Friday from Empire of Corpses
Sketch took maybe an hour or less. Our boy looks pretty cute tbh
hxlisticdoctor
â I donât recall Friday being a part of the conversation.â Before he realized, his tongue daggered back with a defensiveness that only showed his sensitivity to the subject. When it dawned upon his mistake, those same lips pursed with a soft, huff-like breath, trying to disregard the tone he had previously gave. YesâŚhe remembered this man was a glib one. It was bittersweet to have someone that had bite to their words when it brought remembrance of his friend, but Watson did not mesh the personalities. They were different. Much different.Â
Thankfully, the moment passed with the acceptance to his previous conversation-starter. Adjusting his tie, he listened fondly. Evolution. He had indeed read theories on the matter and personally found a fondness in the bold statements offered despite religion pressing to pronounce it as sacrilegious. A raised brow was conjured.Â
âDoes the philosophy not suit your taste? Surely not all of them can be dreadful, unless the writer is flawed.â Another glance was given to Friday as the boat rocked, but his eyes were content with giving his full attention back to the other after. âI find myself more indulgent to philosophies and science more than novels these days. I have not touched a sincere novel in a year, at least.âÂ
âYou musnât worry. I doubt he will take offense.â And he was at it again. Nikolai supposed there was no use trying to hold his tongue when his purpose in this whole ordeal was to challenge the manâs views, after all âand he couldnât deny just how amusing it was when the fire was so easy to spark, judging by the doctorâs reaction.
Despite finding his ideas to be rather imprudent, that wasnât to say the agent didnât hold any respect for Watson. Nikolai had looked at the manâs academical records and papers himself as part of his prior research. A bright mind with pretty bold stances, he managed to wake the blondâs natural curiosity and hunger for debate.
Nikolai shook his head at Watsonâs assumption. âIt isnât a matter of distate. This book was left on my fatherâs bookcase. Interesting as it might be, Iâve gone over it enough times to find it stimulating. You may take it off my hands after our mission is complete.â In the end, he thought with some bitterness, there was no use in holding on to any of these items; his fatherâs dusty books nor the locket hanging from his neck. Though, he quickly erased any outer traces of his troubling thoughts with a lofty smile as he closed the volume.
âConsider giving it a try. Literature, such as history, is fairly accurate describing the foolishness of men. Though in todayâs world itâs hardly necessary to resort to fiction for that kind of show.â He shot a quick glance to Friday, just as the man had seconds before. âWouldnât you agree?â
a voice in my head told me that I was the type of kid thatâs meant to die young and I havenât been able to shake the feeling that itâs true
"I missed you, miss secret agent"
âIâm not a lady, you see. Though you might be in dire need of one, if you truly miss my company.â

@nikclai inquired
âI feel there is a need to break the ice between us.â If that frigidness had been a product of his first words of introduction, Watson would not say or admit to. But, the present silence on the boat was one that he was growing tired of. A small, watchful glance was offered to his dear friend Friday to ensure he had not wandered too far along the boat, before his gaze returned to the man before him; fingers splayed and greeting one another. âWhat is the book that you are reading? Common ground might be a nice play to start.âÂ
âPerhaps, since I suppose your friend isnât particularly talkative.â Soft-spoken words held a sharp edge as he quickly glanced at the wobbly corpse making its way through the wooden boards. It wasnât his intention to antagonize the man whose favor they ultimately would need to win right off the bat, but he just couldnât help himself âthat was a habit that even the patient mentoring of Alyosha couldnât have gotten rid of.
And so, as if to contrast the previous jab, the young man offered a thin smile as he closed his book to fully address Watson. âA compilation of essays on the theory of evolution. A doctor such as yourself would be interested. Though, frankly, Iâm beginning to think it wouldnât have been bad to indulge on a novel instead. This time.âÂ
Obscure Fandom Blog is alive! This is more than likely to turn into a multimuse blog later, but I am much too lazy to prepare that today
So please reblog/follow/like if you are interested in playing with an Independent John Watson from The Empire of Corpses. Character development and blog development still underway but I am excited to play so I wanted to get this post out there.Â
Thank you <3
//GUYS. I know Iâve been MIA for 500 years but would any of you be interested if I opened fic commissions?
You've been so quiet one would think you'd be dead. Oh wait..
âOh, if it isnât the flavorless scone. Iâve almost come to miss your tasteless humor.â

âMy name is Herondale,â the boy said cheerfully. "William Herondale, but everyone calls me Will.â
What a good boy.

I have a really vain sword and he never appreciates my gifts. He only sasses me, isn't that rude? How should I get him to appreciate me?
Ask my muse for advice on or off anon.
âA vain âswordâ? Is that some kind of foreign terminology? In any case, your âswordâ might feel as though your gifts are nothing more than a way to buy rather than win his favor. Or perhaps said gifts are only feeding his vanity, keeping him from acknowledging his benefactor?
Material goods can only go so far if respect is lacking. It is basic discipline, after all. Do you think a naughty child can be tamed with new toys? Make yourself needed first, then the moment you cease to provide either your mentorship or patronage, heâll reevaluate your worth, if any.â
Ask my muse for advice on or off anon.
this doesnât necessarily mean it will be good advice that you should follow, fyi.
