Reasons why Doffy’s left eye could be damaged:
- In his flashback we saw people taking revenge, because the tenryuubito let humans get burned alive, starve to death or took their eyes, so they made Doffy feel hunger during all the time before they tried to burn him alive, and they could also have tried to damage his eyes. - We saw people shooting many arrows and one guy shot an arrow right into the direction of Doffy’s left eye and we hear the sound of an arrow landing in the moment Doffy wakes up bathed in sweat. In that time we saw him opening only his right eye. - The left eye on his jolly roger is struck through. - When Sanji attacked him from the left side, he turned around like 180 degrees, was surprised and had trouble blocking the hit. - The left side seemed to be his weak point also during the fight with Luffy. Doflamingo blocked the most of his attacks, even though Luffy is fast. Two clear hits that were landed came from the left side, so maybe Doffy didn’t notice them on time, because that left eye is blind. - Also he never takes off his glasses in front of others, not even during the winter night on Minion Island or while being imprisoned.
p.s. since Doffy was always wearing sunglasses, even in the worst situations, it’s possible that his eye was damaged even before the incident, but idk. Hopefully we’ll find out one day.
