MASTERLIST
23 July 2007
Youâre currently wedged between two bookshelves in the living room of your house, eyes trained on the words in your book, giggling to yourself when the plot takes a funny turn. Meanwhile in the background, Jungkook and your brother Taehyung, both a year older than you, the two ten year old boys play fighting in your parents backyard, their game was way too rough for you to even watch, you decided.
Thatâs always the way itâs been since you were young, Jungkookâs mum dropping him off at your parents place as he spent time with your brother, mostly roughhousing like they are now, and you, at nine years old, simply tucking yourself in another fairytale, which to you seemed like a much better way to past time.
You never truly spent a lot of time with the two of them when Jungkook would come over, besides the once-in-a-while moments where your parents would make you guys bond a little through board games or card games which the two elder boys would never take seriously, the games always ending in them either throwing the board game pieces at each other or stacking the cards into a pyramid.
When it came to school, you tried your best to stay away from bumping into your brother at school, but youâd always end up being teased in front of your friends by him and Jungkook, making fun of your two pigtails or your very glittery pink bag you had just gotten as a birthday gift, but you were used to it anyways, having grown up with a brother.
12 August 2011
Four years go by and now youâre finally completing your last year in middle school, Jungkook and your brother having moved on to high school, and as expected, they end up attending the same school, as they have done their whole life.
But since four years ago, a lot has changed. Youâve grown much closer to Jungkook, having gone on quite a few trips with his family, and you could even consider him a close friend. Most importantly, heâd grown from being a kid to a teenager, even though he was only a year older than you, the 14 year old boy suddenly became someone you always wanted to hang out with. To you, you saw him as someone cool. Instead of teasing you along with your brother, he now would defend you from your brotherâs teasing, treat you to ice cream on the weekends and even teach you the video games he played with your brother.
âAnd then he let me get as many toppings as I wanted,â You tell your friends, clicking the buttons on your phone to show them the picture of your ice cream, filled to the brim with all sorts of toppings because Jungkook said you could.
âYouâre so lucky, I wish I had a boyfriend like that,â Jiyeon sighs, pouting her lips as she sulks.
Your face turns red, tip of your ears warm as you quickly deny, âHe isnât my boyfriend! Just a friend⌠In fact he was my brotherâs friend first,â No, you couldnât even begin to try and imagine Jungkook as someone more than your friend!
âWell, but you should definitely confess to him on valentineâs day, itâs in like six months,â Yuji twirls her hair, nudging your leg slightly as she giggled.
To the three of you, as 13 year old girls, having a valentine was a big deal, especially since the whole idea of a crush and all was new to you guys as teenage girls.
âNo! I donât have feelings for him! Heâs just nice to me I guess,â You frown at Yuji, just because she confessed to her crush and now apparently has a boyfriend, doesnât mean you need to do it too, you decided.
You didnât have a crush on Jungkook right?
You push away the thought quickly, this whole topic was so taboo to you, it made you feel squirmy thinking about it. No, you didnât have any sort of feelings towards the older boy, never.
-
So that day when you arrived back at home, spotting Jungkook and Taehyung sitting at the table and doing their homework, you decide to take a seat away from the certain boy.
âHuh? Why are you sitting all the way there? Come back here,â Jungkook hums, pulling out his earphones in bewilderment, you had always sat next to him whilst the three of you would do homework together after school, nudging him here and there to ask for help with a math problem.
âI- okay,â You scooch towards the chair next to him, dragging your books along the table as you avoid eye contact. Your cheeks heating up again as you remember your conversation with your friends in school earlier, it made you feel all tingly inside, but why were you being so weird in front of him?
âYouâve been staring at that math problem for ages, need help?â
You jump up in surprise at Jungkookâs voice , letting out a small yelp as your brother snickers at you from across the table, you kick his shin in response, sending his hands flailing to the injury, mumbling some cuss word you donât understand.
âYeah,â You only muster out a whisper, handing over your pencil to the boy, who finds your behaviour a little off but nonetheless, doesnât comment on it.
And while he explains the solution and working to find the value of X, you can only notice his eyes, his nose, the mole under his lips, the scar on his cheek from when he fought with your brother years ago, his lips.
