First Meet (starter for any Alastor blog)

Content warning: eating disorder

Getting used to Hell was difficult. Vincent had only just died a few months ago, he still had a lot to learn.

He had learned about the power hierarchy and soul deals, but he wasnt confident enough to start making soul deals himself yet. He didn't want to be tricked into giving his own soul away.

He tried to avoid talking to people if he could. He had enough incidents where sinners have tried to make deals or straight up assault him.

Hell was messy, he had learned. He needed to learn how to be quick and smart if he wanted to get by down here. Smart he could manage, quick not so much. Having a heavy box for a head slows you down a bit. It didn't help that he starved himself.

Starving himself... god, he was so hungry right now. Maybe he could find something to eat nearby that wasn't human flesh.

Food... food food food, there wasn't any food nearby. Maybe he should just curl up and die again. That seemed like a fine idea.

He found an alley and collapsed next to a dumpster. Who knew a dead person needed to eat. He didn't even like eating. He only did it if he had to.

Fuck, he was starving. Nothing quite like sitting in a disgusting alley waiting for hunger to kill you.

“Ah, what a curious looking demon you are!” A voice exclaimed from the entrance of the alleyway

Vincent turned his head to see a demon all clad in bright red. His dapper, pinstriped suit accented his thin waist. A wide smile was plastered across his face.

He walked right up to Vincent and held his hand out for a handshake.

“I am known as Alastor the Radio Demon. What is your name, my dear?”

Vincent's screen glitched, looking up at the demon with confusion and almost offense.

He was dying and this random sinner was trying to make casual conversation with him. What kind of sick joke was this?

"Um. Vincent." He murmured his name. He curled up on himself pulling his legs up to his chest and hugging his stomach.

"Well Vincent," Alastor knelt down in front of the TV man, maintaining eye contact at all times. "You seem rather lost. Do you require assistance?"

Okay, now he was really confused. Who was this guy? Offering help to a stranger in Hell?

"Uh..." he winced as his stomach growled. "I'm kind of starving right now... do you know where I can find food that's not human flesh?" He asked.

Alastor let out a hearty chuckle.

“Well, I myself am rather fond of such a meat, but I do know of some pleasant restaurant nearby that serve other sorts of food.”

"Can you like... Do me a favor? Grab something from there and bring it to me, please? I don't think I'm able to walk all the way." Vincent murmured.

“Nonsense,” Alastor exclaimed and snapped his fingers.

He summoned black tenticles underneath Vox. They brought Vox into Alastor’s arms, who then carried him out of the alleyway.

The TV's antennae perked when he was lifted up and placed in the other sinner's arms. "Oh!" His screen seemed to glow a slightly brighter blue before dulling back to it's normal brightness after a moment.

"This.. This isn't really necessary..." he murmured.

“That’s a shame, because I’ll continue regardless?” Alastor said as he carrying Vincent.

They soon arrived at a decently nice looking restaurant. Alastor walked in, and the two were seated quickly. The waiter seemed a little confused at Alastor carrying Vincent, but didn’t say anything.

When they got to their table, Alastor sat Vincent down before sitting across from him.

Vincenr tried not to look too embarrassed about the whole thing. He couldn't help feeling a little pathetic, though.

Well, a lot pathetic but he wouldn't admit that.

"So... why are you helping me?" Vincent asked, antennae twitching. "Are you going to try and make me sell my soul to you or something?"

"Wh-" Vincent's screen glowed bright, presumably blushing. "I'm not pathetic!" He said defensively.

He proceeded to further prove Alastor's point when the waiter came and asked for is order and he stupidly stumbled over his words.

Once the waiter left, Alastor looked back at Vincent, his expression a bit softer now.

“Tell me, darling, how long have you been in Hell?”

"Only a few months." Vincent answered honestly. "I haven't been down here for all that long." He shrugged.

"You said your name was Alastor, right? Now that I think about it, you sound familiar. Aren't you like... really powerful or something?" He asked.

