can a good thing be called Hogwarts nowdays?
I'm not a fan of Rowling and I'm kind of tired of HP merchandise, which is everywhere.
So, when I saw an ad for a new movie series titled "I didn’t get to Hogwarts» I thought "No, not again, read another book".
But things got MUCH worse. Because it's an expensive movie about real people with autism. The premise of the movie is that there is a great method that helps non-verbal people talk and share their wisdom (all participant tell something wise, heartfelt) - so called facilitated communication. People talk through facilitators.
I googled and immediately found out that it's a highly controversial method. No blame for the people with autism they used for that, but ton of questions to the rest of the team.
But things got even worse from here. The movie is basically an ad for a NEW center for people with autism, based completely on FC method.
And the center is named Hogwarts.
I remember from my days in parents’ communities that parents are drowning in all type of quake medicine and weird technics, usually both harming and expensive. ABA method became a kind of MLM in Russia, but there are worse and worse things - from taking you kid to a crazy Orthodox elder for a prayer/exorcism to going to Crimea to make your child swim with dolphins. And parents are ready to pay any money.
Now this.