And then you for yourself to snap out of your daydream when his eyes lock with yours in confusion as to why youâre staring at him instead of your workbook.
03 January 2012
But then five months later, opportunity for valentineâs day didnât even come for you anyways, as you pack your bags to move miles away from the place you once called home, since your father had been posted to a new country for his work.
The whole idea of leaving your life behind and all the people youâve ever known since young was such an overwhelming feeling that you didnât even think once about your feelings for Jungkook anymore, or maybe you did once, but it didnât matter.
So when you tugged your luggage and watch your brother sadly hug his best friend goodbye at the airport, reality struck, you wouldnât ever get a chance to even properly assess your feelings for Jungkook anyways, so you simply wave him goodbye, not looking back so you donât think further than a goodbye.
He did make sure to exchange his Instagram and Facebook with you, promising you and your brother to keep in touch, which you agreed to. Maybe there was a part of you that wanted to cling onto the idea of him, but you didnât let yourself believe that anyways.
i was thinking, (also this is my current situation) but my boyfie!jk comforting oc after she cried her eyes out because her friends dropped her? or something close to that
hihi! i have a really similar bf drabble
and i hope everything gets better and youâll find better company soon! â¤ď¸ hugss
warnings/summary: oc takes up a new job as a cashier, and she gets a CAT, jk is a little grumpy but he gets better, heâs also annoying by calling ocâs cat a cottonbud LOL, he calls her sweetheart, and oc has a little crushy crush on this hot neighbour, they bump into each other three times, basically theyâre destined to meet each other even when they barely know each other

series masterlist!
âGoddamn, how many pieces of clothing do you own?â Yeji grunts as she helps to pull along two of your suitcases into her apartmentâs lift.
âItâs all costumes for my competitions, my coach keeps insisting to keep them in case we need it in the future,â You internally sigh at the thought of your coach, she wasnât bad by all means, but she constantly pushed you to your limits with countless competitions she enrolled you in. But after all, you didnât come to Seoul and join the national team expecting a smooth and comfortable journey.
âAnyways, youâve gotta tap the card right here,â She explains the whole crazy security system here, then passes you the access card to the apartment. One week ago you wouldâve probably not expected to be in this situation, now moving in with your best friend, as well as her boyfriend who has begun to sleepover at her place more often than necessary. But right now if it meant that less money would fall out of your bank account, putting up with whatever third-wheeling you were about to go through would make it all worth it.
You pull your other two suitcases into the lift, noticing a man shuffling into the corner to make space for the two of you and your four huge suitcases. The lift door closes and thereâs this deafening silence that fills the lift, with the way Yeji widens her eyes at you but says nothing, you assume it might be about the latter standing in the corner of the lift.
âWhat kind of signals were you trying to send me in there?â You whine when the lift door finally closes, as Yeji abandons the now-rolling-away suitcases to grab onto your hands.
âItâs rolling!â You exclaim, as she jumps slightly, your voice raising a little louder than usual in panic.
âSorry-sorry, anyways, heâs the guy I told you about! Maybe I can set you up with him,â She wiggles her eyebrows at you, giving you the same taunting look she did when she had proposed moving into her apartment.
âNo! I donât even know that man, anyways with those looks he might already be taken,â You brush your best friend off, anyways, you didnât want a relationship right? When Yeji had told you about the hot guy in her apartment, you had immediately brushed the idea of being set up off, since thatâs exactly how you met your ex, and it definitely did not end on a good note.
âOh, so youâre attracted to him?â She jogs in front of you to look you in the eye, seemingly much more excited at her sudden discovery than you.
âWhat? No I didnât say that? I just- whatever! Open the door!â
She only smirks at your stuttering, but complies as she opens the front door to her unit, and youâre greeted with a familiar sight that you now need to get used to calling home.
-
People had always praised you for being dainty and sweet, always dressed up in elegant costumes during your competitions, your moves on ice had always charmed the audience with how smooth you twirled and jumped.
You would like to say that they might change their minds when they spot you in this current situation: no makeup on, eyebags peeking through, in a neon green vest as you stare at the rows of cigarettes behind the cashier.
