The start screen. When a user first opens the app, a 3 slide information guide will appear. The slide gives the users a general idea of the app’s functionality and will make them engage with the users before even arriving at the homescreen.

Try out the demo
I created the demo for Parlay, to make a realistic prototype for my tutors/students/everyone to engage with!
Okay so this is exciting. Once a user have chosen a professional to talk to, then they’ll get directed to the user’s profile.
There they can get relevant information about the professional, such as background, language spoken, awards won etc etc.
Once the professional is ready to chat, then you’ll go to the chat page, which works like skype, but more simple. You can see the professional on the screen and write below the chat, attach files if you need any advices. If you just want to talk, then simply rotate the ipad 90 degree (horizontal) to have a full screen chat experience.
Once the user have used the advanced search (this example Chief Executive Officers aka CEO’s) then a list of professionals will appear. The user gets 4 pieces of information, Name, Company, Country and of course the image of the professional.
If users want more control of their search critics, then Parlay have the advanced search tool. Here one can set a day and time for the chat. Choose what kind of business the talker is in. Also decide if they want a private, group or a free session chat. You can decide how many years of experience the person you’re talking to should have.
This is a really good feature to have for an app like Parlay
The advanced menu appears by swiping right. Here the users can switch from Top Speakers (most popular), your favourites, search, chats, your profile, help, sign out.
Homescreen for the iPad.
Presenting Parlay!
Parlay is an Ipad application focused on connecting the industry professionals with students. On this platform students can discover, book and chat with various people from different industries.
Parlay understand that humanity is at the core of the sharing economy and self-improvement, is a big thing.
Our App improves the interaction between users and professionals in industry, by having an in-app system allowing our users to research, prebook and have live chats with people straight from the app.
All this will let our users have an effortless chat experience, while pre booking talks and discover new people in the industry.
I want to create something like that, to show the functions of app and how all the screens connect with each other. Hopefully I have the time to do it.
Just a wireframe of facebook new design.
A website I really like is skillshare. On this site, users can watch tutorial videos of basically everything they like. Mostly the creators teach users how to learn different programs or basic skills like knitting and sewing stuff and much much more. The site is simply designed, simple to use and overall just a great tool for curious creators all around the world.
So completely changed my initial idea from a website, to be an ipad app. This is mainly because most professionals are always on the go and an ipad based application would be more handy for them. This is a better option for people in the industry, instead of using a big clunky laptop.
Wireframe sketch of the home page
The Parlay IDEA sketch. My handwriting isn’t the best, but I think you should be able to read it.
The app info
The name is Parlay (French for exchanging conversations) and it makes talking to professionals in the industry easy. It is made for students to engage with industry people.
The app is free to use for students and professionals. The user can either have a private chat, group chat or an improvement skill chat (Ex. language improvement)
If you check out the most popular websites in the world based on the traffic it generates, you will sometimes notice web addresses that go by the names of livejasmin.
This articles from therichest.com explains the working roles of webcam girls, what they need to do and how much they’ll get paid.
Further on, it explains how the website makes money and charges a commision for users to use the service.
4th of December
I came into class today, to talk to Dan about my process and ideas.
I explained that I have had an idea about creating a platform for students and professionals, where you can communicate with each other and live chat.
He liked the idea, but wanted me to express how exactly it would work. I told him to imagine it as a sex chat for professional people in the industry, where the customers then would be students or young adults.
Basically the student would have the choices of either live chatting with one professional person (Private chat) for a one time fee or he/she could join others in the same field to talk with the professional in a live group chat, which would be cheaper.
My task now is to find out how online chat’s work and how they charge their users.
