“I guess you’re right,” Alex agreed; he was right, Poor the whole world. It was a sad reality they were living in, with terrorist attacks and wars and fear instilled in nearly every person on the planet, no matter how “safe” your country is. Alex could remember the attacks in Paris over the last few years, how a city known for its romantic atmosphere and love had been attacked just to prove a point. So she had to agree, poor the whole world. Because she knew the reality was that everyone was scared.
“I can take care of myself, have for a long time,” she added the last part almost in spite of her mother, knowing Meredith was glaring down at her from wherever she was right now, watching her every move. But it was true. Alex had practically raised herself, and when she left home she was fully in charge of her life, unlike before where it was more like 75%. So yeah, she could take care of herself just fine. “But thanks for the concern,” she said a second later, not wanting to sound like a complete asshole. “An art studio. Mostly paintings, but I draw a lot too.”
It was a really scary thought - the fact that the whole world seemed to be fighting each other because of differences that shouldn’t even be something that they should be fighting about. Noah remembered close to every terrorist attack the news had covered and it sent a shiver down his spine every time. Growing up, the new generation would see nothing but terrorism, death and horrible pictures on the TV because the world has lost its way. The mere thought that his sister Thalia would grow up in a world like this, absolutely disgusted him and he wished there was something he could do to make sure she’d be living in a place that was filled with happiness and love. She didn’t deserve anything less.
I can take care of myself. Noah lifted his hands in a defensive manner. “Alright, sorry,” he mumbled and looked at the girl with raised brows. But thanks for the concern. Shrugging his shoulders, he mumbled a quiet, no worries and he licked lips lips absentmindedly as he looked at the ground, noticing a small pond of water next to his feet, having probably been made the night before as it had been raining pretty heavily. An art studio. Mostly paintings, but I draw a lot too. “Art studio, huh? Wow. Impressive.”
