Somebody To Lean On.
“That’s what I’m here for.” He said, his tone overflowing with sarcasm. Leaning back against the couch, Logan settled in for what he expected to be a long night of jumping around the elephant in the room. He still wasn’t sure why she was there, why she had come back, and honestly, he was at the point where he didn’t think she was ever going to tell him. It crossed his mind, if only briefly, that she was just here to make sure she could have him eating out of the palm of her hand, that he would still fall at her feet at the drop of a hat.
Logan was tired, not in the way that he just needed a good nights sleep, but tired of everything that was going on around him. He’d had a lot on his plate for so long, the boy deserved a damn holiday. His defences were still up when he looked to her, but as he watched her face fall into her hands, something in him softened. “Is everything okay?” He asked, the sarcasm from just a moment ago replaced by genuine concern. “Are you in trouble? Because we can figure it out if you are. We can figure something out.”
It all seemed a little too easy. It shouldn’t have been that easy. Eden huffed out on a sigh as she passed her hand across her face up towards the wig she was wearing. She removed it and the hat she was wearing, freeing her blonde locks finally. “Don’t do that..you make everything so much harder.” He shouldn’t have been nice to her. He should’ve stayed upset, sarcastic. Refused to help her. Instead, he seemed ready to jump when she asked.
The blonde brushed her fingers through her hair, smoothing it out now that the wig was off. The guilt of her situation caused her to hesitate. Her gaze was settled on the couch cushion, on the subtle thread pattern. She passed a hand over it gently before speaking again. “I need..legal help Logan. I..Do you remember that thing about my step-dad?”
