Recent Acquisition - Photograph Collection

The Egyptian Building, Richmond, Va., photograph undated (ca. 1950 ?) Completed in 1845, the Egyptian Building was the first permanent home of the Medical Department of Hampden-Sydney College (later renamed the Medical College of Virginia), and now part of Virginia Commonwealth University.  It is considered by many architectural historians to be one of the finest surviving Egyptian Revival buildings in the country.
