Gas Panic! - Demo with Noel Gallagher on vocals.

This is one of the songs that actually sounds better in demo than the final version. Obviously in a stadium it sounds best electric, but the loud-quiet dynamic here is so much more accentuated by the acoustic guitar. And the Noel’s voice has a different feel to it. It feels psychedelic in a different way to Liam’s vocals.

Liam’s voice has always been more piercing—if I’m not mistaken, because he learned to sing literally screaming to be heard over loud guitars. Noel on the other hand, his voice works well as a textured instrument and I feel it works better—or at least, differently—on this song and fits the slightly dreamy layers and textures on this. Like you could see this was some of the style he took forward into his High Flying Birds solo career.
