“ Well, I did have a great trainer, remember? ” Patty hums out softly, hands moving grip his chin once more, focusing his eyes on her again. “ How’s FANTASTIC sound? cataclysmically incredible? your sex could make the world around me fall apart, ” Patty went on, her words running out before she finally leans in, pressing her lips into his passionately, pulling him close. She knew when he was in a good mood, when he’d been serious and when he’d been taunting her. He LOVED to see her worked up, it had always been apart of them, apart of their relationship. They would fight, but at the end of the night it had always been HIM that been next to her in bed. Honestly, how could she resist? Pulling away, she listened to his words, cerulean hues rolling in his direction, her smile widening at his compliment. They’d been through a lot in the past few months, hell, in the past six years they’d known each other, so many things had changed. And now? “ We’re getting MARRIED, ” the blonde grinned, pure happiness etched across her features. The words came out giddy and even now, looking down to the ring that sat on her finger, she still expected to wake up every morning and expect it all to have been a dream. Shaking her head, she moved her hands, her arms resting on his shoulders as her arms linked behind his neck a sigh of contentment passing through rosy lips. “ God, that’s how you KNOW I’m stressed. I start talking in my sleep like a psycho. By the way, no matter what, as long as you’re there, I could care less if you were in a hawaiian shirt. Just DON’T stand me up. ”
“You’ll NEED to get me that trainer’s number, I’m feeling kinda rusty with my moves lately,” he smirked in reply, his lips stretching wider as she made him look at her. “I suppose it sounds BETTER,” he nodded. “Keep ---” Words fell into nothingness as he found his mouth covered by the blonde's. The folded arms slipped loose and he placed hands on her lower back, eyes drifting closed as he ACCEPTED the embrace -- lost himself within it. “I win,” the rookie officer chuckled against her lips, smirking softly. He KNEW that if he kept pushing specific buttons she would C R A C K and that's exactly what had happened. Still, he couldn't exactly complain. It benefitted them both, after all. Dick CAPTURED Patty's mouth in a gentler kiss before pulling back slowly, eyes almost crossed as he took in the features of the woman in front of him. His smirk SOFTENED into a loving smile and he sighed contentedly. “If I knew that THIS was the response I was going to get after getting into trouble at work, I would have caused HAVOC months ago.” Soft fingers traced the curve of Patty's cheekbones, the smile NEVER leaving his face as he once again relaxed into the back of the couch. In this moment of time, they had nothing to worry nor care about -- it was a RARE FEAT for them, but after months of working hard to get to where they both were, it was only a matter of time before the hardships lulled and gave them peace. He was just THANKFUL that it hit before he started his new job; that was stressful enough as is. “Wait... we’re getting married? Someone should have told me that!” Dick reached out and brushed a thumb over the ring he had given her -- it was SPECIAL to him, once belonging to his grandmother. It had been found in his father's possessions a couple of weeks after they had died, and it was returned to Dick while he spent time in juvenile detention. It was one of very few belongings that he had that kept him FOCUSED - kept him going. And now she wore it. He could only P R A Y that his father would approve of the life he had chosen to lead now. “It doesn't bother me, I wear earplugs,” he teased further before eyebrows knitted together. Did she REALLY think he would do such a thing? “That’s NEVER going to happen -- the Hawaiian shirt, that is. The other thing? I can’t PROMISE that there won’t be a Gilmore Girls rerun that I might have to watch, so...”