The younger you would have never expected to end up working part time in this convenience store, but here you are.
But somehow it didnât seem too bad, you were the only worker here, besides a sweet lady who comes and sweeps the floor every evening, and the best part: you got to control the music.
To be honest, you may have been enjoying yourself a little too much with the way you hum to the music as you drink the complimentary-one-a-day coffee your manager had given you.
âOne pack of menthol,â Your sudden peace is abruptly disrupted as you whip your head around, jumping slightly as you hear the voice sound from behind you.
Oh. Itâs the same man from the lift, this time heâs wearing another suit in a different colour, but this time he seems much more drained than before.
âI said-â He repeats himself again, noticing your spaced out look as you stare straight at him.
âOh, yeah! Sorry sorry, itâs been a long day,â You quickly gather yourself, mentally cursing yourself for checking out the man in front of you so shamelessly, but he only scoffs at your little mistake.
Heâs either a total dickhead or is just having a bad day. Hopefully its the latter since as much as you hate to admit it, maybe he perhaps has caught your attention.
But the same man quickly walks out of the store the moment you return his black credit card, as youâre now once alone in the store, gathering your things to finally end your shift.
-
Itâs only a few days later where you meet your next crisis, or rather a blessing in disguise.
An innocent trip to the local fair turned into you signing adoption papers for this fluffy little furball that you absolutely could not leave. To be fair, you were mainly there to find some cute accessories to buy, but the newly put up adoption booth had caught your eye.
The moment your eyes had met the beady little eyes of the small white cat, you couldnât say no. Even if it meant paying thrice your income from working at the convenience store, anything would be worth this cat.
But then again, your heart sank further once the lady at the counter had told you the animals put up were free to adopt, or else they would be euthanised the following day. It almost made you attempt to calculate just how much it would cost to take care of all the animals here, but in the end you had settled to just bring the cat home.
âYeji, hypothetically how mad would you be on a scale of 1 to 10 if I brought a cat home?â You press your phone in between your shoulder and cheek as you wrap the little cat in its blanket, snuggling the animal close to your chest in hopes to provide it more warmth.
âYouâre kidding me right now,â You hear her sigh at the other end, âWhat makes you think we can raise a cat? Let alone you working night shifts and being out at training in the day?â
She wasnât wrong, but youâre pretty sure itâll all be okay.
âTrust me, the lady managing the adoption booth told me cats are way more independent, we can get her an automatic feeder and Iâll need to get a litter box too, and maybe some toys and treats on the side tooâŚâ
She sighs again, âAnd thatâll cost a gajillion dollars, where are you going to get that from?â
âIâll find a way, trust me,â
-
Truth to be told, the package deal you had got for litter and food was a little more pricey than you had anticipated, but you were confident that it would save you money in the future anyways.
Cloud, the newly named cat, of which you spent many hours deciding on a name for her, was easier to handle than expected, she often played with the little gadget toy Yeji had got her, and learnt how to use her litterbox in a day, which made you come to a conclusion that you had raised a genius.
But yet your oh-so-smart furkid may also be a little too intelligent, the absence of a certain cat in the apartment has now caused your anxiety and hysteria.
âHow did she manage to escape with us not noticing again! The last time I saw her crawl through your legs but this time I swear she disappeared into thin air!â Youâre on the verge of tears as you tell Yeji, who only rubs her palm up and down your back as a offering of comfort.
âBut youâve got her tagged up, your number and her name is attached to her collar, Iâm sure anyone who finds her will definitely call you immediately,â She tells you, watching as you now begin to hiccup, tears forming and rolling down your cheeks.
âWhat if she got run down by a car? Or some psychopath who hates cats found her? Oh my poor baby, she must be missing me already,â Thereâs a million different scenarios that play through your head, all leading to Cloud ending up in nowhere else but cat heaven.
âSheâll be fine, calm down, my friendâs cat often runs out of the house but the cat always returns every few days, some of them prefer to go out and explore, perhaps Cloud is the same,â
You can only sigh and hope for the best.
-
unknown number: hey
unknown number: did you lose a cat?
