"I’m not sure I have many Jasmine like qualities though, i’m probably more like Meg if we’re going disney. Meg flies on Pegasus, it works." Sage laughed a bit before looking over at him again. She smiled as she noticed Nik just sort of looking at her, it was still peaceful and nice, not in a weird way at all so she wasn’t bothered. She was taken back again but his next words. Being asked for a kiss was also something very foreign to Sage, in past experiences it just kind of happened, Nik was pretty full of alcohol and he was still being polite. She noticed that his eyes were indeed locked on her lips as she nodded. "You can." She answered simply as she moved herself a bit closer to him. Sage didn’t want to kiss him just yet, she wanted to let him process that she had said yes and let him make the move. She bit down on her lip as she waited the brief moment and then released it when she saw him leaning in.
A slow breath escaped Nikolai’s lips over the way Sage responded to his rather forward question. The simple answer had his heart beginning to race—But he was quick to urge himself to simply relax. It was just a kiss. Just one kiss. A gentle smile lingered on his lips as his body leaned forward in very much the same way that Sage was. With the desire to steal a kiss too strong for Nikolai to even try to resist, the male tilted his head just slightly to the side as he slowly closed the gap between them. In a moment, his lips were pressed against Sage’s as his hand moved to cup her face in a very careful manner. He didn’t dare linger too long—He didn’t want to press his luck too much. He did, however, touch his nose against hers as his lips began to brush once more as his quiet words slipped out. “—As soft as I imagined,” He mumbled, his smile spreading a bit as his thumb brushed along the smoothness of her cheek.
Yep. What about you?
"Yeah--I went back home for a couple days. It was nice to see the family again."
"I’d imagine it would be almost as frustrating as using chop sticks."
"Those things are torture. I dunno how people can eat a whole meal with 'em."
I have, actually. It’s not for me. Have you tried just doing things with someone and not going on dates with them?
"Yeah, actually. And I'll admit it wasn't that bad--It's just nice to get to know someone a little more like--What's your hometown, Katherine? Favorite color? How old are you?"

Sage laughed a bit as she looked at him. “It’s fine, my hair will flow in the wind enough for the both of us.” She teased. Taking a deep breath, and tried to figure out exactly what was going on, she couldn’t put her finger on it but she knew that whatever it was wasn’t bad. Sage wasn’t used Nikolai kind of compliments, they were a foreign thing to her and she couldn’t help but do what she knew she push him away. She slowly looked up to meet his gaze as he started to speak again. A smile made its way back onto her face as he spoke. “Way to add pressure, now I have to maintain being on the top. I can only go down from there.” She bit down on her bottom lip slightly as he took her hand, the sweet gesture caused her to smile again, she wasn’t used to any of it, but it’s was Nik and he was being sweet like he always was. “We can both hope—” She replied softly as she looked into her eyes as they met hers again.
"Okay, Jasmine," Nikolai chuckled though he was actually quite hopeful that this magic carpet ride would, somehow, fall into place down the line. The tension seemed to break with Sage's little joke about only being able to move down the list but Nikolai was quick to shake his head. His lips parted--However, he shut himself up quickly when her next words were heard. There was a moment of subtle panic in him--A panic that had his heart beginning to race. Normally, the moment his heart picked up like that, he would begin to retreat and back out of whatever it was that was causing him to react in such a way. But this time, it was different. With the alcohol giving him a confidence that he normally didn't have in such a situation and his desire for companionship raging at an all time high, Nikolai didn't retreat. Instead, he kept his eyes locked on Sage's for a moment before he found himself instinctively glancing at her lips. The next few moments were a mix of parted lips and flickering eyes before the strongman finally spoke up once more. "--Can I kiss you, Sage?" His impulsive words left him in a breathy whisper and his eyes were once again locked on Sage's lighter ones.

