Don’t miss our photo coverage of The Bounce Festival, which will be posted here!
As we count down the last hours before we arrive at Bounce Fest, we wanted to give a preview of one last artist that we recommend you see. This year’s Bounce is being held at a virgin festival location nestled in the small town of Twain. Even before our entrance, we already feel the family vibe and freedom that comes with The Bounce Festival. First thing to do when we get there is to jump into the river that surrounds the festival grounds.
However later on, we are going to be sure to checkout the Brooklyn based duo that is Break Science. Coming off the Pretty Lights Music label you know you are getting quality music and free downloads. The duo has a very similar mid tempo sound that you are used to hearing from Pretty Lights.
I could describe their music to you but what better way to understand than hearing it from the artists themselves. Adam Deitch, half of Break Science, describes their process as follows: “We understand that to bring our vision to life, we have to spend just as much time on the programmed elements as we do on the live elements. Our goal is to blend these elements seamlessly, so everything comes together in an organic way. Our music is layered with different frequencies and sonic textures so it becomes something you can listen to multiple times and STILL hear new elements you might have missed the first time. We are influenced by everything from hip-hop and glitch, to jazz, soul, vinyl drum breaks and dub. We like certain elements of dubstep and drumstep (especially that BASS) and try to incorporate that sound in a fresh, new way."
They have worked with the likes of Wu Tang Clan, The Fugees, and Talib Kweli and although they haven’t released anything this year you can get their first two releases for free here. Obviously, reading what their music is like isn’t the best way to understand it, and the way to enjoy their music is to listen to it, so I have attached a couple of favorites below for you all to check out. Enjoy!

As stated in our last post we will be heading out to Twain, California early Friday morning for the 5th annual Bounce Music Festival presented to you by Fresh Bakin’ and the Bounce. There are going to be tons of great artists out there this weekend but one of the artists that we are most excited to see is Justin Martin.
Justin Martin seems to never sleep, whether I see him posting pictures of adventuring in Hawaii on Instagram, playing in Vegas on a weekly basis, running his own record label (DirtyBird Records), or constantly producing top quality house tracks I just don’t see the time for sleep in that schedule. Lucky for us he made some time out of his busy schedule to come to the Bounce Festival Friday night and we are very stoked to hear the Dirtybird front man throw it down.
It seems like awhile since he dropped his second album Ghettos and Gardens but really it has been less than a year. He has been hard at since then and two tracks of his that I’m really feeling at the moment are The Gettup that he just put out with British DJ/Producer Eats Everything and a remix he did for UZ on Trap Shit 13. Check both of the tracks out below and be sure to not miss Justin Martin this weekend at the Bounce Festival.

This upcoming weekend we will be leaving the “real” world behind and heading out into the wilderness for the Bounce Festival in Twain, CA. This four-day fest is located in high Sierra Mountains and we must say we’re pretty excited for this one. Nothing wrong with an impromptu weekend getaway filled with some great music and progressive art. Equipped with a killer lineup and spectacular surroundings, this fest is sure to be one we will be talking about for a while.
Among the acts we are the most excited to see are the amazing and always innovative Beats Antique of Oakland, CA. Their music consists of an array of different styles and probably fits best into the ambiguous category of “live electronica.” With an interesting mix of reggae, gypsy jazz, glitch, dubstep and the sound of the Middle East all tied together with electronica and live instrumentals, Beats Antique can really appeal to music lovers of any category.