You gasp to yourself when your eyes scan the new text that had appeared on your screen, someone had found her.
you: YES
you: DONâT DO ANYTHING TO HER PLEASE
you: i promise ill pay anything for you not to do anything
Your heart beats frantically in your chest watching the three dots appear and disappear over and over again. There was no way a psychopath had truly found Cloud and already decided to perform whatever possible traumatic procedure on her right?
unknown number: why would i do anything to it??
unknown number: in fact your cat is the one who had run into my apartment and marked her territory all over.
Oh. That was the last thing you had expected.
you: do you have a litter box in your house?
The three dots taunt you as they appear once and pause for a good minute, as if whoever is on the other side is pondering hard to answer your simple question.
unknown number: what kind of question is that??
unknown number: i dont own a cat, why tf would i own a litter box??
You frown at the reply, you were grateful he didnât do anything to Cloud, but a simple no would be great.
you: just send me your address!!
you: i need to see if sheâs alright, she probably is crying for me right now
unknown number: itâs sleeping peacefully under my bed right now, i dont think its upset at all.
unknown number: hereâs the address: xxx
You sigh in relief when you realise itâs the unit above your apartment, which meant she couldnât have gone too far.
you: first of all, you never know if sheâs crying in her heart
you: second of all, stop calling Cloud an it!!! she has a name and she is a girl
you: third of all, im coming upstairs im in the same apartment complex
You roll your eyes when a reply comes in faster than it did before, mostly because itâs an insult to your cat:
unknown number: who names a cat cloud?? she looks more like a cotton bud, hurry and get her.
-
When you reach the floor above you, youâre met with a black door, no doorbell in sight. So you simply knock, sure that it had been the person that found Cloud since it was the only unit on the floor.
What you didnât expect is to be met with the same man you saw whilst working at the convenience store. Instead heâs in a loose shirt and some shorts, hair not styled as a few pieces of bangs fall over his eyes. His presence daunts you a little, considering how darkly lit his place was, and how he towered over you.
âOh? So we meet again,â He seems to recognise you as he steps aside, watching as you take off your bedroom slippers, which you now curse at yourself for wearing since it was pink and fluffy.
You think you hear a little laugh when he spots your slippers but you choose to believe he didnât anyways.
âWhere is my baby?â You step in now, taking in the view of his place. Itâs a little larger than Yejiâs apartment, and the interior seems⌠lacking some colour. Itâs mostly black and grey furniture, with hints of marble and some white chairs here and there, but itâs a total opposite of your apartment.
âDonât think she cares enough to be your baby, but your baby pissed all over my balenciaga shoes and my dumbbells,â He deadpans, nodding his head to show you the dark pair of shoes that now hang at the window, you assume to dry them out.
âYour what shoes?!â You almost turn pale at the mention of the designer brand, thereâs no way he might ask you to get him a new pair right?
âForget about that, go and get Cottonbud out of my room,â He walks into the hallway, looking back once to check if you follow him.
âWhat did you just call her?!â You yell at him from behind as he enters a room, a bed coming into sight and a much too familiar tail that sticks out from under the bed.
âCloud!â Youâre far too busy attempting to reunite with your cat to bother hearing another reply from the man, but the moment you come closer to the swaying tail, Cloud dashes away from your grasp and hides at the very deep end from under the bed.
âLooks like someone isnât too keen on seeing you,â
You whip around, a frown on your face as you are met with the man who smirks, almost taunting you.
âShut up,â
âWhatâre you gonna do now then? The catâs gone further under the bed, I canât reach there either,â He has his hands on his hips, standing and waiting for your reply.
His gaze and posture makes you feel small, and not having a single clue what to do fuels this feeling in you. And perhaps add some butterflies in too and itâll perfectly describe how you are feeling.
âI- I donât know! Iâve never had to deal with this situation before!â Youâre pacing up and down, glancing at the bed, hoping Cloud would magically pop out and leap into your arms so you can run home away from this man.
âWell Iâve got all day sweetheart, you can slowly find a way to get Cottonbud out of my house,â
unbelievable!!! i still cant believe ive seen them in person, and i got pretty good seats too! đ¤đ¤ it was goosebumps on my skin all the way, such a memorable experience đĽš
