she has no other choice, she thought, gracefully stepping forward with a firm clicking of her high heels on the linoleum, approaching him. A huge grin on her face, she wrapped her arm around the man’s waist and leaned up to press a kiss to his cheek, chirping happily, “Hey, don’t I deserve a better introduction than that? That is me you’re talking about, doll.” Her demeanor warm and friendly, she extended her free hand to the ex in question after she had waved in greeting, introducing herself flawlessly, “Ana. I’ve heard all about you and the kids. You look absolutely radiant today, I must say, where did you get those shoes?” A question should delegate the perfect distraction for small talk that they can use to slip away. “So sorry we haven’t met before now! You know Nick and how busy he is, he wanted us to meet under the right circumstances. Guess this is just a happy coincidence, huh?”
the sense of relief washes over him when he sees the woman step up to help him, and he tries his hardest not to let it show. it’s a quick adaption and when the weight of her arm presses against the back of his shirt, he returns the gesture as well as he can without seeming like a creep. it looks natural at least, and he beams when she plays all in and doesn’t half ass it - the ex-wife always knows what’s up if it’s a play. he helps her with the peck on his cheek and doesn’t even have to fake the blush on his cheeks, it has been some time since he even pretended to be in a relationship, let alone dealt with pda. the ex on the other hand, look dumbfounded. she’s dropped her purse and looks between them and in some twisted way, nick feels happy about it. “ no introduction i’d come up with lives up to you, i’ve noticed. ” he replies with as radiant happiness as he can muster under the extremely awkward situation. from his peripheral vision he can see some people look over their shoulders in disbelief, but as long as the wife doesn’t realize, everything’s fine. he takes a deep breath and holds back a chuckle that threatens to escape his throat when ana goes on about the shoes, the confusion and bitterness evident on the ex’s face. “ i was going to wait until thanksgiving, surprise the family but you beat me to it. a happy coincidence, really. ” he smiles at the woman who looks like she’s about to implode. she splutters something about ‘nice to meet you’ like any southern belle would, the venom in her words obvious to the trained ear. she gives them a tight smile and yanks the bag over her shoulder, shoves the purse into it and strides away with heavy steps, some nearly enough to shatter the floor beneath them. ‘come pick up the kids sunday. oh and honey, he’s too old for you, move on.’ it’s as cold as expected from a woman showed her place, and as soon as the cafe door chimes shut and her silhouette disappears around the corner, nick drops his hand from ana’s waist and lets out a sigh he knows he’s been keeping for the last fifteen minutes.
“ jesus christ, she’s relentless. you really saved my behind today. thank you. ” he runs a hand through his hair and lets the nervous energy buzzing in his veins vane out before turning to her. he shakes the hand that’s not holding the coffee and stretches his neck from side to side, almost compulsively wishing to do jumping jacks to get rid of the nasty feeling the meeting left behind. the onlookers give it a rest, and nick returns his attention to ana, a relieved smile still playing on his face. “ i’d be happy if they brought out some hidden cameras now, or do i have to accept that stunts like that happen in real life? shit, not ready for that. you okay after all that, you didn’t turn into stone under her gaze? ”
running into your twice ex-wife was nothing new in the small area of queens, or that’s what nick thinks when he runs into her in the coffee shop he so often frequents after work. his hand had been on the handle, his entire being ready to leave when she had grabbed him by the shoulder and hopped into a loud, prolonged hey to greet him. he returns the smile politely even if hers is sugary sweet and exaggerated, and not they stand on the side of the shop. she’s doing the chatting and he replies where it’s necessary. she touchy, and smiley, and he fiddles with the cup in his hands while looking around the shop. there’s a tingle in his arms that remind him he should get home soon, to relax and wash away all the stress from today but she keeps talking. what is she talking about? our kids. grown up. work. back together. love. better for them. he doesn’t listen but nods along until he feels her slender fingers grab him and it’s too late to pull away by the time she’s already giving him a big old smooch.
“ why can’t we work this out? we did it once before, i’m sure you’re reasonable. for the kids. ” nick stares at her, wide eyed and blurts out something along the lines of “ i’m seeing someone else. ” his voice cracks and goes way too high and he feels her skeptical eyes on him before, a perfectly arched eyebrow accompanying her silent accusations. her hands pull away from his skin, leaving behind something akin to icicles and it stings, makes him tense, but nick keeps up a forceful smile just to keep the scene any other emotion would cause. he grips his coffee with he ferocity of a man in pain until his ex goes to dig through her bag, clearly not believing a word he’s spouting and perhaps looking for evidence now. the shop around them is bustling and her eyes are still on her belongings, so he scans the room for someone he might know and his focus lands on someone who happens to look right at them. it’s a risk but he mouths ( help me please ), glances at his ex and then back at them, hoping that his weak pleading expression does anything, anything to have someone save him from a situation he would never win.

If you could turn back time where would you go?
“ there’s a lot of vagueness going on here. do you mean in time, as in centuries, decades, or are you talking about where i would go in my personal life? in that case there’s two answers. if it’s the first case, i’d go back to the renaissance ages to check out the outrage, maybe have a hoot with davinci while i was there, watch dudes paint dicks on ceilings, live that time when the world was reinventing itself. and that’s the heartfelt, cute answer. the other one takes a darker turn. if i had to go back in my own time, i’d go to the time when my mom had it the worst.what’s the point of going back and reliving happy moments if you could go back and change things? knowing what i do now, i’d try to convince her she’s a good mother and that her mental problems aren’t an obstacle, that she can do it and she’ll get better in the future. i’d help her find her own help, and tell my dad to back the fuck off and shut his trap. i’d save some heartache from myself in the process, and could prevent her from getting sucked into the void of her own mind. it’s be nice to see her happy sooner, and not struggling with being here. and that’s just if i could influence what happened. ”
It was early Saturday morning, the weather was cooperating well so Garrett brought his two daughters outside to get some fresh air and play.“You won’t believe what just happened.” Garrett was filtering his laughter while his four year daughter, Mikaela, ran out of his arms and went to join her sister as they tried to reach the monkey bar. He was relaxing on the other side of the playground, sipping on his white plastic cup of coffee. “She ran up to me, up here in my ear and said she was going steal as many forks as she could to take down the government. It would be effective, she added, since no one would see it coming. Kids do say the darnest things, huh?” Flashing pearly white smile, Garrett turned to the person beside him for confirmation.
