Your rendering is so clean and pretty! I didn’t find a FAQ or anything so apologies if I missed it, but I’m curious about what program/brushes you use, and how you pick colors! It really defines the mood of your portraits. Ty! 💕

Hi!! Thank you so much ! I draw on procreate on ipad. For the brushes, for my sketchy artstyle I use Lark in basics and Roxy in digital. For the rest, I use brushes from Jingsketch basics (soft brush and square).

How I pick my colors? I’m not sure honestly. I know I get inspired a lot by photography. It depends on the mood I want but I love cold and desaturated colors, so I try to stay there, and pick colors that are close from each others. If I want something cold and blue/purple, almost all the colors will be around blue/purple/grey, even gold. In the end it’s just a matter of illusion. When I don’t know how to start, I use gradient maps! Amazing tool. For more basic colors, I just desaturate them and make my canva darker. I usually try to make something pop, like the eyes, the background, or lighting, with more flashy colors.

Thank you so much !! I’m happy you liked it. The nyx one took me exactly 4hours. It usually takes me around 1h30 and 3h for most headshots in this style
