I haven't drawn properly in a long time, so I decided to make a sketch for future art where Pennywise (and Dick will be in the car)
While slowly writing Pennywise’s POV, I realized he’s turning out a bit out-of-character (OOC), at least in terms of raw bloodthirst, inhumanity, and savagery. But at the same time, it lets me explore him through a lens of quiet horror, the kind that creeps into his thoughts and reflections on humans, his own existence, and wearing human guises.
Honestly, he’s so hard to write. I remember the era when I used to read IT movie fanfics, and he was always (well, almost always) way more bloodthirsty and murderous in his actions.
Meanwhile, here I am doing a whole "well, well, well" with his sibling dynamics, identity crises, and the idea that he might have his own suppressed fear (because if It gets scared, It dies).
So yeah, it's tough. On the bright side, my friend gave me some awesome advice on Pennywise’s inner monologue, what to include, and what metaphors (especially eating/consuming metaphors) to use. I hope it turns out juicy and captures that classic IT vibe.
Oh, and a mini-spoiler: the Deadlights are pulling one way, and Pennywise is pulling the other. There’s a major conflict brewing.
Maybe that’s why it’s taking me so long to write this chapter (*゚▽゚*)
Hallowise perfume
Just sharing some character scent ideas from my fanfiction. Here is how I imagine their perfume pyramids with a bit more detail.
Dick Hallorann:
Top notes: Sharp scent of ozone before a storm, crisp frosty air, and crushed mint leaves.
Heart notes: Spicy ground black pepper, burning hot coffee, warm melted butter, and the hot metal of a steam iron on freshly washed clothes.
Base notes: Dry wood ash, acrid gunpowder burn, smoke.
Real perfumes with this vibe: Comme des Garçons — Odeur 71 (electricity and hot iron), Kerosene — Follow (coffee and spices), BeauFort London — Tonnerre (ash and smoke).

A small sketch (it seems I'm doing everything to postpone editing the chapter and writing the last post)
Angel Dick x Demon Pennywise
Maturin and Pennywise in future chapter
Dream within a dream (hallowise)
On the bright side, I’ve almost figured out how to finish the new chapter. Just a few paragraphs and pages left. And yes, it’s going to be a conversation between Pennywise and Maturin! It makes me laugh because when I was playing this dialogue in my head… Well, I can promise you one thing: Pennywise is easily dared by his sister, and then he curses and goes, "Damn, she caught me again, that old turtle!!!"
Plus, I think when Maturin does her thing, she beautifully shuts her sibling up, leaving him to just go with the flow.
Hallowise idea
While writing Pennywise’s chapter, a fun idea popped into my head. Disclaimer: I haven't watched Good Omens, but wouldn't it be funny if Dick was an angel and It was a demon? (Since Crowley is a redhead and Pennywise is too... though in this case, the cool car would definitely belong to Angel Dick)
I decided to make some kind of cover or illustration for my fanfiction, so that's what happened
Yes, it's the shadow of Pennywise's hand
A bit of a writer's block for now, but I’ve made this intriguing art :з

A little spoiler for the future chapters
Hallowise (A small piece of the new chapter)
Will slowly took off his jacket, his eyes fixed on the figure standing at the entrance to the living room. The man was impossibly tall. The image of that same clown flashed through Will's mind again. He felt a surge of anger at himself, this was the third time in ten minutes he’d thought of that creature. Perhaps it was Uncle Dick’s departure and his cryptic warning that had unsettled him?
But the moment their eyes met, a shiver ran down Will's spine. The guest had unnaturally blue eyes and auburn hair. He wore a practiced smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. There was no warmth, no kindness in their depths, only a cold, piercing curiosity.
Mr. Bright stepped forward, and Will instinctively moved to meet him, shielding Jessica with his body.
"A pleasure to meet you," the guest’s voice rang out with an unusually crisp British accent. "Miss Jessica has told me so much about you. I am Raymond Bright."
"Yes, I’ve… heard as well," Will replied, struggling to hide the tension gripping him. "William. But I suppose you knew that already. So, what brings a journalist from London to a backwater like this?"
"I am merely a traveler," Bright replied smoothly, though his gaze remained unwavering. "I enjoy discovering new horizons and savoring things I’ve never seen before. Everything in London has become far too familiar. I wanted to understand what America truly is."
"And you started with Maine?" Will narrowed his eyes. "Hardly the most obvious choice for a bloke from London."
"On the contrary, Mr. Hanlock. The most fitting one," Bright gave a faint, almost imperceptible nod. "There’s a reason these parts are called New England, after all. The old intertwines with the new so curiously here…"
The tension between them became almost tangible, but it was abruptly shattered by the shrill ring of the oven timer. From the kitchen came a loud clatter followed by Jessica’s spirited cursing.
"Dammit! Will, come quickly or I’ll burn everything! Dinner’s ready! Mr. Bright, leave my grump alone and go wash your hands!"
Hallowise (a little sketch)
Working on a chapter (from Will’s POV). I thought it’d be hilarious if Pennywise "saved" Jessica from some jerks and then, like a total gentleman, escorted her home to Will. Then, playing the friendly neighbor, he drops by with treats and starts rambling about his past, eventually fishing for info on Dick:
"Oh, so you have an uncle? What’s he look like? Out of town, you say? Where exactly?"
Will Hanlon: (squinting) Excuse me, sir... You remind me of someone.
Pennywise (as Ray): (forcing a massive, shaky smile) OH MY GOD, HAVE YOU TRIED THESE COOKIES?!
Will: No, seriously. You look just like...
Pennywise: (sweating buckets) Nonsense! Like who?!
Jessica: (with a conspiratorial wink) I’m picking up those vibes, mister...
Pennywise: (aggressively denies everything).

A little fanficedit-animation:)
Oh Pennywise, threats were a bust with Dickie, so now we’re into elite flirting? Like Let’s trade: I kill the Overlook for you, and you let me go
Hallowise
I don't know anything, but we’re definitely having a chapter with a scene where Pennywise and Dick dance a slow waltz or a tango in the Overlook Hotel’s grand ballroom. Dick’s in a white tuxedo, Pennywise is in red, and all the ghosts are watching them.
Hallowise
While working on this art, I figured I’d tease a few things coming up in the next chapter. Heads up: almost the entire chapter is from Pennywise's POV. He’s in human form now, trying to track down Dickie, so we’ll be seeing Will and Jessica again. Oh, and Maturin is back! These siblings are definitely going to "talk" (expect screaming, fighting, and pure chaotic energy).
A huge part of Pennywise and Dick’s encounters happen in dreams, and there’s a deep reason for that. I was inspired by the line in the series where Pennywise tells Marge he’s "everywhere at once." This massively impacts his perception. Crucially, Dream-Pennywise is different from Reality-Pennywise. In the dreamscape, his true nature wakes up—the Deadlights take over—and he’s in full control.
Also, we’re getting Christmas with Dick! This is the final 1974 chapter before we hit The Shining era. Expect tons of dreams, plot twists, and symbols. I’m a total symbolist. I love that Chuck Palahniuk trope where a tiny detail follows the plot until, bam, it becomes everything. Pay attention to every detail from Chapter 1!
