New Regulations regarding Non-Combustible Enclosure around Distribution / Fuse Boards in Domestic Properties.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has a really interesting article discussing the new regulations being introduced in parts of the UK. According to the article, there have been reports from fire investigators of a recent trend of increasing numbers of fires involving consumer units in properties. A regulation that will probably also be introduced in Ireland in the future.
Some people in Ireland might consider being proactive by instructing a competent contractor / RECI certified electrician, to install a non-combustible enclosure around their electrical distribution / fuse board installation to mitigate the risk of fire in their house in the future.
