an equivalent for general fanworks i guess it's like, if you don't respect me at very hastily written wish fulfillment fic written by a 13 year old then you don't deserve me at my Genuinely Good Series Revival made by fans who've been writing fanfics since they were kids. for comics i suppose it'd be if you don't respect me at my r/comics haha funny horny sex joke daily webcomic then you don't deserve me at my Maus by Art Spiegelman, or my Corto Maltese by Hugo Pratt.

but once again just an application of the principle of "if you don't deserve me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best". if you don't think Sonic 06 or FIFA or COD is worthy of some kind of respect then you don't believe Disco Elysium is worthy of respect either. videogames aren't "pick and choose", they're still united under the general principles and guidelines that tie all of them together. videogames all share a language, with every genre being merely a dialect. if you don't respect every dialect in some way, or see worth in all of them you don't respect the language itself.

this isn't me saying COD or FIFA is worth respecting as much as Disco Elysium in terms of like, writing or whatever, but simply on the base principle that they're all videogames nonetheless. if you only consider that some games are pieces of art but others aren't your points for the former are moot because they're still videogames, who in essence are all pixels on a screen working with code. they're all the same, in essence. if you respect painting as an art form you'll respect the Pollocks and the Rothkos as much as the Bouguereaus and the Caillebottes. if you respect videogames as an art form you'll respect both the CODS and FIFAS and Sonic 06's and Bubsy 3Ds and the Disco Elysiums and deltarunes and original Silent Hill 2's.

Sergeant Thomas Kitching, who served with the 12th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, had his left leg shattered when wounded on the Somme on the 7th of July 1916. The brooch, together with a portrait of Sgt Kitching and postcards were sent to his sweetheart Lizzie Hunter, at her Birtley, County Durham address. being able to hear someone criticizing your behaviour or something you like whether it's music or tv shows or a restaurant you like or clothes or whatever and not immediately collapsing emotionally or responding as though you're being physically attacked is one of the most important skills to develop and a sign of maturity and resilience. if you react like you're a caged animal every time you encounter someone who doesn't like something you do or dislikes something you like or just straight up doesn't like you that needs to be addressed if you want to grow as a person and not live in a constant state of insecurity. if you assume that someone disagreeing with you or disliking something you like, especially if it's an opinion on art and media, automatically impacts your worth as an individual or makes you react the same way you did when you were 5 and another kid didn't want to play with you that needs to be addressed idk what to say it's time to develop some resilience
