So like, is it just me or do you all also have an underappreciated mangaka, you love with all your heart. Anyways, please, if you can, donate to organizations working with indigenous people to save the Amazon rainforest like Survival International, Rainforest Foundation, Rainforest Concern (you can literally sponsor an acre of land!!), the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil, and the Coordinadora de la Organizaciones Indígenas de la Cuenca Amazónica.

I particularly encourage people to donate to the last two organizations since they were created by and for indigenous peoples of the Amazon.

Dear Dongpyo Haters

(Warning: Haters may get triggered)

First of all, anyone who dislikes Dongpyo either #1 doesn’t like cute guys full stop or #2 Can’t recognise talent or #3 Think he’s fake. Bish u fake. 

Okay…so…some people think he isn’t ‘manly’ enough…erm excuse you bitch but who said he had to become manly? Yes, some concepts like believer need a manly approach but honestly..he did amazing. So stfu ur opinion is now irrelevant. Also…i like how people complain/hate on ‘cute’ trainees when there’s no hate going to the ‘sexy’ or ‘manly’ trainees…erm what if i criticised them for not being ‘cute’ enough…Y’ALL WOULD THINK I WAS MAD LMAO. Get my point? And the trainers/knetz are waaay too harsh to him. Dongpyo is 16. Do you have ANY idea how insecure that could make him? And what that does to a child? Haters, grow the fuck up.

Secondly, people often think he’s fake. According to Dongpyo’s friend (just gossip going around) he is 100% true to himself in real life and on stage, and that he isn’t fake. Yes, the way he acts is A LOT like Daehwi, and Daehwi got tons of hate for the way he acted, his voice, etc..erm..don’t make assumptions. You don’t know him….if Dongpyo’s exaggering his cuteness…isn’t Hangyul playing on his ‘manliness?’ And Mingyu is faking his kindness/pureness? My point is, these are attributes you can’t just assume. Plus, it’s none of our buisiness. We’ll never know and if the viewers enjoy it, even if it’s fake…like…who cares. It’s getting them places.

Thirdly, people saying he’s like mnets fave…like so what i don’t see them complaining over other trainees who get a lot of attention (Yohan, Jungmo, etc)…and even if he is..WHO THE FUCK CARES HE DESERVES IT. I agree mnet can be biased and they need to fix that, but don’t hate the trainees themselves, they don’t decide screentime :)

The phrase ‘he doesn’t deserve the center position’ is over. PEOPLE VOTED HIM TO BE THE CENTER SKSKSKSKS how many fucking times?! I don’t even need to add any more on this!!

korean learning resources 🇰🇷

i know a lot of people are studying korean these days so here’s a quick list of resources that i find pretty useful for learning korean (๑･̑◡･̑๑)

— howtostudykorean :: my go-to korean learning site, each lesson is nicely explained with grammar rules and examples; each lesson also comes with a list of grammar to memorize. they provide another website to help you memorize vocabulary which brings me to...

— memrise :: this can also be downloaded as an app. they have a mnemonic for every vocabulary word that’s shown in case you have trouble solely remembering the word and definition. there’s separate courses on there as well for different levels of korean (or other languages!)

— talktomeinkorean :: i dont use this anymore but when i just started learning korean this was a big help. their lessons are in the forms of podcasts so you can multitask (but i mostly used the pdfs because i’m bad at focusing lol). the hosts are super knowledgeable since they’re native speakers and can give further insight into nuances found in korean.

— learnwitholiver :: this is similar to memrise, but this gives several example sentences for each word/phrase being learned. there’s also small minigames and other features to actively engage you in your studytime. there’s reading, writing, etc. activities all in one.

— domandhyo :: this is mostly just vocabulary words however if you’re more a visual learner you’ll definitely benefit from how the material is presented. their website provides colorful posters of vocabulary words by category/similarity. they even have some comic strips too!
