Man, I'm so excited for Sinner's Choice. And I'm so proud of the Obey Me team (developers, VAs, artists, etc) because damn everything looks AMAZING. Our beloved characters are back and they have amazing designs and the voice acting is so good and the setting is equally intriguing and we have spotlights on characters we didn't get to see much of before (Barbatos) and god I am really hoping that this project succeeds because they absolutely deserve it for the work they're cleary putting in it
more art from lucifer's new game coming out on pride month (gay) and we got him ripping his wings apart and having major break downs. love the drama, love the visuals, and love that they're apparently really turning up the seriousness in this one
but also there is him on the floor being stepped on BY BARBATOS??? with roses around them like it's an actual romance scene (lmao) while he'a smirking all dishelved??
I mean, a likely position for lucifer to be in but WITH BARB?? oh, a new ship is definitely setting sail here and I'm not mad at all

I think a lot less people would feel threatened by the prospect of a character being aroace if they learnt how to conceptualize and write character relationships and dynamics outside of sex and romance. Because as long as people think no longer being able to write both characters in their favourite dynamic being sexually and romantically attracted to each other means a loss in intimacy and closeness, they're going to see any aroasexuality as an attack on character dynamics they care about and get upset when characters are confirmed aroace, unless those characters are unshippable side characters they never really cared about so they never accidentally get invested in an aroace character.

the found family aspect, and I'm signing under everyone who had the same answer to give.
it's the one thing I think obey me nailed like no other game I've played so far. the brothers' relationship with each other, barbatos and diavolo's, solomon, simeon, and luke's, and all the different pairings within that. the dynamics between the characters as friends and family are just so important to the story and so intertwined with each of their development throughout it and the game always shone a light on that, which made it extra special to me.
and of course, there is lucifer, who's in my opinion the character who best encapsulates all of this.
from taking the others under his wings when they were being treated as outcasts in heaven and standing up to god itself to save his sister to him continuing to give his all to protect and look after his loved ones, even when it meant making them hate him and view him as the villain... I mean, this man was fully ready to give his life up in order to save his family even when he lost his memories and only had feelings to hold on to and I think that's ✨ beautifully tragic ✨ (what basically sums up his entire character)
and there is also the whole aspect of looking at religion critically and telling a story about these beings who found a home in hell after escaping “paradise” (their hell) that me as a raised religious turned atheist goblin ate it up cuz...yeah, of course I would.
anyway, I love the game for how much it values platonic relationships and the concept of having a chosen family, and the self-sacrificing workaholic demon struggling to parent his chaotic siblings plus one additional human is my comfort character🧍

I'm wondering...in the story, Diavolo explains that marriage between humans and demons isn't possible because there is still a lot of bad blood between the realms and most demons are against even the exchange program, so I guess this app will take place far into the future? or it'll just not be a part of canon...hm.
We need to look more into the "if you wanted to kill me I would let you" side of Lucifer's relationship with his brothers and MC

Like, wdym I just got in hell and you want me to somehow figure out how convince Lucifer and his brothers (six of the most powerful demons in hell) to make pacts with me without giving away any ulterior motives? To consistently lie to the only people guaranteeing my safety in this place and risk angering them just to try and free you??
I mean, you're practically immortal so a year for you isn't that much time, you're in a nice room, and you don't have to go to RAD like the rest of us! Like, you're getting fed and you spend most of your time asleep. Your situation is not that bad. Oh, but you don't want to be in isolation for the rest of the year till the exchange program ends? Well, tough luck bud, that's what most of us had to go through during the pandemic. You can wait.

So I finished the new lesson and I have to ask, why wouldn't MC tell everyone what happened?
We got kidnapped and thrown into another timeline by an unknown entity who's still out there and will probably come looking for us again, had to deal with the just recently fallen brothers and so much shit happened, and even though time didn't pass while we were gone, the entire cast can tell that something is REALLY wrong, but MC just chooses to let everyone stay confused and concerned and not say a thing?
I thought MC's memories were messed up and that was the reason (they didn't really understand what was happening themself), but from the conversation with Solomon on the phone (that also felt really weird btw) it seems like they're fully aware of everything so...why?
I know they'll probably explain it later, but I'm just leaving my initial thoughts here.

Obviously normally a gacha game will never make drastic changes to their characters, and Simeon has the 'appeal' of being marketed as an angel, but I just don't like how they are trying to make him an angel again? Like he wants to be an angel because of Raphael/Luke now, not because of any real attachement to the CR. Hell, even If he were to made It back to being a archangel, he would just be Michael's errant boy, he would still be demoted, and every problem he had with the CR before being turned in a human would still be there, he would be in square one again I guess.
Like even If I don't like human!Simeon, in the Devilgram Coffee Someday, he talks about how he dreams of opening a cafetería and how he never thought an angel could 'dream of something like that' (this being in the NB timeline, a obvious reference of him opening the Angel's Halo in OGS3) Is he just suposse to abandone his dream like that? To return to the Celestial Realm just for the sake of Raphael & Luke? I do wonder... Is there really a life for Simeon in the Celestial Realm?

