HERE IT IS. The most terrified I’ve ever been on camera. Thank da fucking lord Hannah Hart is a chill, cool person. And big shout out to Grace for just laughing her ass off as I feverishly sweated. HAPPY ST PATTYS!
Sorry we suck y’all. We will get better at posting I promise. (we probably shouldn’t make promises like that)
In honor of heyusashow season 2 and the love we have for the show, we had to share the picture we took on our very own love wall in Lafayette. Also, I (Brittni) had to post this picture because of my love for Nicole and how much I am missing her these days. I’m so thankful for her and our friendship, and I can’t wait for more HeyUSA so we can continue to be the weirdest little weirds you ever did see.
WE’RE BACK! i’m sorry.... but Brico lives
THE GRACE HELBIG SHOW PREMIERES FRIDAY APRIL 3RD AT 10:30PM! GET READY, BUTTHOLES!
Since heyusashow has been creeping around lately, and we are patiently waiting to figure out why, we want to show our love and support for the wonderful craziness we know as HeyUSA. Thank you heyusashow, mamrie, and gracehelbig for your constant love and support! Nicole and I wouldn’t have half of the memories we do without y’all.
Thoughts of the Day...
The internet is a weird place.... I say this in the best possible way though. 15 even 10 years ago, you didn't find friends online and talk to them everyday. It wasn't often that you would make best friends online and fly out to see them when you could. You talked to the people you knew and if you did meet people online it was through a chat-room on dial up internet that you could only be on for a little while before someone in your house needed the phone. In the summer of 2010 i met the first group of girls that i would consider my internet friends. We bonded via twitter over season 7 of So You Think You Can Dance and talked almost every day. We would FaceTime each other, Skype, TinyChat, etc. All of my friends thought it was weird that i was talking to these 8 girls, that i had never met, almost every day. It seemed totally normal for me. Fast forward to 2013 and I started one of my best friendships over a Facebook message. True, takingonmerlin and I were introduced and met through a mutual friend in December that year, but with only knowing of each other we became Facebook friends and started messaging back and forth before we met. Brittni lives 1,220 miles away but yet we talk every single day. I mean we even brought our weird friendship to the internet via some HeyUSA reenactments. We've flown or drove multiple times to meet up & vacation together for a week. We know each other's family & friends. It's the best friendship. Fast forward to December of 2014 when i met two of the greatest humans i know. First time ever going to an internet related comedy show, by this i mean TMGWY. I brought along a friend who had no cares over anything internet related and basically just came along because 1- i forced her and 2- just for the get away. We didn't feel like we fit in. She didn't care about the internet and I was that weird 1/2 of the two girls that did reenactments of the two people i was about to watch. Standing in line, texting Brittni about the whole situation, i met megvord & ms-mia. Megan & Mia will tell you that they had already planned on finding a way for us to be friends that night (their version of the story is pretty damn great). Lots of talking, 4 fireball shots, a few mixed drinks, and some great laughs later I had made new friends FROM OREGON. That night i called Brittni and told her all about these two girls i met. Since then the four of us have talked almost every day. These girls have become 2 of the best friends i could have, even if i have to keep up with them via texts and social media posts. BUT if it weren't for the internet i wouldn't have met these two girls, i wouldn't have gotten to know Brittni as quickly, i wouldn't have met those 8 girls from SYTYCD that i still talk to, and i wouldn't continue to meet new people almost every single day. Whether that be through mutual friends, fandoms, YouTube videos, or those incredibly strange reenactments! The internet did that. Think about how many people on the internet share the same likes, interests, hobbies, dislikes, fandoms, stories, and more as you do. SO MANY PEOPLE! There are so many great people on the internet and so many great friendships are made on the internet. Now i'm not saying to become BFFs with the next stranger that likes your post or facebook messages you, but you never know who you might meet out there! I've received some of the greatest support, love, and advice from people i've met through the internet. I wouldn't trade them for the world even if we all live in different states (some in different countries). They've been parts of the biggest moments in my life, even if they weren't physically there!
I'm done rambling now. This is just something i've been thinking about all day as Mia and Megan have been so supportive & kind to both myself and Brittni over the last few weeks. And now that they need that kindness, love, and support back we didn't skip a beat when they needed it. Even when they were down they made sure we were okay and they deserve the same amazing friendship they give. Basically this was all just to say that i love the internet for being the reason i met Megan, Mia, and any other friends i have made through this strange, beautiful place!
Sometimes you bring along a GoPro and video your shenanigans. What better shenanigans to video than a Louisiana Mardi Gras!
Community Post: 20 Times "TakingonMerlin" Was Actually Mamrie Hart And Grace Helbig
These girls may not have lives, but they definitely have talent.
Let me tell you a couple of things about Nicole and Brittni, the girls behind takingonmerlin. These two girls are incredible. Truly. While they may quip that they don't have lives, it's also not true. Nicole and Brittni are hardworking 20-somethings, who both have a killer sense and humor and hearts of gold.
But if for some crazy reason you don't care about them personally, then let me tell you about how awesome the stuff they create is. I'll admit that I haven't seen them on a shoot in person, but I've seen a lot of behind the scenes footage, and been in on a few planning conversations. These girls don't just set out to take a couple of photos that hopefully resembles their favorite duo. They scout locations, procure costumes, and then, because they live in two different states, find time to make it happen. During the shooting process they use a hell of a lot of creativity to replicate photos as exactly as they can. They don't just pay attention to location and outfit, but also to facial expression and the ways Grace and Mamrie carry themselves. These aren't just reenactments, they're works of art.
But what really, truly, captures the spirits of the brilliant and talented Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart, is the friendship that Brittni and Nicole share. It is the love, support, and of course laughter, that these girls share that makes their photos so spot-on. I'd say that Nicole is the Grace to Brittni's Mamrie, but with friendship like this they don't need to be anyone but themselves.
Now I might be a little biased because I am crazy-proud and incredibly fortunate to call Nicole and Brittni my friends. But you don't have to trust me, just take a look at the pictures.
