a few more pages from my death grips series. the quote in the first collage was a statement made by the band directly following the release of the money store.

"i showed my dog my iphone 5 and she said... this is as big as a phone ever needed to be. your kind's waste is intolerable and you have turned out paradise among the stars into a tomb."
bestie where do you get ur materials/magazines/etc for collaging?
hiii i use mainly national geographics! i thrift them or get them from estate sales. i have a little over 750 issues now dating back to the 1920s :)
i just found your art and it is captivating! im very curious about your process -- do you start with a concrete idea and look for specific items/images/elements or browse magazines and "find" the piece along the way?
hi!! wow thank you so much!
i would say it varies project to project. sometimes i sketch out whole multipanel collages, like in "i want to eat bugs with you underground", especially if i have particular ideas abt how i want things to flow.
but generally, no, it's all pretty freeform. i never print anything out, so i'm completely reliant on whatever i'm able to find. the scavenger hunt aspect is really appealing to me, especially bcuz i get all my materials secondhand. i find pieces that speak to me and boom, into the collage they go. my fight club collage, for instance, went thru a lot of metamorphasizing bcuz i loved what i had for it and i knew they were the right pieces, it was just a matter of getting it all to fit right. every collage is like a puzzle and the creative process varies wildly between each of them.
i'm buffy. the vampire slayer. and you are?