"Hey I can’t lift a car — well it depends on what you count as lifting actually. I can’t lift it using my actual strength." Sage said trying to make light of that moment a bit. She just didn’t want him to think her power was better then his, Nik wasn’t the kind of person she’d want to do that to. "I promise I will, I’ll take you on a magic carpet ride." She teased him a bit before picking up her glass and drinking down whatever was left of it. As she set her cup down and looked back up at him she saw him relax a bit and smiled. The comfort was back and the weird was gone which is all she really wanted at that moment. She froze for a moment before slowly started to slide her hand away from his as he complimented her, no one had ever said something like that to her, she had trained herself to focus on the physical things and push emotions from her mind, this definitely wasn’t something she was expecting ever, even from him. "It’s nothing Nik, I’m sure there’s plenty of people who like to drink as much as I do and enjoy your company, no big deal." She told him softly before looking down at her lap.
A light laugh left his lips over Sage's attempt at lightening the mood. It worked. Nikolai wasn't normally one to feel bad about his own powers but as quickly as he had, Sage was making him feel better about it. "A magic carpet ride, huh? Are we Aladdin and Jasmine? I think I gotta grow my hair out to work that one right," He teased playfully as he watched her finish her drink. However, his smile faded slightly as her hand began to retreat and instead of forcing her to keep it there, he let it go reluctantly. For a moment, he feared he had ruined the night with his silly yet honest compliment. He studied her carefully, eyes locked on her face as she dipped her head to avoid his gaze. Either she didn't enjoy compliments or she truly didn't believe the words he said—His gut told him it was the latter. He was quiet for a moment, trying to piece together his next move before he reached out once more to very lightly take her hand. "Well none of them are here--So you're kinda at the top of the list," He reminded, giving her a warm smile before he leaned over slightly. With careful attention to his own strength, he lifted her hand to place a kiss to the top of it. His lips lingered longer than they should have, savoring the feeling of her skin against them as he closed his eyes. "I hope you stay there--" He murmured, cutting himself off as he finally let himself lower her hand and lift his eyes to her.

"Not quite." She responded softly. "I’m working on this object manipulation thing, which will allow me to unlock doors and things like that. Also this flight thing, apparently I can fly." Sage shrugged her shoulders a bit before laughing a bit. All of the abilities they told her that she’d eventually be able to do amazed her thus caused her to want to work harder so she could achieve them. "I wouldn’t trade it for any other one, I love it." She smiled at him for a moment before a brief smirk appeared on her face. "Right, we can go with that." She teased before taking another sip of her drink herself. She couldn’t deny the mutual attraction between the two of them, but the simple gesture of just holding his hand was nice. She smiled as he talked about how comfortable he was around her. "I don’t find it creepy at all actually." She responded softly before she rubbing the back of his hand with her thumb. Sage really didn’t mind just sitting there with him as he held her hand, it was different from what she’s gotten used to lately, but still it was effortless and peaceful.
To say he was impressed with the things Sage was working towards would have been an understatement. His brows were raised slightly as he gave a nod of his head, momentarily feeling a bit jealous of the others abilities. "--And all I can do is throw a car around," He mused playfully, giving his head a bit of a shake in the process. "When you learn how to fly, let me know. I'd rather go skydivin' with you over Luke any day." The recollection of the conversation he had with the idiot Luke days ago flashed into his mind though he was quick to shut it off. He didn't need that punk ruining his night--Not when he had alcohol and a cool girl to keep him busy. There was a subtle sigh of relief that left his lips when Sage revealed she wasn't weirded out by his little confession and the touch she gave to his hand caused his shoulders to relax and his face to heat up a little bit more. "--You're a good girl, Sage. Anybody ever tell you that?" He piped up, his thumb brushing over hers as he spoke. "I mean it. I don't think a lot of people would be willin' to sit here, drink, and listen to music they don't care for with me," He added quickly, forcing out a little laugh before quieting himself down as he finished off the glass of vodka, set it on the coffee table, and licked the remaining droplets of liquid off of his numbing lips.

"What can I say? I’m one of a kind." She responded softly as she smiled at him. Sage genuinely enjoyed Nik’s company and figured that she should at least be nice enough to let him know that. "You could, but I wouldn’t train constantly, everyone needs a break from all of that." She nodded before setting her glass down and using that hand to run it through her hair. "Right, training…” She started to say but laughed a little as the words came out of her mouth. “Sure I’ve been training, but I’d say it’s a pretty normal amount, I’m trying to get this new thing down.” She explained before shrugging her shoulders. In reality most of her time had been spend with friends or some kind of company to keep herself occupied. She smiled as she looked down at their hands to see that it looked like Nik wasn’t letting go any time soon, it made her feel nice that she was able to comfort him. Sage laughed a bit more as she looked at him. Using her free hand she gestured up before moving her finger in a circle motion causing his ceiling fan to spin around mimicking her motions. “Nope, it’s just telekinetic Sage, if you’re feeling any kind of lust it’s strictly you..” She squeezed his hand a bit before picking her drink up with the other so she could take another sip from it.
A brow was immediately quirked when Sage let on that she had been working on something new. He was always intrigued by others and their training habits. His own sessions in the training room with his mentor were getting a little stale. One could only throw cars around for so long before it began to get boring. "Oh yeah? Are you ready to show it off yet?" He questioned curiously as he kept his eyes locked on her. However, his dark eyes shifted up to the ceiling the moment she pointed and he couldn't help but to smile at the way she made the fan move. "That's such a cool power--Hey. Who said I was feelin' any lust? Maybe I just like holdin' your hand?" He suggested, though he was quick to down another portion of his vodka the moment he trailed off. He had never denied being attracted to Sage—She was absolutely stunning. Once again, his eyes drifted over to Sage, studying her face briefly before he looked at their joined hands. "—It's nice to touch you. I've missed bein' comfortable enough to touch someone." Whether it was him opening up a little more to her because of the alcohol he was beginning to feel or the sheer desire to be close to someone again that had him talking, he wasn't sure. Nor did he really care when it came down to it. "--That's not creepy, is it?" He questioned gently, not wanting to come off as some loser who wanted to sit there holding her hand for however long he could.

