Nina wasn’t one to pity others, or to really care about the feelings of others, but she did admit “I’m sorry that you can’t leave, maybe one day there will be a way for you to leave.”. She raised an eyebrow, tilting her head slightly before saying  “I’d like to see it on one of those special days then...”

“Fragile egos? Now that’s an understatement.” Nadia answered with a chuckle. “You don’t need an excuse to leave town. Although I think your idea of some time away sounds perfect. It would most certainly change things up from the current state. And lets face it, their basically all adults anyway. It’s not like I’m leaving Mason with much of a struggle.” 

“Is that so?” Nina said with a small smile forming on her lips. “We can get out of town, spend some time together, and you won’t be bored to tears anymore.”

“If you both were happy sure...” Nina offered with a nod. “But, in case you haven’t realized, we’ll never be a normal family by any stretch of the imagination. Happy, maybe, but normal isn’t in our vocabulary.”

“I’ve been told that a few times, here or there.” Hope said with a shrug, as she studied the woman in front of her.  

“It’s not a negative thing, just different.” Nina mused as she looked over the tribrid. “Almost refreshing, but I digress, New Orleans has still been quite a disappointment.

I didn’t think it would last this long. I’ve given her chances to leave and come with me.

“You clearly underestimated her feelings for Mason, or her desire for a big old happy family.” Nina offered with a shrug. “Maybe eventually she’ll take you up on one of those offers...”

“A place is what we make it.” Hope said, turning her head to glance over her shoulder, with a smile. “It’s not so bad.”

Its just a suggestion. I can’t force you into seeing them. Did you tell her this before she got married.

“What kind of daughter would I be if I told my mother not to have magical babies with her future husband? I’m more surprised you didn’t try and stop the wedding.”

What about her other kids. While we’re here you should spend some time with them.

“If I’m being honest, I always favored being an only child, and I would have been perfectly fine staying that way. I only really came to see mom,  but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to talk to them...”

“So far the only positive I’ve found in this city is the fact mom is here. If it wasn’t for that, and the fact you are here I would have left right after I got here.” Nina admitted.

“Just don’t tell them that because then they will puff their chest out like the big bad wolf or something and try to tell you otherwise. But eh, yeah. It’s so boring here. I’m losing my fucking mind.”

“So the Mikaelsons have fragile egos, note taken.” Nina said with a slight nod. She listened to her mother for a moment before tilting her head slightly and asking “Why don’t you take a vacation? Or even just get out of this dreadful place for a night? I mean, your kids can’t leave, but you can, and I’m pretty sure the Lockwoods can take care of themselves for a few hours, plus I’d love to have an excuse to get out of this town.”
