katsuki glances to the side, where deku is still giving statements to a few firemen, suit scraped up and his curls blown wild from the fight. he looks half-dead. katsuki, by comparison, is only slightly covered in blood and dirt and the entire building that came down on them before.
he'll take that win.
he huffs, shrugs at the camera as he lifts a hand to scratch absentmindedly at his freshly shaved undercut. its always itchiest on day two.
āyeah, just gotta finish this patrol in one piece. my girl said i could hit it raw if i came back without blood on me.ā
thereās a sharp, and horrific pause.
the reporter blinks. a lot.

then you turn slowly to face him, phone pressed to your ear.

katsuki flinches like heās been shot. āsir,ā he says automatically, standing at attention like heās in court-mandated detention. his voice cracks like he's a scared teenager.