"Isn't radio kinda dead though?" Vincent asked, tilting his head like a curious puppy. "I mean, everyone's watching television now. No one uses radios anymore." He shrugged.

Then he realized he probably shouldn't be talking badly about radio to the very powerful overlord who just saved his life.

"Um. N-Not that radios bad or anything, just... Y'know... Outdated I guess."

Alastor grit his teeth and stared daggers at Vincent. He began releasing radio frequencies from his body.

“Choose your words carefully, dear.”

Vincent's antennae drooped and he suddenly felt really nervous. "Y-Yes, sir..." He said quietly, looking down at the table.

The waiter came back with food and Vincent was glad to have a change in subject. He thanked the waiter politely before feeding food through his screen.

“You look worse for wear, dear. I assume these past few weeks have not been kind to you.”

"Oh, uh... Just struggling to adjust to Hell, I guess." Vincent shrugged. "It's tough down here. I guess I shouldn't be surprised."

"I was gay as a teenager." Vincent answered.

"I think murdering a bunch people also had something to do with it, but it was probably because I was gay." He shrugged.

"You think having carnal desires for men is worse of a sin than being a serial killer?" Alastor asked, tilting his head to the side.

"I mean, that's sorta what I was taught growing up." Vincent shrugged. He tapped his claws against the table. He continued eating like the conversation was normal.

"My dad threatened to kill me over it and I was sent to conversion therapy for a while." He added casually.

Alastor gave a scoff and a hand wave. "Your father is likely down here with you. Besides, if you don't mind murder, why should you care to conform to such trivial expectations."

Vincent looked uncomfortable. He stared down at his half-eaten meal and pushed it aside.

"Thanks for the food and helping me. I should get going." He said, standing up.

"Are you sure you're full? You looked rather malnourished when I found you, dear," he said sternly.

He actually was still kind of hungry, but he didn't really care. Wasnt anything he wasnt used too. He really just wanted to get out of this conversation.

"Thanks again." He walked out of the building. He didn't expect to ever see Alastor again.

Getting used to Hell was difficult. Vincent had only just died a few months ago, he still had a lot to learn.

He had learned about the power hierarchy and soul deals, but he wasnt confident enough to start making soul deals himself yet. He didn't want to be tricked into giving his own soul away.

He tried to avoid talking to people if he could. He had enough incidents where sinners have tried to make deals or straight up assault him.

Alastor let out a hearty chuckle.

“Well, I myself am rather fond of such a meat, but I do know of some pleasant restaurant nearby that serve other sorts of food.”

"Can you like... Do me a favor? Grab something from there and bring it to me, please? I don't think I'm able to walk all the way." Vincent murmured.

“Nonsense,” Alastor exclaimed and snapped his fingers.

He summoned black tenticles underneath Vox. They brought Vox into Alastor’s arms, who then carried him out of the alleyway.

The TV's antennae perked when he was lifted up and placed in the other sinner's arms. "Oh!" His screen seemed to glow a slightly brighter blue before dulling back to it's normal brightness after a moment.

"This.. This isn't really necessary..." he murmured.

“That’s a shame, because I’ll continue regardless?” Alastor said as he carrying Vincent.

They soon arrived at a decently nice looking restaurant. Alastor walked in, and the two were seated quickly. The waiter seemed a little confused at Alastor carrying Vincent, but didn’t say anything.

When they got to their table, Alastor sat Vincent down before sitting across from him.

Vincenr tried not to look too embarrassed about the whole thing. He couldn't help feeling a little pathetic, though.

Well, a lot pathetic but he wouldn't admit that.

"So... why are you helping me?" Vincent asked, antennae twitching. "Are you going to try and make me sell my soul to you or something?"

Alastor shrugged. "I find your pathetic nature rather charming. You're like a lost stray in need of protection."

"Wh-" Vincent's screen glowed bright, presumably blushing. "I'm not pathetic!" He said defensively.

He proceeded to further prove Alastor's point when the waiter came and asked for is order and he stupidly stumbled over his words.
