Authors and publishers, who are suing OpenAI, secured access to internal Slack messages and emails discussing the deletion of pirated books.
Last month, AI company Anthropic agreed to a blockbuster $1.5 billion settlement after being caught red-handed training its models on an enormous cache of pirated versions of copyrighted books and other material. Now, a similar lawsuit aimed at ChatGPT maker OpenAI has taken a dramatic turn, raising the possibility of yet another major legal escalation regarding AI-facilitated copyright infringement — and a potentially much bigger payout to rightsholders. Specifically, authors and publishers who filed a lawsuit against the Sam Altman-led firm have secured access to internal Slack messages and emails discussing the mass deletion of a pirated books dataset, Bloomberg reports. A New York district court ordered OpenAI to hand over the communications regarding data deletion last week. According to the publication, the communications could demonstrate willful infringement, potentially leading to enhanced damages of up to $150,000 per work, a massive increase from just $750.
...Wow, who knew we were going to need to inhabit another Earthlike planet just to raise enough popcorn...!
I know this is a cultural thing, but my face still scrunch up whenever I see someone with shoes and boots on indoors. (No shoes = less dirt on said floors so you don't have to have the shoes on. And less stinky feet.)
Existential dread today so painted some dead people.
New album by Anna von Hausswolff just dropped and it includes this one with Ethel Cain.
Henson got a haircut and he's both really happy and doesn't like it. Probably because it got really cold due to the the rain.
I've spend a week and a half being sick and that has meant being uncreative as fuck. So getting back to drawing.
Various types of elven drawings.
Normally I only do these around Halloween on the twitters but I'd gladly draw some small icons. Sadly money is an issue this summer so I hope to make a few of these at least.

Started to reread Spire and had to doodle a person.
I had forgotten I had posted here last year. Whoops, memory disappears in ahdh haze I guess.
Anyway, with the way social media is going I found myself missing the photo community that was here ages ago. Don't know if the others are still around, probably not in some cases. Flooded away with the anti-porn sweeps I guess.
But yeah. I miss people. (The art people too, so not just the photography folks.)
Got in a missing the Planescape group mood today so had to draw more tieflings — turned out to be a goth noir one. Marrow has pink skin and corroded rust hair.
I've been thinking about Planescape — or similar, because even if I love Planescape I always feel DnD is not the right rules for it — and as such I'm doodling character ideas. I did a gorgon tiefling yesterday but that one is currently patreon only.
Might even have to redraw my previous far realms tiefling warlock Second-To-Last-May-You-Fare-Better-Than-Your-Brothers...
never thought I’d find myself retrospectively wishing my puberty had additional lore but here we are
Design thoughts
Back when I used this site regularly, I had a custom design with cut-marks and CMYK squares and all and ti was great until it broke. Then I just picked one that seemed okayish. But if I'm going to want to use this I want it to be a bit better than that — still do not have patience to do something from scratch again. I'll save that for a proper website.
And You know what? This free theme works. The type options could have been better, but then again, can't they always?
hey netizens! i'm not sure how many people are aware, but youtube's been slowly rolling out a new anti-adblock policy that can't be bypassed with the usual software like uBlock Origin and Pi-Hole out of the gate
BUT, if you're a uBlock Origin user (or use an adblocker with a similar cosmetics modifier), you can add these commands in the uBlock dashboard to get rid of it!
youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0) youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, []) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)
reblog to help keep the internet less annoying and to tell corporations that try shit like this to go fuck themselves <3
Where do I copy-paste these to? "My filters"? "My Rules"?
'my filters'! if you look closely you'll notice the format is different between the two pages. the (website)(##)(additional text) format goes in filters
