March 13 2016 - a not-so-surprise advance birthday party
I am not a sweet person. I am not the type who would go through all lengths just for somebody. But somehow, I try to be one for him. Heck, I must be going bonkers. 😂
3 months ago, I saw an ad on facebook about this “ball pit for adults” and I thought, “Hey, this place seems pretty cool!”. So there I was copying the link and sending it to my boyfriend. And because we love things like this, without a moments hesitation, I booked a sched for two and paid it a day after.
A week after, I figured out that since the boyf’s birthday is coming, why not celebrate it there instead! So off I go and started with “operation surprise birthday party”. The first thing I did was e-mail ballpitmanila asking about their group rate and if I could change out reservaton from 2 people to a group. Since a lot of people were also booking, our slot was already full. And because we can’t change our booking to a group, the best we could do was choose another date and time. I was getting a little worried but BallPit Manila team was very accommodating. They gave me all available options and helped me a lot. You guys are amazeballs, really! And yes, pun intended. 😂 Because of Ballpitmanila’s awesome people, we were able to choose a date.
Since step one was done, time to do step two: invite! The first people I invited were our friends from work. I also invited his highschool friends but not until a week before our schedule. Lol! I was a little hesitant and shy because I thought they didn’t like me. Haha! Yes, I know, I have issues. XD It turns out they were very sweet and helped me invite other people. 💛
Invitation done, now comes the fun part: the party. I asked everyone to be on the venue before we arrive but the boyf might have sensed something that he kept insisting we go to ballpitmanila early. I kept distracting him and telling him it’s still too early. He kept insisting and saying we might get stuck in traffic. I gave in and we left at 5:30pm (our sched was at 6). So off we go, hailed a cab and lo and behold! Traffic was okay, and we got there in 10 minutes! The moment we got off the cab, he saw our officemates. MAJOR FACE PALM. 😂😂 He looked at me, grinned from ear to ear and said, “I knew it!” Ughhhh. Surprise has been foiled! Lol! Well, not really. His highschool friends weren’t there yet and they were the main surprise because he hasn’t been able to hang out with them lately so yey for being late! Haha!
We got in, changed our socks and played. We played like little kids. We dived, jumped, swam and threw balls at each other. It was soooo fun feeling like a kid again. It helped relieve stress from work and from everyday adult life. Adulting can be very very stressful at times. 😂
A few minutes later, his highschool friends arrived. I went to the boyf and told him some people arrived that he may know. He looked at them, then looked at me and flashed his signature smile. Oh swoon! Haha! 😍 He went out of the pit and went to his friends with a skip. Lol! He can be a little kid sometimes. 😂
A few moments later, we got out our cake, lit the candles and sang him a happy birthday. He looked like a little boy smiling, holdng his cake while peole sang for him. Adorable as always. 😊 And oh, BallpitManila also gave him a free treat because it was his birthday. So sweet of them. 😊
Our sched ended after an hour and the people after us started coming in. We had to request to stay for a few minutes because we had to take a breather. Too tiring. Hahaha!
Our BallPit Manila was an experience that is one for the books. The photos and videos can never do justice at showing how much fun we had during our stay there. The surprise didn’t go as planned but seeing the boyf’s smile from ear to ear the whole time we were there was enough. Seeing him enjoy every bit of it was worth everything. ❤
Hey, I guess I’m not going bonkers, I guess I’m just in-love. But then again, what difference do they have? 😂
