Ochre Lordgrub, for The Endless Dungeon.
When Yellow Grubs are nurtured for long enough, they will begin to show signs of maturity—signaling their readiness to take leave of the Cult’s nurseries. Grubs are harvested & spread across Cult territory so that they may burrow & seek the roots of a fabled flower which protected a long-dead kingdom. And, if the rites are performed correctly, a beast of immense proportion may return to its birthplace someday.
An Ochre Lordgrub may be formed by growing enormously fat off of the Cult’s enemies, or perhaps by finding the fabled roots spoken of in legend. Cult of the Grub Devotees, Acolytes and Grub-Callers perform long rituals to Grandfather Gnaw that combine the spilling of blood and the imitation of thousands of marching footsteps—believed to summon the great beasts for communion.
