"Crowley, you know when I just said, 'Two of you, Deity and the Adversary, facing off.'" Aziraphale whispers under the tree in his bookshop.
"Yea?" Comes Crowley's choked answer.
"Well, do you remember the Arrangement?"
'Of course I do," Crowley whisper-hisses back in a - why are you bringing this up now - tone. "Heaven, Hell, pointless work, cancelling each other," he pauses.
"Oh wait."
"Yes, exactly." Aziraphale answers.
"Here, take my hand."
We are not like them, Aziraphale thinks as he remembers all the lovely moments they shared across millennia, their games, their arguments over who's going to travel this time, about goodness, about their work, their unfortunate sides. About what is possible and what is not.
If he's right and Aziraphale thinks rather might be, the sides will cancel each other out and he will make it into the future. With Crowley. He squeezes his demon's hand. Always his demon.
"But how is the universe back?" Crowley asks when they finally separate from a very, very long hug and he peers out of the bookshop's window into a street that's just waking up into the morning light.
"Um, wait what was the theory... Aziraphale muses out loud, "there was an infinite amount of matter and antimatter and they cancelled each other out, but the amounts were not quite the same and from the rest came the universe?"
"That makes no sense angel?"
"It doesn't? Well. It worked." Aziraphale smiles.
"And Heaven and Hell?"
"Oh I think they will be glad to take a holiday, don't you? And with no one to give orders..."
"Do you think some will want to move here?"
"Like Muriel? Possibly yes, but we will cross that bridge when..."
Aziraphale is swept into another bone crushing hug.
"... the universe is big enough for all of us."
"Angel." Crowley holds on to Aziraphale for dear life again. "I'm sorry I left you fight them on your own."
"I couldn't let you suffer for eternity Crowley. I just couldn't."
no but hyun-ju's character is so fucking impactful in today's political climate specifically. squid game really said here's a trans woman who is incredibly kind hearted and gentle but capable of great violence when it's needed. she's gotten herself into a bad situation because she has no other way to fund her transition and that's not framed as something stupid and shallow, but as a heartbreaking reality that many people face irl. her past as a military man is one of her greatest strengths. she protects the weak and the elderly. she dies for two women she befriended in a BATHROOM a few days prior.
*undooms your yuri* The games never happened. They go on trips to Thailand and eat samgyupsal with Yong Sik, Geum Ja and Jun Hee because we love happy endings!
even though most of your nights are spent at hyun-juâs apartment, heart racing while she lays on your chest. she always falls asleep quickly when youâre running your hands through her hair, so you do, regardless of their shaking.
âweâre just friends.â you insist while grabbing hyun-juâs hand, despite the streets being empty for the most part. itâs convenient, you argue.
repeating that youâre just really close, even as you share everything. clothing, food, space- everything. she doesnât let anyone else eat from her plate, except you, because youâre special.
only when you spontaneously kiss hyun-ju do you realise youâre maybe more than âfriendsâ.
sunday mornings were always your favorites, even if you pretend otherwise.
the air smells of rain from a few hours ago, that clean smell that makes everything feel new, like the city rinsed itself off overnight. things feel slower than usual when the day hasnât fully kicked in yet and youâve got a bit of time to just exist.
youâre just about to go in for a sip of coffee, cradling the mug in both hands, when you catch movement from the corner of your eye. a small, orange blur perched casually on your windowsill.
you freeze for a second because why is there a cat on your windowsill?
sheâs orange and white, her fur sleek. her ears are perked up like sheâs listening for something, and her tail sways gently behind her. her front paws are neatly tucked under her chest in a way that looks both proper and vaguely judgmental.
âoh⊠hi?â
the cat blinks at you. then, as if this moment has passed her standards, she hops into your room with an amount of confidence that makes you wonder if this is really her first break in. she pads straight to your desk before curling into a loaf and meowing. you set your mug down and approach slowly to not scare her, crouching beside the desk.
âyouâre not shy, huh?â you murmur, reaching out to gently scratch under her chin. she tips her head slightly, accepting the affection. her fur is soft and clean, and her collar is a baby blue velvet with a tiny silver bell that doesnât make a sound.
so sheâs clearly not a stray, and judging by her entry point, she probably came from the apartment directly next to yours - the one with the tiny balcony barely three feet away from your own window. which can only mean one thing.
she belongs to the girl who moved in last week, the one you saw outside of the building carrying boxes in with one earbud in and hair tucked under a cap. but you never talked to each other. definitely because you were tired from work and not because your brain short-circuited a little when you made eye contact that first time, and youâd promptly decided to die instead of speaking.
right. okay.
a few minutes later, after slipping into sweatpants and the first decent top you can grab that doesn't scream i just rolled out of bed, you carefully scoop up the fluffy intruder, who gazes up at you with sleepy, unbothered green eyes.
