I love to think about that necromancer being h*rny
Here's the thing about Emmrich leading up to the romance: He's fiercely kind not just to Rook but to everyone else. He's gentle and unassuming, even in the face of Rook's being a goblin occasional teasing. It's clear he likes Rook, and it's clear how fondness turns quickly into *adoration*.
It's also a known fact that the man has weapons grade rizz. He has game like nothing you've ever seen before. He is comfortable with his sexuality and confident in his flirting abilities (as he should be, because wow).
But I do love the idea that when Rook first "accuses" him of trying to impress them, he protests specifically because he feels called out. Not just that: Rook's comment is exactly what wakes him up to his own crush. Because despite his usual confidence, he's been kind of in denial - even while setting up tea time for two in the Memorial Gardens.
And here's the delicious bit: I think he would come to terms with his romantic feelings for Rook relatively quickly after that. But his *desire*? No. There's the age difference, there's their overall situation, and then there's Rook, who is constantly overwhelmed and being thrown tasks from all sides. Emmrich's own wants are the very last thing he considers whenever he does get a moment with Rook. He's so focussed on showing them kindness, on making sure they are comfortable, that the first time he helps them to their feet after a fight and gets caught in the way they look up at him, all flushed cheeks and parted lips, their hand lingering in his, he has to excuse himself to stare at a wall.
Because sure, he has a soft spot for Rook. He's well aware of the warmth that spreads through his chest when they smile at him. But now his skin on fire and that *look* in Rook's eyes is burned into the back of his eyelids and it takes five minutes of breathing exercises (And then two more minutes of something he is too ashamed to ever think about again) before he can rejoin the group.
The scene in his library with the skull happens that same evening, after a minor existential crisis some serious deliberation. Because this is not Emmrich's first time *wanting* someone. But it's the first time he's been so repressed about it.
Don't get me wrong: I like this framing of Emmrich as confident and in control as much as the next guy. I just love to think that during that scene in the library, he accidentally turns himself on far more than even Rook. Emmrich says "close your eyes" and then Rook DOES IT and Emmrich internally is like "oh no oh god what have I done". He rests his hand on theirs and speaks in that low, seductive voice and Rook is like "damn this guy has some moves!" while Emmrich is just glad he's still producing words at all (Lucky for him, a constant flow of sweet-talk is what his brain defaults to when he is criminally horny).
infinitely funny that solas is this powerful god that was worshipped for centuries albeit against his will and commanded spirits and legions of ancient elves in a rebellion
is the same solas who allowed himself to be bullied non stop by inquisition companions who had no idea what he was. imagine being revered for millennia and then suddenly sera is blowing raspberries anytime he speaks, varric’s calling him “chuckles” after his feared mantle of the dread wolf, being subjected to inappropriate spirit sex questions and the skyhold joke that he doesnt like tea, which he deliberately plays into purely for the sake of everyone’s amusement. he was completely content to be the butt of the joke.
the relief from being seen as a god-general of rebellion and lies to an unwashed apostate hobo ... being in the inquisition truly must’ve been the best year of his life

“15 Men React To The Idea Of Taking Their Wife’s Last Name After Marriage”
Men believe the family is their domain but when it comes to watching the children or doing chores suddenly it’s not their responsibility
Men believe the family is their property.
Male lineage is a scam
I clicked on the link because I expected the other answers to be less bad but they aren’t 🙄
Asdfgdgjfflhkjl if we were to look at this ‘biologically’, men would be the ones taking the women’s surname hands down. See, children get all of there mtDNA (mitochondrial dna) from their mother and none from their father - where as their normal DNA is a 50:50 mix of both their mother’s and father’s. This means that mtDNA remains unchanged as its passed down from mum to daughter. This goes on for generations, in fact, geneologists can trace back lineages for millions of years using mtDNA.
However, the father’s dna is diluted with every generation, and soon becomes unrecognizable. The mother’s biologically legacy lasts the longest and that’s the tea
Reblogging for the last comment. My sister works in genealogy, identifying any female living relatives of missing soldiers. The men dont matter. Why? Because the female family member’s DNA can be traced back GENERATIONS with no decay. When bodies (generally from vietnam or Korean wars) are recovered, they then can finding living female biological relatives, no matter how distantly related, to positively identify the remains.
This kinda reminds me of a case I read about a few years ago where the guy (I think in California) wanted to change his last name to his wife’s and not only was it very difficult to do legally (at least at the time he was trying to do it) but he got a lot of blow back for it.
-When I told the army doctor that sometimes my period pains make me unable to function for days, he didn’t even write that down. -When I told my dad “don’t touch me, I’m in pain” he backed down for a moment until my mom told him “she’s on her period”. Then he just laughed. -When I told my teacher before a big test that I was unable to do it because I was in extreme pain and could barely move at all, she said I was making up excuses and that it wasn’t a real reason not to do the test. -Wenever I tell someone about how different I feel during my period emotionally they say I’m just “making up drama”. We need to start treating people on their periods like actual human beings in pain.
-The fact that it occurs monthly doesn’t make the pain less real. It should be treated seriously and with respect. -The fact that the hormones effect the emotions doesn’t make your sadness less painful or the anger less valid or that terrible feeling of being lost less terrifying. Guess what? Hormones affect everyone. Feelings aren’t always rational. It should be also treated seriously and with respect.
Please stop mocking people with periods. Please stop dismissing us. Please stop violating our boundries. Please respect people with periods.
For real though, 24 hours or so before my period starts I’ll have to go to bed with a migraine, I’ll have to lie in a dark room and try not to throw up as my hormones make my body fight itself. If I was able to drive (which I can’t) I wouldn’t be ablee to the day beefore my period.

Ben Daniels Being Funny // Fanny and Elvis (1999).
I keep hearing the term "biorobot" in regards to Chernobyl, I tried looking up the term before but I didn't find an explanation, what are biorobots?
The bravest me the world has ever known: Liquidators sent to the rooftop of the destroyer Reactor 4, to replace German-made robots that broke down due to the heavy exposure to radiation, as that place needed to be cleaned up from all the radioactive debris expelled from the explosion of the reactor in order to allow construction crews to finish the Sarcophagus, the structure designed to contain the building and stop the spread of radiation to the atmosphere.
Here you can see them alongside one of the broken robots, and hence their name, Biorobots, since they had been sent to a place deemed only suitable for robots, not humans nor any other living being.
The completion of the Sarcophagus was for them what flying the Soviet flag over the Reichstag meant to the Red Army: Total victory over a ruthless, savage enemy.
And they actually raised their own flag once it was completed, a symbol of their battle over the atom.
Never forget their sacrifices.
Yo, pansexuals and pan romantics, you are all amazing and you're loved. You're valid, real and you deserve only good things. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
yeah!!
“They’re such extraordinary people,” says Daniels, “Completely addicted to each other. Even right up until the minute they were getting divorced, they still had a really strong physical relationship. People often said that it was like foreplay for them, having a big row. They would have these huge rows and then amazing sex.” Hearing this, Bonham Carter can’t resist encouraging EW readers to “try it at home!”
