Thumbs down for Tumblr Live 👎🏼

Dear @staff,

I totally understand that you guys want to introduce new features that allow Tumblr to make money. You guys have often talked about generating enough revenue, so the site can continue to run. I really understand that. I can also see that live streaming might be a thing that generates revenue for you guys. But the implementation of Tumblr Live is so bad!

The features is placed way too aggressively (probably on purpose) but what's worse is that it's also super trashy! Like Omegle-type trashy, in an app that is supposed to be about fandom and aesthetics! To me, it definitely makes the app experience worse. Looking at the garbage I'm shown at the top of my dash right now, I just don't feel like posting pretty & aesthetic content anymore. It makes me want to use the app less. It makes me feel like I'm posting to a website that prioritizes low quality, bad content. And to me that was literally the main differentiating factor between Tumblr and larger sites like Instagram.

You guys can totally keep Tumblr Live around. But please get it out of my face 🥲

Or try to improve the quality of live streams. Either one would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Mario Galaxy isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The game is really ugly in both visuals and level design, it’s a slow slog, and the music makes me feel naught but bored. Playing the game as a kid genuinely made me lose interest in Mario for years, but everyone else seems to love it.

Hot(ish?) take: Fi is the most annoying Zelda character of not Nintendo character overall. I love her concept as the sword spirit but the whole "bleep bloop I detect a 97.8% chance I'm gonna bother you again in 2 minutes" is so grating and out of place in the Zelda series. Slippy and Navi don't stand a chance. (And although I enjoyed him in BotW, in TotK Yunobo is giving her a run for her money)

Yeah I kind of I agree. In most cases, these helping characters just end up being annoying. But if I think about it, the other way around is also a problem. Because in other games (Link's Awakwning) the owl gives you the most random hints and then just send you off into the abyss, like I was confused soooo much playing that game 😭

And I'm grateful that Nintendo made Navi more bearable in the OoT remakes, apparently she was insufferable in the N64 version. Still all good games tho!