"I’m glad you agree." Sage responded with a smile. She always seemed to deal better with things when she pushed them out of her mind and didn’t let them effect her especially when dealing with rumors, her knowing the truth was good enough for her. "I like the way you think." She said with a bit of a laugh while bringing her drink back up to her lips. She took a bigger sip of her drink as she watched him walk over and turn the stereo on for them. "Keeping yourself distracted always seems to work, you’ve got to be so busy that your mind can’t waste a second to dwell on it." Sage told him softly as she looked back at him and nodded. "Right, they’ll be plenty more or even some girls, you’ll make it through this Nik." She reached out and placed her hand over his in attempt to make him feel a little bit better. "We don’t have to discuss it anymore though if you don’t want to, sometimes talking helps, but alcohol and discussing other things always seems to, it’s completely your choice."
"You're one of the few," Nik replied quietly to her comment about the way he thought. Most people were either turned off by his excessive glass half full type of attitude or just thought him to be a dumb kid who was wrapped up in being a hero. "Stayin' busy around here shouldn't be too hard. I mean, we're trainin' to be superheroes, right? I should just train day and night," He started, though the touch to his hand had him quieting down. Dark eyes drifted to view the touch and after reminding himself that he was calm and collected, he turned his hand underneath hers to let his fingers curl up lightly against her hand. "Yeah--Maybe we should talk about something else," He sighed. His thoughts were still on Sebastian, even after Sage brought up that there were plenty other fish in the sea. Fish that wouldn't swim away. "--What's been keepin' you busy around here? Have you been trainin' a lot?" He questioned as he moved to sit back down beside her, not daring to let go of her hand. Perhaps it was strange to be so needy for that simple touch but after going so long without it and then having the one person who he was comfortable touching leave? He just needed the simple gesture more than anyone could realize. "You haven't switched powers with Logan again, have you?" He mused, sipping at his drink once more to let the burn hit the back of his throat.
We’re already going without parachutes, Nik. It’s a trust fall exercise. You trust me to catch you before you go splat! A—- A couple— No. No we are not. He’s not my… boyfriend, Nik, shut the fuck up. Fine. I’m joking about the murder stuff. The Tin Man? Really? I’m obviously the Wizard of Oz himself, if anything. And you are Dorothy… aw. I’m not going to stop talking, Nik, I know you love the sound of my voice. Fine, so be it— at least I’m not a naive fucking idiot, right?
"What kinda person would agree to that? Even I know better--Did I hit a spot? D'ya not like me callin' him your boyfriend? Do you have feelings for him, Luke? --I'm not Dorothy. I'm the--I dunno what I am. But I'm not Dorothy, alright? Whoa--There's no need for name callin'. I'm not a naive idiot..."
This isn’t an invasion of ‘personal space’, Nik, stop being so dramatic. Your bum is not fine. Just because Seb left, doesn’t mean that you’re not going to use it anymore. We need to get it back in shape before the new year starts and a whole batch of hot, new superheros arrive.
"--Are you sayin' my bum doesn't look nice now? Way to kill a guy's mood even more. I swear, if ya hit me one more time we're gonna have a throw down--With pillows."
It’s pretty great, if you see the right parts of it. Some are a lot worse than others. — Rocks would work.
"I guess that's kinda how every city is, too. Great parts, scary parts, mediocre parts. I'm not much of a city guy myself but the Big Apple is on my bucket list. Bad parts and all. Right--Rocks it is then. Look at our improvising skills."
I mean, in a matter of speaking. But it doesn’t look like it would be too difficult to be doing better than you.
"Nah, probably not. But I'll get over it. I haven't seen ya around for a bit--Did you go see family for the holidays?"
I could always give you a boost in your mood, but that’s not quite the same as drinking and ice cream, you know? We can watch dumb movies too. Or funny movies. Or any kind of movie, really.
"I'd hate to abuse your powers like that anyway. We'll see what ice cream, alcohol, and a solid dumb funny movie does for my mood and if that all fails, then I might ask for a boost or somethin'. You're a good friend, Hadley."
