End the Water Crisis
Almost 5 million people in the Philippines depend on hazardous and unsustainable water resources and 9 million need access to improve sanitation. In spite of its growing economy, the Philippines faces serious challenges in terms of water and sanitation access. The country is rapidly urbanizing, and its growing cities struggle to produce new residents with adequate water and sanitation services.
In CNN Philippines, October 2019 - Residents within the countless areas in Cebu province are stricken by a “water crisis" as Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) didn't meet the demand of consumers. As what MCWD said that the daily water demand in Metro Cebu is at the most 238,000 metric capacity unit per day, leading to most of its area struggling without water.
Mayor Junard Ahong Chan: Water supply problem is not only in Lapu-Lapu City but all over Metro Cebu.
The Lapu-Lapu City government has initiated water projects for its residents and businesses because the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) is already “hands up” in fulfilling its mandate.
“Hopefully, by February 14 of next year (2021), desalination projects will start especially clean water from Hilutungan channel,” City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said in an interview with Daily Tribune.
The situation could worsen as the country is beset by the El Niño phenomenon and climate change that contribute to increase in temperature, drying up our water sources.
It does not end there apart from having lack of water sources, starvation is one of the most affected in water shortage. Water shortages directly supply to the lower crop yields and the death of livestock, which can be the cause of food shortages. A lack of water takes a massive fee on global energy harvest.
And as of this days, Mayor Junard Ahong Chan planned to build a "Desalination Plant" which he explained that will process sea water and convert it into drinkable and sustainable water. As Metropolitan Cebu Water District or (MCWD) were assigned to store the processed water and to distribute in house consumers and establishments.

which expectedly many costumers are affected, But immediately restored the Low Pressure problem. But another incident happened just yesterday due to Main line leak repair that also resulted to low pressure distribution, yet restored over 5 hours.