âletâs get you back to your human, okay baby?â you whisper, pressing your cheek against her head before straightening. âgod, you smell like fancy shampoo.â
you step into the hallway and close your door gently behind you. then, with your heart inexplicably in your throat, you knock on the door to your left.
seconds pass. then a few more. just enough time for your mind to spiral through every possible awkward outcome. what if sheâs still sleeping? what if itâs somehow not her cat?
the door swings open, and before you can think of anything else, youâre face to face with your neighbor.
she also looks like she woke up not too long ago - barefaced and a little flushed, her skin seems still warm from her pillow. sheâs in grey sweatpants and a pink ribbed tank top. her dark hairâs tucked behind one ear, the rest slightly messy in a way that looks effortlessly good, like she ran her fingers through it instead of brushing it but it worked. sheâs even prettier up close, which is actually unfair and possibly a fire hazard.
she looks at you for a second before her eyes immediately drop to the cat in your arms.
âsunny?â her voice is a little husky with morning, and surprise tugs at her brows.
the cat meows in response.
âhi,â you say quickly, suddenly feeling the weight of every stray hair on your head. âshe kind of⊠came through my window?â
her lips twitch into an amused smile and her eyes lift to yours again. theyâre a warm brown, curious. âthrough your window?â
âyeah, she just came in and sat on my desk.â
her mouth pulls into a grin, like even sheâs a little impressed by the catâs audacity.
âiâm sorry about her,â she says, stepping back instinctively so you can enter the threshold if you want to. âand thank you for bringing her back. sheâs kind of an escape artist.â
âsheâs so cute,â you assure her, handing sunny over carefully. âi didnât mind at all.â
she settles into her ownerâs arms like itâs her throne of choice, and you watch the girl stroke behind her ears with familiar ease.
âiâm hyunju, by the way,â she glances down at you with a tender smile.
ânice to meet you,â you tell her your name, tucking a loose piece of hair behind your ear out of nervous habit. âi was gonna come say hi sooner, but i guess your cat kinda beat me to it.â
thereâs a flicker in hyunjuâs expression, her lips parting just a bit as her smile deepens softly, like the line caught her off guard in a good way. she shifts her weight to one side, arms cradling sunny a little closer, her thumb absently brushing over the catâs fur. her eyes glint faintly, warm and a little shy.
âi get it,â she shrugs. âmoving has been a little chaotic. and so is sunny. sheâs way more social than me, apparently.â
âwell,â you tilt your head with a teasing smile, âshe did make the first move. very bold of her.â
âshe doesnât usually do that with new people.â
you blink. âoh?â
âi mean⊠sheâs very picky. she either likes you right away or not at all.â
you try not to read too much into it and fail completely.
âso what youâre saying is i passed the vibe check? tell her sheâs welcome to stop by whenever she feels like.â
she lets out a chuckle, head tilting slightly, and eyes crinkling just a little at the corners.
âyeah, i guess you did.â
you smile back, helpless. âgood to know. iâd hate to be blacklisted by a cat.â
âoh, sheâd make sure you felt it too.â
âshe already looks like sheâs judging half my life choices.â
âdonât worry, thatâs just her resting face,â hyunju shoots back with a smirk. âbut it seems she liked you a lot. thatâs rare.â
you glance down at sunny one last time, trying very hard to keep your voice normal and not like it just curled into a ball at your feet. âwell⊠i guess iâll see you around, hyunju.â
she looks like sheâs about to say something else, but then just nods once, âyeah. see you.â
you turn away before you do something else, like ask if she wants to get coffee sometime even though itâs very much 8:23 in the morning and you just realized youâre not even wearing socks. you make it back to your apartment, closing the door behind you with a soft click.
hyunju stands there in her doorway for a second longer, staring at the spot where you just were and then down to the cat snug in her arms. she flicks her tail before jumping down to the floor, smugly pleased with herself.
âi canât believe you got invited back and i didnât,â she mutters, glancing down at the cat with narrowed eyes as she makes her way to the kitchen. âtraitor.â
Happy Birthday to my ultimate bias HUSBAND Lim Hyunsik. ă ă Â
I know you cant see this well i hope you can, i just wanna say that i love you so much. My life has changed ever since i became a fan of you. I became happier and I make more  new friends.
I met you twice when BTOB were in Singapore during May and Nov 2012. You replied to my mention during BTOBâs fanchat with Korea Billboard. Even though it is a simple ëżì ëżì you still replied to it with  ëżì ëżì .Â
I love his eye smile a lot. The main reason why heâs my ultimate bias. and his sexaaaaaaaaay buff body ooohhhlallala.Â
happy birthday peniel! you went from being a little chicago boy to being part of a wonderful boy group! you managed to move to a completely different country, where not only did you have to work hard as a trainee, you also had to take the time to learn a completely different language. despite the minimal language barrier, you still managed to debut with a group of spectacular individuals that you not only learn from, but also help teach. you might not talk a lot on camera, but we have been able to witness your wonderful sense of humor through your hysterical vlogs, and we have watched you open up throughout btobâs many reality programs. i canât wait to see you do more things in the future! good luck, peniel!