From the very beginning of the story I always expected Simeon's arc to end up with him falling and that being the catalyst that brought Luke to see the other side and really start deprogramming the negative ways he was taught to view demons, especially fallen angels, from growing up in the celestial realm after the war and the brothers' ""betrayal""
It just seemed like an obvious (and interesting) route for the story to take, but we ended up with him becoming a human, then almost turning into a demon, then back to being a human and probably back to being an angel next
It doesn't feel right for the things already mentioned in your post because yeah, the story never left the impression that Simeon enjoyed living in the CR...? He was there for Luke (and his brothers before he came around) and my theory is that Luke was really the only thing keeping him from falling post-war and during the entire time period before the program started (and that Luke might've been placed in his care for that exact reason so the CR didn't lose another one of its greatest soldiers...)
Just seemed like the most logical turn for his storyline. He's back in the presence of his brothers, realizing how much happier they are as demons and how being an angel is limiting him from following his desires and being truly happy (having the coffee shop, being with MC, etc) and eventually he falls. Maybe because he asks Michael to "send him down" after the whole stealing the ring to save Lucifer thing (Michael promises to be merciful and only take away his heavenly powers - because the CR tends to be pretty harsh in its punishments, as we've seen - but Simeon tells him he'd much rather be a demon and Michael is heartbroken but agrees) or for really whatever other reason that would come up later in the story.
HAD to zoom in on each outfit because WHAT, they actually have drip for once?!
I think my biggest gripe with the story ending like this is that this whole season could've been scrapped for an actual reunion with the characters. You know, the one they took it from us by making so MC came back to the og timeline like minutes after they disappeared, so the brothers didn't even notice we were gone?? (still can't wrap my mind around that decision, tbh...)
I mean, okay, the writing was already not doing great, players were giving up on the game, and they HAD to end things abruptly by lesson 60 for whatever reason. Fine. At least give us a somewhat satisfying ending?
Why try to spin the narrative on the Celestial Realm out of nowhere and paint Heaven and God in a better light, contradicting the story they've been telling since day one? And for nothing, because there is literally no room to explore that since the story is ending now. The "we need to stop Simeon from becoming a demon" arc? Same thing. Why throw that in when there's so little time left? And the first part of the season being wasted on that totally uninteresting Science Fair? What was any of this for?
Wasn't it easier to just end the story with MC and Solomon coming back, and having the last lessons be an emotional reunion with the characters because they'd been uhhhh, handling MC's disappearance horribly since they had no idea where they were and could only hope they'd be okay and that Solomon succeeded in finding them and bringing them back to them?
That would've already been so much better than what we're getting, even with the dissatisfaction of having so many questions left unanswered and the plot unresolved. But we've spent all this time on a messy last season that has just been all-around confusing, frustrating, boring, and unnecessary. And now we're only two lessons away from the ending, which feels like very little time to give a proper goodbye to all these beloved characters individually. Like, damn.
Hello, I hope you’re doing well! Last time I talked to you about the MC’s magic in the story seeming inconsistent, and honestly, I have mixed opinions on the new Lesson 55. I liked it, but I just hope they explain the MC’s magic more clearly because I have so many questions. For example, Solomon mentioned that the MC now has two pacts with each of the brothers, so their magic seems powerful, but it’s just protective magic, which I don’t fully understand. I thought if the MC had two pacts, their power should be doubled, right? Also, what does having two pacts actually mean? Does this give the MC more control over the brothers?
How can this even happen? I thought the explanation for this would be that the MC’s pacts are now stronger because they have a deeper connection with the brothers, with a pact that goes way back. I just hope they answer these questions in the upcoming lessons. The concept of the magic gene seems interesting, and I do hope we get more insight into the MC’s magic in these regards.
Hello again! Yes, I've had a good day. Hope you're doing well too! Sorry for taking so long to answer, it took me a while to even check lesson 55 and now we're already at 58... (spoilers warnings for the new lesson, btw)
I honestly don't know how to feel, but I do think that the explanation to MC's "magic boost" felt a little lackluster and that they could've taken a more interesting route with it. I mean, I think what they want to say is that MC is really kind and their love & care for the cast made their magic evolve specifically for the defense and protection of others, but that feels pretty meh lol. I wish there was more to it or that it was at least expanded upon and we had the chance to explore MC's character/powers more.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting the events of the other timeline to affect this one because I remembered Solomon's explanation for the timelines being different worlds where what happened in s1 of nightbringer probably wouldn't affect the original timeline?
But that doesn't seem the case seeing that the brothers are showing to straight up remember MC being there with them in the past, like Levi in the most recent lesson.
MC getting more powerful doesn't seem that strange to me though, because they did make seven new pacts with seven "new demons" if we consider the nb brothers and the og brothers different entities. But in the context of the timelines being the same or somehow intertwined it feels like it's lacking an explanation and better clarification of what's actually happening.
Maybe it'll be a thing where the og brothers and the nb ones are separate entities but the pacts MC made with the different versions of them are overlapping in a way that the nb brothers' memories are merging with the original brothers' ones and creating this weird situation where they remember MC being there in the past at the same time they remember the og timeline where MC wasn't? It's all pretty weird.
