Some Nights || Honor & Noah
Honor walked along side Noah, staying quiet while she listened to him talk about the government. He seemed to keep it pretty neutral. Not so much pro or con. All the lies piling in her head began spinning around, heavy on her tongue as she prepared just what she could tell him. Honor had perfected remaining honest and not lying at the same time these last few years of her life. But it was easier with people you didn’t share a past with. Noah was an entirely different story. “Yeah they’re-” She stopped suddenly though in the middle of the sidewalk, shaking her head. “I’ll answer your questions if you answer mine.” She challenged him suddenly, her chin lifting slightly as she eyed him carefully.
In all honest despite what the two had been pushed through together Honor didn’t know him all that well. He didn’t seem like some insane Government activist but could she trust him. “Do you really like being in the government?” She asked, hands going back to her pockets, lightly tracing over the handle of her blade. Just in case.
Noah stopped ahead of Honor, a perplexed look on his face, he had no idea what made her stop, he was about to ask before she spoke. He was suddenly getting really nervous and became more and more jittery, not being able to keep still. What kind of questions did Honor have to ask him. "Oh...kay. Go ahead, I'm an open book." He took a sideways glance at her, waiting in anticipation at what she was going to ask.
Oh, that question wasn't too bad Noah supposed. He wondered why she'd get the suspicion he didn't like his job or why she even had that thought at all. He scratched his head in thought, "Uhh...you want me to answer honestly or you won't answer my questions? That's it right?" He didn't look at her he just racked his brain, trying to find the answer that even he wasn't entirely sure about. He let out a long sigh before answering, "No. I don't really like being in the government. I hate it, but would I drop it all and go back to the gang life? No. The benefits are quite nice and I've changed too much since I've been a Lost Boy. Honestly, I just do as I'm told and leave it at that. It's my job and I have to follow the rules, but I don't support the government now. I never did." He smiled at her hopefully reassuring her that what he said was the honest truth because it was. "Does that answer your question?"
