The Art of Love ||College AU with Niedlich-liech
âOne cup of tea for you,â Alfred smiled as he set a ceramic cup in front of Elise, the cup with floral design was her favorite, or so she said to him at least. He made sure to place everything she liked, just enough milk and sugar. He even placed a small plate to add up the ambiance of it all. He wanted everything to be perfect, just for her.  âAnd one cup of coffee for me.â He smiled and set his mug down, carefully, making sure it wonât be in the way of anything later,  especially his art.  â Thanks for letting me stay here for a while , babe.â He grinned and sat down in front of her and took his paint brush. â Canât concentrate with my roommates around. And this project is due tomorrow.â He groaned, ah, the pains of college.
" Thank you, Alfred." She smiled at her boyfriend, her happiness. She let it sit there for a bit, cooling it , just so it won't burn her tongue with just a single sip. At times she felt as if he was too kind to her, but she of course returns the favor. " You're welcome now, go on, it's already night, start working on it." She smiled and picked up her book, reading from where she left off.

((oh oh some russliech or engliech and like cute coffee shop au where Ivan is an artist or Arthur is a writer and then Elise goes in and they get so inspired they make something for her and before she leaves they give it to her and HHHH ;;w;;))
{ I will try my very best!! I apologize in advance for getting any of the characters wrong!! }
The little silver bell over the shopâs door chimed as a rather young looking girl walked through the door frame. Only, she didnât seem as young as she looked. There was an air of poise and even elegance that wafted around her as she stepped through, giving a small nod to the rather tall man that stood behind the counter.Â
The bell alone was musing to Ivanâs ears since it meant that he actually had a customer, but what he didnât expect to see was a flower walking through his shop. She looked so beautiful, like a porcelain doll, but strong like a marble statue. Who ever she was, she had managed to keep his eyes on hers.
Smiling, Elise spoke up. âExcuse me? May I have a vanilla latte? If itâs not too much troubleâ she added. But looking around the rather old coffee shop, it didnât seem as if there was anyone else there beyond them and a couple who sat at a table nearest the door.
Ivan, finally regaining his voice, gave her a smile and a nod  before quickly turning around and fixing up a cup of coffee. As he worked, he wondered what on earth had kept his eyes on her. She must not have been a day over 20, but there was something about her. Something that he did not see in other people. Turning back around, he created a small picture of a lily out of the cream for the latte and handed it to the girl with a small smile.Â
Fishing for her wallet, she had spoken up. âThis is a lovely shop you have. I didnât think that I would be able to find a nice place to read all the way out here.â
Ivan nodded his head, handing her the change she needed. âItâs better this way. Out of the city means an easier place to relax.â He seemed to be a man of few words, but the small smile on his face seemed friendly and warm, especially on a winter day like this.
With a small âthank youâ from Elise, she turned and found a small table by the window and sat down, watching the scenery outside. Ivan, well knowing that there would not be a new customer for at least a few hours, sat on a stool behind the counter and pulled out his sketch pad he kept on one of the shelves. In an instant, his hand began to move gracefully against the paper, the charcoal acting like an extension of his arm rather than simply a took. Every so often, he would glance up and continue to sketch, glancing the strange flower that seemed bloomed in the winter.Â
By the time Elise was done with her drink, she got up from her seat and called out, âThank you again for the coffee.â
"WaitâMiss!" Ivan called out, not realizing just how much time had passed. He quickly tore out the picture and calmly waled towards her, lowing his head some out of a sudden wave of embarrassment. "This is for you," he said, handing her the paper.
Eliseâs eyes widened at the picture ofâ Her. Well, at least it looked like her, but it seemed that the girl in the picture was too beautiful to be her. She sat by a window and seemed to be blowing steam off of a cup of coffee, eyes shut and mouth curved into a smile of ease. âI donât know what toââ she started, but quickly cut off at seeing the ribbon in her hair, identical to the girl in the portrait. Carefully, she brought her hand up to touch the ribbon, staring at the girl as if she would do the same, and let out a sigh, smiling up at him.
"Oh, goodness. Thank you. I didnât even catch your name."Â
"Itâs Ivan," he said.
Elise smiled. âIâm Elise, and thank you for the coffee. And this,â she breathed out, stilled struck by the detail of the portrait.
"No, thank you," he said, giving her a kind smile. "For warming my cold winter."

"Elise," she repeated slowly, a small smile forming on her lips when Elise made no intention of running away or harming her. She didn't expect her to do that... But it was always best to stay on your toes. Or fins. Whatever.
She shook her head, gently pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "No, I'm from over there." She pointed, with her webbed hands, outwards to the sea. "It's a nice place, although they do expect me to be married off. It's... Not in my favour to be married to the other Prince. So I may have run off." Like she does almost every day.
Elise smiled and sat down in the shallow water, to hell with her dress, she had plenty more in her home. " Married off? " She laughed a bit and smiled wider. " I didn't know even merpeople did that too." The water brushing pass her. " That means you royalty right? Since you'll be married of to a prince." Their situations were so  similar yet different at the same time, it managed to caught her interest with one bite.

Elizabeth frowned before swimming a little closer to her, frowning as she waved her hand hesitantly.
"Hello," she said slowly, a frown on her face. She had never talked to humans before, especially not ones as pretty as the girl, so it made her only flustered and shaky.Â
Normally, Elizabeth never got like this. Why would she? She was strong, independent, and also sarcastic and bitchy, according to some of the mermen she had met before. Why was this human making her feel like this? Ah, it was probably that lust that she had heard from her father and how every mermaid or merman would feel this way at some point towards a human.
She tried to push the feeling back with a cough and forced a smile. âMy name is Elizabeth.â
She watched Elizabeth closely. Noticing the fins on the side of her head almost immediately. " Nice to meet you Elizabeth, I'm Elise." She waved as well and smiled, waving at what she suspects is a mermaid was quite hard since she had to hold her skirt with only one hand and whatever they made the dress with was beyond her, all she knows is it was heavy and itchy. " You're not from around here, are you , Elizabeth?" She asked, trying not to frighten her even if she was the one getting more and more nervous.Â
