For years, travelers seeking serenity and spiritual renewal have made their way to India's ashrams and retreat centers to learn the wisdom of ancient practices like yoga, meditation and Ayurveda healing. Whether you're looking for a disciplined daily...
You have to be burning with ‘an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right.’ If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.

Forgive yourself for not being the richest, the thinnest, the tallest, the one with the best hair. Forgive yourself for not being the most successful, the cutest or the one with the fastest time. Forgive yourself for not winning every round. Forgive yourself for being afraid. But don’t let yourself off the hook, never forgive yourself, for not caring or not trying.
Seth Godin, with his signature pithy wisdom, captures the crucial difference between not succumbing to the tyranny of perfectionism and not showing up – a difference perhaps best articulated by the Chinese concept of wu-wei.

crunchy vegetable cutlets
this is all i had at home today along with some oats.
ingredients:
1 onion
1 capsicum
a chunk of cabbage
1 boiled potato
2 and a half cup oats
cheese( optional)
1 tbsp everest kitchen king masala (http://www.everestspices.com/masalas/kitchen-king)
salt and chilli powder or flakes
preparation:
start by grinding the oats so that they look something like this.
chop up the capsicum, cabbage and onion. mash the potatoes.
mix all the vegetables with the oats, chilli powder, kitchen king masala and cheese if you are using it. add a little water just enough to make the mixture moist enough so that it will hold.
finally just grease the pan and line up the cutlets on it till they turn to an edible shade of brown.
the cutlets will be ready in about 10 to 15 minutes. be sure to flip the cutlets onto the other side after a while.
these should go well with a minty sauce. but it tastes good anyways! :)
today i let go of one of my biggest fears. the handstand or adho mukha vrkshasan in yoga. i must say that for me half the difficulty level of this pose lied in the fear of letting my feet off the ground. i didn't believe i could do it, didn't trust myself and was afraid of falling! yes, you do need upper body strength and a strong core but you also need to trust yourself! trust that it's YOUR body and YOU can handle it! :)
Autostraddle tells it like it is. I guess that’s exactly what Alan Watts meant in 1951 when he admonished against the "orgasm without release" of media overload.
Lest we forget, the psychology of fruitful writing does require a dedicated environment free of distraction.
Freedom from distraction! It's the need of the hour! Especially from social networks. Work is work and it shouldn't be diluted by petty notifications. The social networks are definitely a boon if we could all exercise control over its usage and not let it hamper the more important things in our lives.
You’ll make mistakes, but as long as what you’re focused on is what you’re passionate about, all the other things will fall into place. If there’s anything you’re going to give less priority to, it shouldn’t be your passion. You can never go wrong with that.

oatmeal pancakes with roasted veggies
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 cup oats
chopped vegetables of choice, i have used baby corn, capsicum, tomato and onion
coriander for garnishing
cheese (optional)
baking powder
chilli powder, salt and pepper
Preparation:
mix the egg, oatmeal, salt and baking powder. if the mixture is too thick add 1 or 2 tsp of water.
on a greased pan, arrange this mixture as shown below and allow to cook till light brown.
roast the choice of vegetables and add salt, pepper and chilli powder according to your tastes.
once the vegetables are well roasted just put them on the pancakes, add cheese if you want and the dish is ready!
this recipe is so simple and preparation takes less than 15 minutes. it doesn't require many ingredients and most of the vegetables would go well with the pancakes. plus it tastes great and is healthy too! :)
