it was a pretty day outside so you and rafe decided to go down to the golf course, you had always thought golf was boring but rafe really liked it so you thought “why not give it a try.”
rafe had kindly agreed to teach you how to play, he was now standing behind you, his hands resting on your hips to slightly guide your movements as you held the golf club.
“okay do i just swing now?” you asked, looking back at him. “yeah” he replied he was very gentle despite his usual short fuse, which you found was sweet… in an unusual way. he always had his ways of showing love, he was just very protective. “not too hard” he reminded you.
he didn’t care if you were good, or if you were horrible at golf. he still found it adorable seeing you trying to concentrate on the game, and he loved how cute you were when you got frustrated. he gently guided your arms some more, a small smile forming on his face.
you sighed, “what if i’m just not good at golf?” you were used to being a natural in basically… everything so the fact that you still hadn’t gotten the hang of it was kind of pissing you off.
rafe let out a laugh “nah baby don’t give up that easy, i was worse when i first started, just need practice” he said, his hands still resting on your hips, rubbing circles on the material of your skirt.
as the afternoon progressed, you were actually getting a hang of the game. you were still bad, but not as bad as before. He stood back, grinning at you as he watched you struggle. he was impressed with your attempts to do well, he knew you hated the golf, but you were willing to try for him, which he found cute.
eventually you got bored, because golf can only be entertaining for so long. “i’m gonna go get a drink, you want anything?” i asked watching him swing another round
he shook his head, “nah I’m okay, thanks.”
rafe leaned against the golf cart, waiting for you to walk back out with whatever drink you were gonna get. he pulled his phone out of his pocket and scrolled through social media, his eyes flickering up from the phone, to the entrance of the country club every so often.
you got yourself a sparkling water, then walked back to where he was standing, you couldn’t help but admire how he looked, he was wearing a blue polo shirt, which you had picked out of course. and a pair of beige shorts, “fuck he looks so good” you thought to yourself.
he put his phone away, putting it in his pocket as he saw you return with your drink. he smiled, standing up from the golf cart and walking over to you. you reached up to him, pulling him in for a quick kiss, “this was actually really fun.” you said.
he smiled, putting an arm around you as you kissed him. he was genuinely enjoying himself today, he rarely let himself have fun, as ward would always scold him about taking over cameron development in the future and “needing to be prepared”
“yeah?” he chuckled, he was glad you were enjoying the day so far as well, he wanted you to feel good in his presence. you nodded and smiled, wrapping an arm around his. he genuinely looked happy and that made you happy too. “yeah, think i’m starting to like golf.”
“really?” he questioned, he didn’t expect you to actually grow an interest for it. he was glad it was growing on you though, he appreciated you putting in the effort to be a part of his life.
you nodded. “it’s not as bad as i thought it would be.”
“glad you’ve finally found some enjoyment in it.” he said, grabbing your hand, holding in loosely in his. he was really sweet, but he didn’t let many see that side of him. he was sweet around you though, very soft and caring. he brought your hand to his lips, softly brushing his lips against your knuckles. he was so in love with you, something so rare to see. you were his girl, his baby, his everything. “i love you rafey” you said, planting a soft kiss on his cheek. “I love you too.” he replied, resting his hand on your waist.
“you wanna go home?” he asked, his lips brushing against your hair. “mhm” you mumbled, tired from being in the sun all day. “gonna take care of you when we get home kay?” he said, putting the golf clubs back in the cart. you smiled, you knew what that meant, you were getting fucked.