visiting the park was a rare treat for nick on weekdays, but after his kids were dropped off for the week it was the first place he decided to go ( and caving to their demands was a part of it ). he was never keen on starting conversations with the other parents there but all the benches were occupied and he had sat himself down next to some other guy, completely focused on his own kids, and only partly on the bombardment of messages on his phone, yet ready to spring into action if something went wrong. his hawk-like alertness was torn from the offspring when he heard the gravel crunch under quick footsteps next to him and he saw a kid run up to the man on the bench. nick offers him a polite smile, expecting no conversation to brew from it but it still does and he own up to the situation. “ oh yeah, my son keeps going on about how bananas are nasa spying thingamadoodles, just because he doesn’t like them. i’m afraid i’m raising the next alex jones. ” mentioning his son makes nick check on the kids, both of them still peacefully playing in the sandbox. “ sounds like they’d get along. they’d take down the government all by thems- mila! stop eating the sand! ” the four-year-old stops mid-chomp and puts her hand back down and aggressively pats the castle she’d built and nick lets out a sigh, his hair pushed back when he leans against the back of the bench. “ jesus christ with that girl, she’ll eat anything she gets her hands on. what is a man supposed to do? hope yours are better behaved or i really feel for you buddy. ”
Dogs or cats?
“ unfair. i can’t believe you’ve done this. i will take both, because i love both. i’ll fight anyone who talks shit about either one. if i had my way, i’d raise fifteen dogs and eight cats in my small-ass apartment and greet anyone knocking on my door with kittens on my shoulders and two dogs in my arms. i fucking love pets, especially dogs and cats. you can’t persuade me to choose just one. i’ll literally look you in the face and play the windows shutting off tone if you do, full volume, full offense. ”
What was growing up like for you?
“ i have no damn clue. i mean, i remember very little from when i was a kiddo but i remember some core parts. it wasn’t good, not gonna lie. my mom was an alcoholic, had been since my older brother was born. she was diagnosed with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and had some other issues with her health, which took a toll on her and prevented her from taking proper care of me, and really just tipped her over the edge some times. not gonna go into great detail but she could be violent, and thankfully my brother was there to save li’l old me from her outbursts. but i loved her, she wasn’t all bad! we’re good now too, she’s sobered up and turned her life around. my dad wasn’t the best either, but i can’t say much about him since we didn’t live with him. he was a trucker and was only home for the weekends, and i was supposed to see him on those weekends but didn’t want to go since we had no relationship to build on. most times i went it was just so i could see my brother, since he still lived at dad’s place, being older and all. mom had a new boyfriend, dad got a new lady, cps were called on my mom, and my grandma got custody.
and that’s just my family! woo, look at me whine about my ‘terrible’ upbringing, and i’m already feeling like i’m saying too much but i committed to this answer. school was shit, got bullied since third grade, i think? i always thought it was because i was a chubster, but i’ll never know. i never did my homework, lied about homework to my grandma, and stopped paying attention to my grades, people got mad, i was sent to a therapist of some sort, check out those two diagnoses that prove my head is fucked. grandma said that it’s genetic apparently, like mother, like son. bam bam, sad shit happened and i won’t get into detail here. upgrade the friendship and i just might. thanks, next question. ”
Favorite movies?
“ mad max: fury road. hands down, i won’t even mention any other movie. i even have the game because, c’mon, it was a great movie. i went to see it thrice in the same month and never got sick of it. the effects, the stunts, the make-up, the acting? melts my god damn heart to see that sort of professionalism. and the script was great, not gonna lie, even if you could sum it up to ‘tom hardy and friends drive to get some more water, then they drive right back’. ten outta ten, would watch again. and i’m gonna. other movies i’ve seen don’t even hold a candle to it, not in my opinion. just waiting for the hollywood peeps to brew up a saint’s row film and i’m sold all over again. ”
What are your hobbies?
“ the usual. i go to the gym a lot, gotta keep up with my cardio if i wanna keep my job. i read some, but that’s been further down the list of interests. karaoke is high up though, i love that since i can mess with people with the bass voice. athletic things are the only qualifying as a hobby though, but i’d love to get into singing again. have you ever heard of a singing detective? you’d laugh your ass off before realizing you’re being arrested. i play a lot of video games on my days off, and drinking happens more than i like to admit. does procrastinating count? that’s like my main hobby by now. but nothing i actually, consciously put time and effort into while thinking of it as a hobby. i just do all sorts of shit. ”
what is your ultimate goal in life?
“ that’s a hard one, never thought i’d even make this far in my life so i never made a plan. learning to live my life without worrying about what others think about me would be one goal, and i’m pretty well into that already. the usual cliche where i say ‘live as well as i can, don’t regret anything in the end’ might apply, but i don’t feel like i can say that. helping as many people as possible is not any better but that’s something i can do, like helping my family ( not you, dad ) and watch them live comfortably without any worries. that’d be nice. just work hard enough so they don’t have to stress about anything anymore. see my girls grow up without being afflicted by the same issues i was when i grew up, and support them through their whole life. that’s a goal; seeing my closest people happy before i kick the bucket. hi, i’m basic. ”
