So, I guess technically my OC species arenât âShadow Poniesâ anymore since none of them are really equine shaped apart from NightTerror. Still havenât really thought of a new name that sounds any good. Iâll just call them demons for now until I throw something together with a word translator at some point.
Also, I guess I havenât said it in a post yet but theyâre emotion eaters, like changelings, only they can feed on a much wider range of emotions. (What do you call that anyway? An emotionvore?) Though that doesnât stop them from eating actual food by any means since their bodies are so adaptive. They are also completely immune to all forms of magic, though they are vulnerable to fire, magical fire still has no effect on them unless the magic itself ignites natural fire.
Also, Iâve made âfactionsâ for them.
Those in the Terror Faction follow Glam, the first born of their species. They primarily feed on fear and pain. They are generally cruel and manipulative.
Their current members are-
Glam - The oldest of his kind, though only by a few hours, if that matters. Of the three demons made from either organic matter or energy taken from the Goddess Kwekwaxawe, or âThe Ravenâ (Silent Hill fans should know who this is), Glam was the only one to actually have any abilities related to the Otherworld, and a burning hatred for his own existence. Glam is cruel, malicious, and has a long history of infanticide. He also enjoys the pained and fearful screams of children which earned him the titles of Child Snatcher and Bogeyman.
Seduction - She greatly enjoys enticing and devouring men. She uses her powerful pheromones and low level psychic abilities to alter her appearance to resemble her victimâs âidealâ woman. She draws them close, then at the last moment, she reveals her true nature, then promptly devours them.
Bloodfest - The only demon apart from NightTerror and Nightshade that Glam knows for certain is his direct offspring, since she resembles him so closely physically, apart from the wispy tendrils that resemble hair. Sheâs also batshit crazy, cruel, and enjoys taking her victims apart piece by piece while they are still alive.
Genocide - The tank of the family. One of the largest of their species and among the strongest physically. He doesnât care about âfeedingâ all that much and prefers to kill simply for the sake of killing. He is difficult to harm, though despite his resilient hide, his healing factor is quite low compared to his fellow demons.
Feral - Not really a member by choice since he lacks the mental capacity to make such a choice since he functions on an instinctive level only, like an animal, hence the name
Those in the Void Faction have no official leader, though Grenth, the second born of their species, is the strongest of this particular grouping. They lack the cruel nature of their kin in the Terror Faction, but they are by no means âGoodâ. They still hunt and feed when needed, but rarely make their prey linger.
Their current members are-
Grenth-Â Logical, calculating, and powerful. Grenth was also unintentionally altered by a necromancy spell gone awry. He is the only demon among the Terror and Void Factions that has allied himself with a non-demon, the individual in question being a Lich named Vampeera. He is more interested in helping her build her undead army than hunting, which is just as well, since he doesnât really require nourishment anymore, not that his kind can die of starvation.
Snair-Â His name says it all. He lies in wait, then pounces. His prey is usually dead before they know whatâs happening. He, like a small number of others of their kind, prefers to feed on flesh rather than emotions.
Corrosion -Â Excretes powerful acids from his body and can spray it long distances with accuracy. He doesnât really have a real sense of urgency when hunting since his victims tend to die within seconds of being hit by his acid
Shadow Step- Hides in the shadows of his prey and simply feeds on their negative emotions. He is very picky when selecting prey, often choosing the downtrodden and oppressed as his âhostsâ.
No leader. No agenda. And hardly ever interact with their own kind. They simply wish to be left to their own devices, either in solitude, or beyond the reach of demon and mortal alike. Or, simply donât know any other way of living.
Their current members are-
Nightshade- Small, adorable, and loves everyone he meets. While not born this way, whatever happened during his infancy made him as innocent and loving as any normal child, maybe more so. He also loves sweets, but does feed on emotions without even realising it, the only difference is Nightshadeâs emotion eating is unique to his kind in that he can feed on joy, happiness, love, and excitement.
Scalpel- Scalpel is not what you would call âEvilâ, though heâs not quite âGoodâ either, though not by any fault of his own. He enjoys taking apart organic beings and putting them back together, learning how they work and how to âfixâ them. He is on good terms with Nightshade, who has helped him learn to only dissect beings that are already dead, though he does still âfixâ living beings. Scalpel also has the sharpest eyesight of his kind, able to see right down to the cellular level if needed in order to do his work. His arms can also separate into smaller and smaller arms, most ending in either âscalpelâ like blades, or pincers for gripping. He is able to manipulate these arms with incredible precision, able to outdo even the most skilled surgeons and most advanced machines. He is also the one responsible for putting Alessa âback togetherâ when Glam found her in the Otherworld, and effectively made her âaliveâ. Though in his words, he made her âwholeâ. On a side note, Nightshade refers to Scalpel as âOni-chanâ, since Nightshade finds it fun to say.
Marionette- Perhaps one of the physically weakest of their kind. Marionetteâs body is always âcrackedâ in one place or another, the slightest touch able to damage her frail body. However, she is still dangerous, and can shape âpuppetsâ from the shadows and use them to attack. She generally keeps to herself, preferring isolation.
NightTerror- It serves no one. It is loyal to no one. It cares only to feed. It is the only one of its kind that can freely enter the dream realm, an ability that it jealousy keeps to itself. There, its abilities are amplified to God like levels, NightTerror already immensely powerful in the waking world. NightTerror is a powerful Telepath, and can influence, hurt, and even kill with its mind even when in the waking world. When in the Dream Realm, it can shape the realm to its will, often shifting the dreams of others into horrifying nightmares and feeding on the emotions that result from them. NightTerror also possesses a powerful healing factor, all physical injuries healing in seconds, if that. It also despises the Moon Princess, since she makes constant attempts to remove it from the Dream Realm for obvious reasons.
